Folks are still murmuring about how the Liberty dismantled the Las Vegas Aces 99-61 last time out as 4.5-point underdogs on Sunday. The Lib have now won 4 straight, 8 of their last 9 and 16 of their past 19 outings. While New York was just 2-9 ATS from July 5-Aug. 1, it has covered the past 2 outings.

The Under has connected for the Liberty in 4 consecutive games, although the Over is 4-2 in the past 6 home outings.

These teams met June 4 in Brooklyn, and the Sky came away with an 86-82 win as 12-point underdogs as the Over (157) connected. The road team is 2-0 SU in the 2 previous meetings, splitting the total.

AVOID.

Against the spread

The SKY +12.5 (-110) have been rather erratic in the standings, and they still have a losing overall record. However, Chicago has ticked off covers on the regular, going 5-2 ATS across the past 7 outings.

The Sky won outright in Brooklyn, so they likely won’t be fazed facing the Liberty on their hardwood. However, New York has been impressive in the past 2 games, including the absolute pasting of the top overall seed Aces. Still, we could get a bit of a hangover, too.

I don’t think Chicago wins outright, but it could stay right in the rear-view mirror of New York until late in the 2nd half. The Liberty are just 1-6 ATS in the past 7 games as double-digit favorites.

Over/Under

OVER 166.5 (-115) is the lean, but it comes with some risk.

Yes, Chicago has been running up and down the floor lately, going for exactly 104 points 3 times in the past 4 games and cashing the Over in all 4 contests.

However, New York has hit the Under in 4 straight and is easily the best defense Chicago has faced lately. If the Lib can hold the Aces to just 61 points, that should give Over bettors a little bit of pause. Still, that’s the lean, as the Sky have been on an offensive tear.
