5-star WR Dallas Wilson signs with Florida football after flip from Oregon

Highly touted 5-star WR Dallas Wilson had signed with the Gators following a late flip from Oregon.

Highly touted five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson has signed with the Florida Gators, the program announced on Sunday Night.

This move comes shortly after Wilson requested out of his Financial Aid Agreement signing papers with the Oregon Ducks last week and after his visit to Gainesville this past weekend, the receiver decided that he wanted to be a part of the Florida football program.

Wilson, a 6-foot-3-inch talent from Tampa was one of the top recruits in the nation, known for his explosive speed and impressive ball-catching skills. His decision to join the Gators is seen as a major win for Florida head coach Billy Napier and his coaching staff.

With the departures of senior receivers Elijhah Badger and Chimere Dike, Florida was looking to add some more depth to the wide receiver room. Wilson’s arrival promises to provide ample depth and talent to this critical group of pass-catchers for quarterback DJ Lagway.

As Wilson prepares to start the next chapter of his collegiate career, Gator Nation is hopeful that his impact will lead to a more dynamic and powerful offense, ready to compete among the best in the SEC.

Recruiting Summary

Wilson, a 6-foot-3-inch, 195-pound wide receiver out of Tampa Bay Tech High School in Tampa, had 41 receptions for 677 yards and nine touchdowns in 11 games during his senior season this past year.Wilson committed to Oregon on Dec. 4, but decommitted just two weeks later on Dec. 19. Shortly thereafter, he signed with Florida on Dec. 22.

247Sports ranks Wilson as the No. 26 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class and the No. 4 ranked wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class.

Florida signs trio of offensive skill players to round out early signing day

Rounding out the offensive signees from Florida’s early signing day haul are a trio of skill players, running back Chad Gasper, receiver Muizz Tounkara and tight end Micah Jones.

Florida added signed a trio of three-star offensive skill position players on early signing day: Katy Jordan (Fulshear, Texas) running back [autotag]Chad Gasper[/autotag], Clear Springs (League City, Texas) wide receiver [autotag]Muizz Tounkara[/autotag] and Madison Central (Mississippi) tight end [autotag]Micah Jones[/autotag].

Gasper has been committed to Florida since May and stuck through the roughest parts of the cycle, shutting things down by August. He dealt with injuries during his senior year, finishing his four-year varsity career with 1,566 yards and 23 touchdowns. He also hauled in 40 catches for 459 receiving yards.

A member of that late string of flips for Florida in November, Tounkara chose the Gators over Arizona nine days out from the early signing period.

Tounkara played four years of varsity with Clear Spring but wasn’t a consistent piece of the offense until his junior year. He leaves high school with 73 catches for 853 yards and seven touchdowns, hauling in at least 30 catches each of his final two seasons. Five of Tounkara’s touchdowns came as a senior.

Both Tounkara and Gasper should be familiar with DJ Lagway as Texas natives.

Jones picked Florida over Arkansas, LSU, Mississippi State and Ole Miss over the summer and shut down his recruitment for the rest of the year. MSU and Ole Miss both stuck around for a bit being in-state options for Jones, but he was firmly locked in with the Gators, especially once Billy Napier’s return was confirmed.

All three players are expected on campus next month as early enrollees.

Recruiting Summary

RB Chad Gasper

Gasper is a consensus three-star recruit, ranked the highest by Rivals at No. 43 among running backs. The 247Sports composite, which considers all for major recruiting services, puts him at No. 761 overall and No. 58 at his position, while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 735 and 58, respectively.

He runs with physicality and can juke a defender in the open field with a single cut, but Gasper has played in a passing offense for most of his career. That should have him decently prepared to pass block and catch balls out of the backfield, which could get him playing time despite being part of a three-player class at his position.

WR Muizz Tounkara

Tounkara is a consensus three-star recruit, ranked the highest by 247Sports at No. 71 among receivers in the class of 2025. The 247Sports composite puts him at No. 788 overall and No. 114 at his position, while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 694 and 114, respectively.

“Tall, long, lean, and athletic with a longer stride and corresponding build-up speed that influences field-stretching ability and return game juice,” 247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks wrote in a July report. “Experience in all three phases with snaps at corner facing Texas 6A competition in Houston metro. Capable of winning contested throws in traffic thanks to frame, high-pointing acumen, and body control in the air.

