Shilo Sanders’ NIL earnings part of probe in bankruptcy case

Shilo Sanders’ NIL earnings are under a probe due to a court case and bankruptcy filing

It’s a different kind of headline for Shilo Sanders. And it doesn’t have to do with anything on the football field.

The University of Colorado safety and graduate student filed for bankruptcy to avoid a Texas court judgment against him in favor of John Darjean, a former high school security guard, for $11.89 million, per Westword.com.

Shilo Sanders disclosed $320,477 in assets in an updated filing in December 2023, mainly from a Mercedes he drives and a Robin Hood investing account. Previously, he had disclosed $477,881 in assets as his Robin Hood account had more money in October 2023.

The alleged incident took place in 2015. Shilo Sanders attended Triple A Academy in Dallas, Texas.

Per the report:

According to the court documents, one of Deion Sanders’s assistant coaches came to Darjean’s office where Shilo had been brought after violating the no-phone policy; that coach had Deion on the phone and passed the phone to Darjean. When Deion heard his son was on the phone with Pilar, his ex-wife since 2013, he told Darjean to take the phone from Shilo.

“You’re my brother in Christ, I need you to go get the phone…as soon as you get the phone from him, give me a call back,” Deion allegedly told Darjean, according to the January 29 filing.

At that point, the filing says Shilo slammed his elbow into Darjean’s chest and continued to hit Darjean after he fell. Darjean was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

Shilo Sanders admits the altercation took place in 2015. The case went to court in 2022, and Sanders did not appear for the trial, per Darjean’s filing. The trial court found Shilo had committed assault and battery, and the state court judged he should pay Darjean $11.89 million.

Darjean’s injuries include a broken neck, damage to his cervical spine, permanent neurological injuries, and irreversible incontinence,” according to a 2024 filing in the bankruptcy proceeding.

Social media reacts to Deion Sanders’ sons looking to buy their father a mansion

Coach Prime’s sons are looking to buy their father a mansion in Golden

According to a recent Well Off Media YouTube Video, Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders’ three sons are looking to buy their father a mansion in Golden.

In the video, Coach Prime was shown touring the massive house with Shedeur Sanders, Deion Sanders Jr. and others. It’s unclear if Shedeur, Deion Jr. and Shilo Sanders have officially purchased the mansion yet, but the gesture clearly made a strong impact on their father.

“My three sons had the thought process that they wanted me to see this,” Coach Prime said in the video. “That’s unbelievable. It almost provokes a tear.”

Check out the best social media reactions to the three sons’ generous gift:

Shedeur and Shilo Sanders walk runway at Louis Vuitton fashion show, meet Pharrell Williams

Shedeur and Shilo Sanders walked the runway at a Louis Vuitton fashion show in Paris

Shilo and Shedeur Sanders have never been afraid of the spotlight.

On Tuesday, the two Colorado football brothers welcomed it even more as they walked the runway at the Louis Vuitton Men’s Fall/Winter 2024 Show in Paris.

Their multi-layer, camouflage outfits were part of a collection presented by singer Pharrell Williams. In a Well Off Media video documenting a rehearsal of the show, the Sanders brothers told Williams they wanted to be “multidimensional,” to which the legendary musical artist replied:

“You already are,” Williams said. “It’s just that society makes you think that you are not and you aspire to be other things but you guys do so many things already. So, you don’t want to be, if I were you, I would change that language. ‘I am multidimensional.’ You know what I’m saying? Let them know you’re already that.”

The Sanders brothers’ appearance at the Louis Vuitton show has already garnered its fair share of attention. And in case you don’t remember, their father, CU head coach Deion Sanders, made headlines in December of 2022 when he told his new team that he was bringing his own Louis luggage.

Coach Prime ‘really proud’ of Shilo Sanders’ first season at Colorado

Shilo Sanders was impressive throughout his first season with the Buffs

Colorado’s season ended on Saturday with another loss, giving the Buffs a 4-8 final record after starting the year 3-0.

It could be viewed as a disappointment, but the Buffs went 1-11 a season ago and have since worked their way into the center of college football.

A lot has been discussed about quarterback Shedeur Sanders, the son of head coach Deion Sanders, and whether or not he will head for the 2024 NFL draft in 2024. But, Coach Prime also made sure to praise Shilo Sanders, a veteran safety who also transferred from Jackson State to play for his father (h/t DNVR Buffs).

“Shilo played his butt off this year,” Coach Prime said following Colorado’s loss to Utah on Saturday. “He’s not the other brother, he’s Shilo. He’s a force to be reckoned with. He’s dominant at what he does. He comes to play hard and he brings his lunch pail. I’m really proud of him.”
Shilo finished the season with 67 total tackles and an interception — a pick-six against Colorado State during what was arguably the most epic game of the season.
Shilo still has another year of college eligibility but after that, he could be headed to the NFL along with his younger brother.

Social media in a frenzy after Shlio Sanders ejected for targeting

How do you feel about the targeting call on Shilo Sanders?

