The Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball coaching staff extended an offer to 2025 four-star small forward London Jemison on Thursday.

Jemison plays for St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Connecticut. He is listed at 6-foot-8 and 185 pounds. According to 247Sports’ recruiting rankings, Jemison is ranked as the No. 58 overall recruit in the country.

Thus far, Jemison has fielded power-five offers from Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Penn State Nittany Lions, Syracuse, and Virginia.

Given his size and skillset, Jemison could be a nice fit in Nate Oats’ system. At 6-foot-8, Jemison can defend multiple positions and play multiple positions as well. Alabama will likely lose multiple wings to the 2025 NBA draft, so it will certainly be helpful to bring in a player like Jemison.

On Tuesday, the Alabama men’s basketball program landed a commitment from 2024 four-star small forward Naas Cunningham.

Alabama landed a commitment from 2024 small forward Naas Cunningham on Tuesday afternoon. Cunningham chose the Crimson Tide over other programs like Duke, Kansas, Memphis, Rutgers, and UCLA.

The New Jersey native currently plays for SoCal Academy in Castaic, California. Previously, he played for Gill St. Bernard’s High School and Overtime Elite.

Cunningham took an official visit to Tuscaloosa over the weekend. It was Cunningham’s first trip to Tuscaloosa. The only other school that Cunningham took an official visit to was West Virginia.

At 6-foot-7, 180 pounds, Cunningham will likely play multiple positions in Alabama’s system. Alabama head coach Nate Oats and the rest of the coaching staff strive to recruit “positionless” basketball players. That certainly fits the profile for Cunningham.

Cunningham is the second ’24 prospect to commit to the Crimson Tide. The other is five-star big man Aiden Sherrell.

Alabama lands in top 3 for elite, 2024 SF Derrion Reid

2024 small forward Derrion Reid is down to three schools — Alabama, Florida State, and Georgia. Reid will likely make a decision in the coming months.

The Alabama men’s basketball team received its first commitment of the 2024 recruiting class from five-star power forward Aiden Sherrell. The Prolific Prep standout announced his commitment to Alabama on Sept. 26. Recently, Sherrell’s teammate, 2024 small forward Derrion Reid, revealed his top three schools. Alabama was one of the schools that made the cut.

Reid is originally from Grovetown, Georgia. Prior to the start of his senior season, Reid chose to transfer to Prolific Prep in Napa, California. Much like Sherrell, Reid has also been a priority target for the Alabama coaching staff.

He is listed at 6-foot-7 and 200 pounds. His skill set and frame give him the option to play the two, three, and four positions at the college level. Reid is one of the more versatile forwards in the 2024 recruiting class. That is one thing that has drawn the Alabama coaching staff to him.

Riley is the fourth small forward that Alabama has offered in the 2025 recruiting cycle. The coaching staff prefers to recruit forwards that can play positionless basketball. Riley seems to fit that profile.

Riley is listed at 6-foot-7 and 180 pounds. With his size, he can play multiple different positions on the floor. He can also shoot and rebound at a high level.

The Alabama coaching staff recently extended an offer to 2025 small forward Joson Sanon. Sanon plays for Expressions Elite on the Nike EYBL Circuit.

The Alabama coaching staff hit the road over the weekend to check out some recruits that are playing for circuit teams across the country. One player that caught the eye of the coaching staff was 2025 small forward Joson Sanon. The Massachusetts native received an offer from the Tide on Monday,

Sanon plays for Vermont Academy in Saxtons River, Vermont. He is ranked as the top prospect in the state by all recruiting ricuits. At 6-foot-5, 180 pounds, Sanon can play either the two or three spot on the floor.

When speaking with On3’s Jamie Shaw, Sanon had this to say:

“Loyalty will be big for me,” Sanon said. “I also want to go to a good program, one that wins. I’d like to play in a system that has a lot of space on the floor. Maybe one big in the paint, like four around one. Two bigs are ok too, but I just want to play with a lot of spacing.”

His preferred style of play sounds similar to what Alabama head coach Nate Oats runs. Oats prefers to play 4-out and 1-in. Meaning, he prefers to use two guards and two wings along with a big man to protrol the pain and set screens if needed. That sounds like something that Oats and the coaching staff could employ to get Sanon more intrigued with Alabama. The level of spacing will always be there in Oats’ offenses.

Ali plays for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He originally hails from Columbus, Ohio. According to On3’s RPM, Ohio State is the favorite to land Ali’s commitment at 53.2% likelihood.

Ali has not visited Alabama at this point in time. He received an offer from the Alabama coaching staff back in April of 2022.

It will be difficult for the Tide to out-recruit programs like Florida State, Texas, and the Buckeyes. However, there is plenty of time for the Tide to make up some ground in his recruitment.

Nate Oats has a history of sending wing players to the league. He has sent Brandon Miller and Herb Jones in recent years. Ali could do the same if he were to join the Tide.