“Capable of go-get-it grabs against overmatched high school defenders. Looks tough on tape with willingness to work the middle of the field and affect the screen/perimeter run games as a blocker. Still honing route-running snap/technique, but possesses the twitch to foster consistent late-separating ability and top-of-the-route pop. Arrow points up as senior year looms. Projects to P4 level with physical tools and functional athleticism to become an impact player who possesses ample long-term upside.”

Tounkara has the size that Billy Napier has been looking for at receiver. He’s 6-foot-3.5-inches tall and 195 pounds, which could give him an edge over smaller receivers on the roster when his time comes.

TE Micah Jones

Jones is a consensus three-star recruit, ranked the highest by Rivals at No. 27 among tight ends in the class of 2025. The 247Sports composite puts him at No. 637 overall and No. 33 at his position, while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 588 and 31, respectively.

He has good hands for a tight end and is a big-bodied target who can make an impact in short-to-medium-range situations. He could end up being a red-zone threat for the Gators. The run blocking is still developing but there are positive signs there.

Gators add pair of 3-star offensive linemen on early signing day

Florida added three offensive linemen to the program on early signing day. Here’s a closer look at tackle Jahari Medlock and guard Daniel Pierre Louis.

Florida signed a trio of offensive linemen on early signing day, Langston Hughes (Fairburn, Georgia) lineman Tavaris Dice, Charles Drew (Atlanta, Georgia) offensive tackle [autotag]Jahari Medlock[/autotag] and Seminole Ridge (Loxahatchee, Florida) interior lineman [autotag]Daniel Pierre Louis[/autotag], on early signing day.

For more on Dice, check out Gators Wire’s story on him here.

Medlock is a massive offensive tackle, listed at 6-foot-6 and 278 pounds by 247Sports. He initially committed to Cincinnati over the summer but flipped to Florida after a strong pursuit over the fall. His official visit came in October, when Florida beat Kentucky, and returned for the Ole Miss game 10 days out from the early signing period.

Georgia Tech also pushed for Medlock over the fall, but he chose to play in the SEC, citing Florida’s aggressive playstyle as a deciding factor. He made the flip official on Nov. 25 and signed with Florida at 11:45 a.m. ET on Wednesday.

Pierre Louis is another flip for Florida, this one from in-state rival Florida State. A cultural connection with offensive line coach Jonathan DeCoster helped motivate the flip, as did some instability in Tallahassee. Things moved quickly in this relationship. Florida offered in October after seeing him play and he committed by the end of his official visit in November. North Carolina State was also a player in his recruitment.

Billy Napier on Jahari Medlock

“I think Medlock is a freak of nature,” Napier said on early signing day. “He’s 6-5, a heavyweight wrestler, just unique hip, ankle and knee flexibility. The guy can really run. He plays both ways. I’m not so sure he couldn’t play defense. He’s that athletic. But a guy that really came along. Tough, blue-collar family. Yeah, just unique movements for his size. A guy that can play offensive tackle for you.

Billy Napier on Daniel Pierre Louis

“Daniel is really one of the freakier guys,” Napier said on early signing day. “He’s kind of a human forklift. That’s kind of how we describe him. We’ve had a couple guys like him in the past, at Louisiana, but 6-4.25, really long, 35 arm, 84 wing. A really good bender. He’s got good functional movement. Extremely smart, very bright, very knowledgeable about football. He studies players, and then his mom and dad are exceptional. They’re both educated, both high character. He’s made of the right stuff.”

Recruiting Summary

OT Jahari Medlock

A consensus three-star recruit, Jahari Medlock was ranked highest by On3 at No. 34 among offensive tackles in the class of 2025. The 247Sports composite, which considers all four major recruiting services, puts him at No. 761 overall and No. 56 at his position, while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 591 and 38, respectively.

Medlock’s size fits the mold that Napier likes at offensive tackle. He has the aggressiveness to succeed in the SEC but could stand to become more explosive as he develops.

IOL Daniel Pierre Louis

Pierre Louis is a consensus three-star recruit, ranked the highest by Rivals at No. 25 among offensive guards in the class of 2025. The 247Sports composite puts him at No. 822 overall and No. 56 among interior linemen (includes centers), while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 765 and 65, respectively.

