Sierra Canyon star Ziaire Williams commits to Stanford on UNINTERRUPTED

The star player of the Sierra Canyon Trail Blazers that made it all the way to the CIF Open State Final is going to Stanford.

Sierra Canyon’s star player Ziaire Williams, who hit a thrilling game-winner for the Trail Blazers before the coronavirus canceled sports all across the country, still had a big decision to make even though the season is over. As senior, Williams had to decide where he wanted to go to college, even if college sports and college basketball don’t start when the coming school year does.

But on Sunday morning, Williams announced his choice, indicating that he will stay on the west coast to play his college ball with the Stanford Cardinal. Williams announced the decision through LeBron’s UNINTERRUPTED sports media company, which also had a camera crew following Sierra Canyon through the season.

Just as it’s unclear when sports will return in any way at the college level, there’s also plenty of uncertainty of when sports will resume at the youth and high school levels. Even though Williams is gone, Sierra Canyon will have high expectations once again whenever high school basketball resumes.

LeBron James spent Tuesday night watching old high school games

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James spent his Tuesday night watching old games as he and his family are staying home.

LeBron James is finding different ways to keep himself entertained as he and the rest of the world try to engage in the proper social distancing that is recommended by public health experts from all over the world. James spent his Tuesday night with a little wine and some of his old high school highlights, including a game he believes his team should have lost.

James shared the game between his St. Vincent-St. Mary’s against Columbus Brookhaven that was played on the campus of Ohio State University. James broke down the film, even critiquing his own play while remembering and shouting out his teammates, as well as his opponents such as Columbus Brookhaven and Xavier star Drew Lavender.

James found the game from his senior year on YouTube and was breaking it down as if he was going to prepare for the next game. James is clearly missing the game of basketball like many of us are, especially at a time during which March Madness would be starting and the NBA would be gearing up for the playoffs. But the need to socially distance and the current NBA hiatus will force us all to be a little more creative in watching the game we all love.

Ziaire Williams hits game-winner to send Sierra Canyon to CIF Final

Highly-touted recruit Ziaire Williams hit a game-winner to help Sierra Canyon get to a third straight California state championship game.

Although LeBron James and his Los Angeles Lakers came up short in their comeback in Tuesday night’s unexpected home loss to the Brooklyn Nets, somebody else in the James family got to be on the winning side of an incredible comeback.

After trailing by double-digits in the last few minutes of the game, the Sierra Canyon Trail Blazers punched their ticket to a third consecutive CIF state championship game, thanks to a last-second buzzer-beater by highly-touted recruit Ziaire Williams. According to Tarek Fattal of the L.A. Daily News, the Trail Blazers made a 13-0 run to win the game, capped by Williams’ bucket. After, Williams was rushed by his teammates, including Bronny James, who was in the right corner on the final possession.

Williams is a five-star recruit and considered one of the best high school players in the nation, but he has not yet chosen where he will play college basketball, or whether he will forgo the draft to train or play overseas.

Despite a ban on gatherings of over 1,000 people in nearby San Francisco, the CIF State Championship game is still scheduled to go on at 8 p.m. at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.

LeBron James and Drake show up to cheer Bronny in playoffs

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and his buddy Drake showed up to watch Bronny and Sierra Canyon in a big game.

LeBron James has an especially busy weekend, facing off against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday before taking on the Los Angeles Clippers tomorrow afternoon, but just because he’s busy doesn’t mean he’s taking it easy on Saturday night as he went to go watch his son Bronny’s Sierra Canyon squad in the playoffs with a guy who knows plenty about working on the weekend.

One of LeBron’s favorite artists and a friend of his, Drake, joined LeBron as the two showed up to see Bronny and Sierra Canyon face off against Harvard Westlake in the CIF Regionals on Saturday night. Drake, of course, is a noted Sierra Canyon fan, according to Tarek Fattal of the L.A. Daily News.

Sierra Canyon is looking to continue their run to what they hope will be their third consecutive CIF Open Division state championship. With tonight’s game being against a fellow valley-area school in Harvard-Westlake, the game should be even more intense than your typical winner-take-all playoff game.

Bronny James emulates LeBron’s incredible windmill in warmups

The son of the Los Angeles Lakers son showed that the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree by emulating his dad’s epic dunk.

Just over two weeks after the passing of Kobe Bryant, he’s still on everybody’s minds in the basketball world. After last week’s viral dunk by LeBron James, which emulated a Bryant dunk from 19 years ago, brought that back to the forefront once again.

LeBron referenced the 90s classic movie “The Sixth Man,” saying that he believes he was inhabited by Kobe’s spirit on that dunk when he emulated the same dunk from the past. But the family aspects of the Bryant tragedy have moved everybody, including the James family. Bronny wrote a tribute to Gigi and Kobe on his shoes for his first game after the tragedy and on Monday, Bronny emulated his father’s Kobe-esque dunk .