Another big body to bolster Florida’s offensive line, Pierre Louis has the intelligence and size to develop into a contributing guard in Gainesville. He could end up being the hidden gem of this 2025 offensive line class and be a force in Florida’s run game moving forward. For a near 300-pounder, he’s not that slow and knows how to create leverage with his body. Development is key to success in the SEC.

Pair of ESPN 4-star defenders sign with Florida on early signing day

Florida added a pair of defenders with four-star grades according to ESPN, defensive lineman Stephon Shivers and linebacker Myles Johnson.

Florida signed T.R. Miller (Brewton, Alabama) linebacker [autotag]Myles Johnson[/autotag] and Brentwood Academy (Humboldt, Tennessee) defensive lineman [autotag]Stephon Shivers[/autotag] on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.

Johnson, a former Alabama commit who backed off that pledge once the new staff took over and flipped to Florida in July, signed at 8:18 a.m. ET, and Shivers, a former Georgia commit who flipped just over two weeks ago, signed at noon ET.

Shivers got looks from Texas, Oregon, USC and Vanderbilt after his commitment from Georgia, but decided to go with Florida after seeing the Gators upset LSU in November. The Gators already led his recruitment, but the win helped him make up his mind. He’s likely to play both nose tackle and the 3-technique defensive line position.

Johnson received some interest from Ole Miss and Georgia after making his pledge to Florida, but he’s held firm in his commitment all year. Florida is likely to play Johnson up the middle at MIKE or WILL linebacker. He plans to enroll over the summer.

Recruiting Summaries

Myles Johnson

Johnson is a three-star recruit according to 247Sports, On3 and Rivals, but ESPN grants him a fourth star and ranks him 11th among inside linebackers in the class of 2025. The 247Spors composite, which considers all four major recruiting services, has Shivers ranked No. 593 nationally and No. 63 among linebackers in the class, while the On3 industry ranking puts him at Nos. 692 and 75, respectively.

A 6-foot-1-inch, 280-pound two-way player with experience at running back, Johnson has good speed for his size and can stack the box on defense. He reads play-action well and has strong tackling skills. He has 1,293 rushing yards and is one of his team’s leading tacklers. Johnson’s relatively low ranking may have to do with him missing all of 2023 with a torn ACL. He’s looked solid all year long, though, and could be a sleeper signee in the class.

Stephon Shivers

Shivers is a three-star recruit according to 247Sports, On3 and Rivals, but ESPN grants him a fourth star and ranks him 24th among defensive tackles in the class of 2025. The 247Spors composite, which considers all four major recruiting services, has Shivers ranked No. 501 nationally and No. 55 among defensive linemen in the class, while the On3 industry ranking puts him at Nos. 473 and 45, respectively.

Shivers has massive size at 6-foot-4.5-inches and 380 pounds, profiling as a space-eating tackle similar to Desmond Watson. Despite his size, Shivers plays light on his feet. There’s work to be done to develop him into a key piece of the rotation, but he could end up more effective than Watson in many ways.

Gators legacy, top-100 CB Ben Hanks Jr. signs with Florida

It’s been a record-setting year for cornerback Ben Hanks Jr., who followed in his father’s footsteps on Wednesday by signing with Florida.

Florida signed Booker T. Washington (Miami) cornerback [autotag]Ben Hanks Jr[/autotag]. at 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.

Hanks is a top-100 ranked recruit from the class of 2025 who committed to the Gators on Aug. 16 over Miami and Louisville. The Hurricanes continued to push for him after his commitment and had many convinced he would flip, but Florida’s strong finish and public backing of Billy Napier helped lock him up.

The 6-foot-1-inch, 170-pound defensive back recently broke the Miami-Dade County record for most interceptions in a season with 12, demonstrating an advanced approach to the position heading into the next level. Hanks possesses good speed, clocking an 11.04-second 100-meter dash, a 22.18 in the 200 and a 49.28 in the 400. There’s lockdown man-coverage potential here.

Hanks is a legacy commit. His father, Ben Hanks Sr., played linebacker at Florida from 1992-95 and played two seasons in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions. Hanks’ sister is also headed to Florida to play volleyball.

Recruiting Summary

Hanks is a consensus four-star recruit, ranked the highest by On3 at No. 52 overall in the site’s standalone list. The 247Sports composite, which considers all four major recruiting services, has him at No. 76 nationally and No. 11 among cornerbacks in the class of 2025, while the On3 industry ranking puts him at  Nos. 69 and 11, respectively.

“Long-limbed, reactionary athlete that has proven to be a ballhawk out on the perimeter while facing speedy Miami-based competition,” 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins wrote in a June report.

“Tested in the upper percentile spring before senior season, positing a sub 4.5-second effort in the 40-yard dash. Also won a district championship in the 400-meter dash as a junior. Comfortable in 1-on-1 situations and has experience working out of both press-man and off-man coverage.

“Fluid midline allows him to mirror with his hips and maintain phase. Some additional mass, however, would make him much more effective as a bump-and-run defender. Likes to cheat with his eyes and isn’t afraid to take a risk in hopes of producing a turnover.

“Should be viewed as a potential multi-year starter at the Power Four level that can duke it out with large and fast wide receivers. Likely going to need some time to adjust to the college game and get the body right, but has the tools teams covet in an outside corner these days with his length (has a near 6-foot-5 wingspan), foot speed and ball skills as he constantly finds ways to get to the catch point.”

Blue-chip safety Lagonza Hayward chooses Florida on early signing day

The Gators won out over Georgia and Tennessee for 4-star safety Lagonza Hayward on Wednesday during early signing day.

The early signing day action continued on early Wednesday afternoon with an official decision from four-star safety [autotag]Lagonza Hayward[/autotag] in the 2025 cycle.

The 6-foot-1-inch, 200-pound defensive back from Lyons (Georgia) Toombs County chose the Orange and Blue over the Georgia Bulldogs and Tennessee Volunteers at 1:05 p.m. ET, giving the Gators his John Hancock on the official papers. With that, Billy Napier and Co. sneak back into the 247Sports team recruiting rankings top 10, leapfrogging the Vols in the process.

Despite the big-name suitors, Florida ultimately won out thanks to the staff’s transparency with their schemes and how Hayward would fit into the system.

“We were talking about how free safety and strong safety, and they want me to play both, whatever I feel like I want to play,” he offered previously. “Sometimes they’ll move me around because they run a multiple defense. It just depends on what team they’re playing.”

Hayward also raved about the vibes in Gainesville this summer.

“I can go there and get developed, play early, and it’s a great atmosphere,” he noted. “Just being in an atmosphere, you just got to love being there, loving the organization and the program.”

Recruiting Summary

Hayward is ranked No. 72 overall and No. 9 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 81 and 9, respectively.

247Sports provided the following scouting report on the defensive back.

“An explosive three-phase playmaker who 247Sports stamped as a four-star in the Fall of 2023 and has continued on an upward trajectory into 2024,” it begins. “Verified around 6-foot-1, 200 pounds with a well-built upper body, athletic lower half, and positive arm and wingspan measurements which should allow him to continue adding muscle before eventually settling in around 225 pounds at the next level”

The scouting report continues, “Rare two-way talent at wideout and defensive back that could be graded as an athlete considering collegiate programs are recruiting him on both sides of the ball, but likely has a higher ceiling as a defensive back prospect. Expansive multi-sport background speaks to his overall athleticism which directly translates at the prep level on Friday nights and in camp settings against elite competition.

“Plays with a hot motor and violent intentions which results in impressive takeaway production and a fair share of bone-shattering collisions. Triggers effectively whether the ball is in the air or on the ground and pursues with a fanatical level of determination. Will offer significant special teams value moving forward.

“Intriguing combination of ready-to-play football instincts and long-term athletic upside make Hayward one of the more compelling prospects in the state of Georgia at this stage of the evaluation process. Should be viewed as a potential impact player for College Football’s elite programs with significant NFL draft upside,” it concludes.

Blue-chip safety Hylton Stubbs signs with Florida after flip from Miami

Florida earned a surprise flip from blue-chip safety Hylton Stubbs on Monday, prying him away from Miami. He signed on Wednesday morning to make things official.

Mandarin (Jacksonville, Florida) safety [autotag]Hylton Stubbs[/autotag] signed with the Florida Gators at 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.

Stubbs flipped from his Miami commitment on Monday, two days before signing day. He spent Sunday in Gainesville and informed coaches of his decision. Initially, Stubbs pledged his services to USC and then flipped to Miami over the summer before finally landing with Florida. He noted the Gators’ improved defensive performances at the end of the season as a major reason for his decision.