Bronny throws down amazing alley-oop as Sierra Canyon honors Kobe, Gigi

With LeBron James in attendance, Bronny Jr. and Zaire Wade honored the memory of Kobe and Gigi Bryant in the season’s final home game.

The Los Angeles Lakers are still in the process of grieving the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi, and seven others in a helicopter crash on Sunday, with Tuesday’s scheduled game against the L.A. Clippers being postponed for a later date. But the cancellation gave LeBron James a special opportunity to watch his son Bronny and his Sierra Canyon teammates play their final regular season home game of the season, where they honored the memory of Kobe and Gigi.

Bronny wore a pair of Kobe’s last night with messages written on them to both Kobe and “Lil’ Sis” Gigi. And with his father watching courtside, Bronny threw down the best dunk of his young career.

Members of Sierra Canyon and Campbell Hall both took special 24-second and 8-second violations to honor Kobe’s memory. Also, the entire Sierra Canyon squad wore Kobe for the in-game tributes to him prior to moving to their regular uniforms for the rest of the game.

LeBron brushes off question about whether son gets drafted by Knicks

“He’s in ninth grade,” Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James replied to a question about his son potentially being drafted by the Knicks.

Even now as LeBron James is in his career twilight, living his new life with his family in Los Angeles, the dream of seeing him play on a nightly basis at Madison Square Garden as a member of the New York Knicks still lives on. So much so that James was asked about potentially playing for the Knicks, in the event that his 14-year old son Bronny Jr. gets drafted by them.

The premise of the question, about LeBron’s son being drafted in some far-off future where LeBron is still in the league, as he hopes to be, was brushed off because LeBron just wants Bronny to worry about being in ninth grade.

Although Bronny and the Sierra Canyon team he is on already have a following that was bigger than anything we saw during LeBron’s high school career, he’s still in high school. LeBron and the family have also made sure to not let Bronny do any interviews with media outlets until he graduates.

After LeBron’s high school experience was anything but normal, LeBron is trying to make sure his kids have a little bit more normalcy in their school experiences.

LeBron James says ‘hating has no age limit’ after popcorn thrown at Bronny

The Los Angeles Lakers star said that people who hate on his son are going up against a prepared household on Monday.

A few hours before LeBron James and his Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden, LeBron filled his role as All-Star Dad in addition to superstar basketball player by attending his son Bronny Jr.’s game in nearby Springfield, Mass. However, a viral moment from the game got LeBron’s attention and it wasn’t a positive one.

According to video from the game, a young fan threw popcorn on the court while LeBron’s son Bronny was inbounding the ball while he was in the game for Sierra Canyon. That video prompted LeBron to make a statement that his family is not afraid of haters or popcorn throwers, regardless of age.

LeBron reportedly commissioned a helicopter to take him from the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, where his son played, to the TD Garden in Boston to face off against the Celtics. Monday is the second game of a five-game road trip for the Lakers.

Sierra Canyon, Bronny James to play Friday night on ESPN 2

Bronny James and his high school team are scheduled to play on ESPN2 hours before LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers play on ESPN.

Just in case you needed an extra dose of James Family basketball on Friday night, the folks at ESPN 2 have decided to carry one of Sierra Canyon and Bronny James’ games only a few hours before his dad LeBron James takes on the New Orleans Pelicans on ESPN.

Several of Sierra Canyon’s games have been broadcast by ESPN, including a halftime interview featuring LeBron James by Rachael Nichols during their game against LeBron’s alma mater St. Vincent-St. Mary’s, but all have been on ESPN’s streaming platforms before Friday night. Friday’s game between Canyon and The Patrick School (New Jersey) is set to air at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.

Canyon suffered their first loss of the season earlier this week against Rancho Christian in an overtime game in The Classic at Damien. Bronny James is coming off the bench again for the Trail Blazers as they’ve recently gotten back Ziaire Williams, in addition, star players BJ Boston and Terren Frank. Zaire Wade, son of Dwyane Wade, is also healthy and back in the line-up.

LeBron James takes advantage of being home to see son Bronny play

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have one game away from home between now and January 7.

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers suffered a kick to the groin and a loss in their Christmas Day game against the Los Angeles Clippers, but it looks like LeBron is recovering nicely with a day of treatment and the opportunity to see his son Bronny play with his Sierra Canyon Trail Blazers.

LeBron was in attendance to see Bronny and the son of Dwyane Wade, Zaire Wade, play for the Trail Blazers against Ribet Academy. Wade was dealing with an injury earlier in the year but appears to be back, connecting on a couple of baskets for Bronny.

Bronny only had four points on the night but the connection with Wade led to some of them. Bronny continues to play his role on a stacked Sierra Canyon team that is now 12-0 as they continue tournament play in the “Classic at Damien.”

LeBron likely won’t be in attendance for Bronny’s next game in the tournament as the Lakers will likely be travelling to Portland on Friday night before their game Saturday against Damian Lillard’s Trail Blazers.