He is an expected January enrollee who figures to make an impact early in his tenure with the Gators. A four-year varsity athlete, Stubbs recorded 286 total tackles (198 solo), 22.5 tackles for loss, 21 interceptions, 11 pass deflections, four fumble recoveries and 3.5 sacks at Mandarin.

Stubbs is a threat against the pass and the run who can line up in the box or up high. He’s a strong tackler who enjoys contact but lacks top-end speed. That profile could land him at the STAR position for Florida, or at least in a hybrid role to best utilize his skillset.

Recruiting Summary

Stubbs is a consensus four-star recruit who has earned a fifth star from Rivals, which ranks him 23rd overall in the class of 2025. The 247Sports composite, which considers all four major recruiting services, has him at No. 57 nationally and No. 5 among safeties in the class, while the On3 industry ranking puts him at Nos. 58 and 4, respectively.

“Well-rounded safety prospect that can defend the pass and the run. Added some good mass between junior and senior seasons and doesn’t appear to be done maturing,” 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins wrote in a June report. “Has experience working in a variety of different alignments and can likely do the same at the next level as he’s a spirited competitor in the box and alert in coverage.

“Strikes people as a tackler, oftentimes exploding through the hips. Tracks the football well on the backend and has the ball skills to come down with takeaways. Isn’t the type of defender that’s going to win a ton of foot races, but has the short-area quickness to correct some mistakes.

“Projects as a potential multi-year impact defender at the Power Four level that can add value in a variety of different ways as he can match tight ends, cut down run lanes, and get home on the blitz. Likely to find most success in an aggressive scheme that wants to move him around and put him in position to make plays. NFL upside with his physicality.”

Florida completes flip of SEC 4-star OL on early signing day

The addition of 4-star OL Tavaris Dice is a big one for the front line in Florida’s 2025 early signing day haul.

Florida football’s busy morning on early signing day included the addition of four-star offensive lineman Tavaris Dice, who flipped to the Gators from the Auburn Tigers ahead of the final game of the season.

The 6-foot-4-inch, 295-pound lineman out of Fairburn (Georgia) Langston Hughes did not even need to see the Week 14 triumph over the Florida State Seminoles in Tallahassee before making the jump, having already witnessed a pair of top-25 upsets on the two weekends prior against the LSU Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels, respectively.

Now, the ink is on the paper and Dice is officially a member of the Orange and Blue.

“You can tell the whole program is really family-based,” he has mentioned before signing with the program. “Everybody has a good time. You got the staff with my family and stuff, and I’m getting good feedback from them. That’s really a big thing to them.”

Billy Napier on Tavaris Dice

“Dice is a big, powerful, lean, 310-pound guy,” Billy Napier said on early signing day. “Got some position flex. He’s 34.5 arm, so you got some length. Maybe he can play tackle. I think he’s got some position flex. He’s got power to play guard. Loves football, very motivated, comes from a winning program, knows how to work.”

Recruiting Summary

Dice is ranked No. 191 overall and No. 20 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 194 and 18, respectively.

247Sports provided the following scouting report on the offensive lineman.

“First off the bus” type with broad-shouldered, long-armed build who wears existing mass exceptionally well. Gets off the line of scrimmage with quickness and shows encouraging bend relative to dimensions,” it begins.

“Capable of leveraging under D-linemen and moving them off the ball. Natural drive blocker with promising run-game hand placement. Can play a bit tight through the hips and core, but appears to show better knee and ankle flexibility than many of his peers, especially in a combine setting. Displays some finishing nastiness at times,” it continues.

“Still developing strength and punch power consistency, but capacity for both should be quite high given physical upside. Has shown agility to beat much lighter speed-oriented edge rushers on an island. Multi-sport foundation includes basketball, which fuels functional athleticism and movement ability. Natural tackle who likely provides roster value as someone who probably could move inside if needed.

“Projects to the high-major level as a potential multi-year starter with physical tools and on-field context that suggest NFL draft upside,” it concludes.

Gators add speed to early signing day haul with this 4-star WR

This lighting-quick pass-catcher out of South Florida will be looking to get some playing time during his true freshman season in 2025.

Florida football added another talented wide receiver to its 2025 recruiting class on early signing day when four-star prospect [autotag]Naeshaun Montgomery[/autotag] officially made his decision to join the Gators at 10:45 a.m. ET Wednesday.

The 6-foot-1-inch, 165-pound pass-catcher out of Miami (Florida) Central committed to the Orange and Blue at the end of August ahead of the 2024 regular season’s start. He chose Florida over finalists Alabama,  Florida State, LSU, Oregon and Penn State while streaming live on Instagram.

Even after a rough start for the football team this fall, Montgomery reaffirmed his commitment to the Gators in mid-September.

Montgomery’s outlook

“My goal in college is to play as a freshman,” he offered back in October. “I don’t expect anything handed to me, and know I have to work for it, but it’s still good to see how they give the freshmen opportunities. Coach (Billy) Gonzales always has told me that if a freshman is balling, he’s going to play him. That has always stuck with me.”

After the win over the UCF Knights, Montgomery began to see things fall into place for Florida.

“I liked seeing how they were throwing the ball around, and how they spread the ball around to different receivers,” he offered. “I understood they had some players out in the game — like [Eugene] Wilson was out for the game — but even with guys out, they worked around that. That opened my eyes.

“They were throwing it around to different receivers, and throwing it to the running backs. Tank (Hawkins) had a good game too. They were spreading it around, and as a receiver, it’s good to see that you know if you are open, they will find you.”

Recruiting Summary

Montgomery is ranked No. 175 overall and No. 22 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 273 and 40, respectively.

Miami Central coach Jube Joseph had the following to say about Montgomery, via On3.

“He high points the ball. His ball skills are elite. Separation at the top of the route. That is elite as well. And there were a lot of questions about his foot speed and then he went to the LSU camp and he ran a 4.4. His foot speed is second to none. He can go vertical. He can go deep,” Joseph notes.

“Naeshaun is a yes sir, no sir kid. When you get high-caliber kids like that they usually kind of have a bravado, but Naeshaun is a real humble kid. I recall a conversation we had. He was like, ‘Coach, how do I get my ranking up?’ I said, ‘Run track.’ Some kids would be like, ‘Man, I don’t want to.’ But he went and ran track. And he actually became a state finalist and he had never done it before. That’s just the type of kid he is.”

Former FSU commit, 4-star RB Byron Louis signs with Florida

Back-to-back upsets against ranked opponents and the “Lagway effect” led to Florida flipping FSU running back commit Byron Louis, who signed with the Gators on Wednesday.

American Heritage (Plantation, Florida) running back [autotag]Byron Louis[/autotag] signed with the Florida Gators at 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.

Louis flipped his commitment from Florida State to Florida after back-to-back visits to The Swamp, citing the “Lagway effect” as a major reason for his change of heart. He immediately became a vocal recruiter for the program, eyeing five-star FSU offensive line commit Solomon Thomas as his biggest target.

Florida figuring out ways to win helped Louis make the decision to flip from Florida State, where he’d been committed since mid-September. He is an expected summer enrollee.

Louis has rushed for 3,243 yards and 45 touchdowns on 423 carries over 41 games. While not considered a pass-catching running back, Louis reeled in 18 catches for 230 yards as a senior and has 291 receiving yards over his four varsity seasons. He is a strong runner who powers through defenders rather than juke them. Louis can add to that total on Saturday in the state semifinal. A win could set up a matchup with fellow Florida commit Vernell Brown III.

Recruiting Summary

Louis earned a four-star grade everywhere but 247Sports’ standalone rankings; however, the 247Sports composite, which considers all four major recruiting services, grants him that fourth star.

The 247Sports composite puts him at No. 231 nationally and No. 17 among running backs from the class of 2025, while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 237 and 15, respectively.

“A potential workhorse between the tackles with a downhill run style that will break through the first sign of contact,” 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins wrote in a September report. “Quick to pick a lane and will attack holes with vigor. Has a few long house calls on the highlight reel and can certainly find a top gear, but isn’t the most elusive runner when he reaches the second level and has more success powering through defenders then he does trying to get around them.

“Got more and more involved in the passing attack as a senior and should be able to offer some three-down value on Saturdays as he has the build to chip large edge rushers. Effective in short-yardage situations and finds ways to get into the end zone when down in the red zone, scoring 18 touchdowns as a junior while facing stout South Florida-based competition. Projects as a potential multi-year contributor at the Power Four level that will give an offense a physical and reliable option in the backfield.”