The first half between the Colorado Buffaloes and the UCLA Bruins has been a strange one out in Pasadena. After a pair of field goals, the Buffs took an early 6-0 lead but a UCLA touchdown put the Bruins ahead, 7-6.

Travis Hunter has already picked off two passes and the Buffs also forced a pair of fumbles to keep Colorado in the game.

Unfortunately for the Buffs, safety Shilo Sanders was ejected from the contest late in the second quarter following a ticky-tack targeting call on a hit.

Following his ejection, social media exploded into a frenzy with incredible reactions to the unfortunate play:

Coach Prime to Atlanta Falcons scout: ‘We ain’t coming back unless we bringing the Sanders boys to the ‘A’ ‘

Coach Prime to an Atlanta Falcons scout at practice: “We ain’t coming back unless we bringing the Sanders boys to the ‘A'”

The Colorado Buffaloes football team has become a common topic in the national media.

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders is a big reason. The son of head coach Deion Sanders has made the transition from Jackson State to the Power Five look as easy as possible. Shedeur Sanders’ brother, safety Shilo Sanders, has also been stellar for the Buffs so far this season.

As a result, plenty of NFL scouts are keeping tabs on Colorado players. Rich Sanders, a scout for the Atlanta Falcons, was recently at a Colorado practice, and he and Coach Prime shared a great moment, which you can watch below (h/t Well Off Media):

It’s worth noting Coach Prime began his NFL career with the Falcons, so there is definitely a special bond here.

The Falcons have Desmond Ridder at quarterback, but he hasn’t found his rhythm in the NFL, so drafting Shedeur might not be a bad decision. With the way Shedeur is playing, time will tell if he’s NFL-bound after this season.

Colorado hopes to have DB Shilo Sanders available vs USC

All eyes are on this injury situation before kickoff on Saturday.

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders said Tuesday that he’s hoping his son, defensive back Shilo Sanders, can play in the upcoming matchup between the Buffaloes and USC this weekend after suffering an undisclosed injury in Saturday’s loss to Oregon.

However, Shilo’s status is up in the air regarding the matchup with USC according to Deion Sanders.

Buffaloes Wire has more on the story.

“He’s doing better,” Sanders said of his son. “We went to the hospital right after we landed. He’s doing much better. We’re praying that he heals and he’s playing this weekend. He’s a valuable part of our secondary and our team defensively.

In four games this season, safety Shilo Sanders has 26 total tackles, 21 solo tackles, one forced fumble, one interception, and one touchdown which he scored against Colorado State.

As a member of the Class of 2019, Shilo Sanders was a three-star recruit out of Cedar Hill (Texas) Trinity Christian School, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He was the No. 69 overall prospect in the state of Texas, the No. 57 safety in the class, and the No. 584 overall prospect in the class.

Injured Shilo Sanders questionable for USC game

Shilo Sanders, who visited the hospital after the Oregon game, is questionable to play vs. USC

The injuries are starting to mount for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes football team. After a loss to Oregon, safety Shilo Sanders, one of Coach Prime’s sons, went to the hospital after urinating blood and his status for Saturday’s game against USC remains up in the air.

However, Coach Prime gave a somewhat hopeful update on his status during his weekly press conference on Tuesday.

“He’s doing better, we went to the hospital right after we landed,” Deion Sanders said. “He plays with a certain physicality that we desire and want. We’re hoping he can play.”

Shilo Sanders transferred to CU from Jackson State along with Shedeur Sanders and plenty of other players and coaches. He has 23 solo tackles and an 80-yard pick-six this season for the Buffs.

The Buffs are fresh off their first loss of the year and they now face Caleb Williams and the Trojans’ dangerous offense. If Shilo Sanders is out, that will make things even more difficult.

Mic’d-up video shows Shilo Sanders telling Oregon players ‘I’ll beat the [expletive] out of everyone’ before blowout

This backfired badly.

Well, this backfired.

Colorado marched in to play Oregon on Saturday, with players stomping all over the Ducks’ logo, talking so much trash.

And the Buffaloes left humiliated in a 42-6 loss, while being trolled in the process.

Oregon’s coach Dan Lanning blasted Colorado in his pregame speech, and after the contest, the Ducks dropped video showing some mic’d up moments before the game — Shilo Sanders walked all over the field as both teams warmed up and had this to say: “I’ll beat the [expletive] out of everyone of y’all and your coach,” along with, “Why y’all so little?”

Oof! Check it out:

Duck fans react to behind-the-scenes look at pregame trash talk from Shilo Sanders

Shilo Sanders had a lot of bark before the Oregon game on Saturday. Let’s just say it didn’t end well, and Oregon has receipts.

The storylines keep pouring out from the game between the Oregon Ducks and Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday — a 42-6 blowout win for the home team.

A pregame speech from Ducks head coach Dan Lanning went viral during the game for his impressive line “They’re fighting for clicks; we’re fighting for wins.”

In the days since the game, talking heads on sports talk shows have gleaned a great deal of content out of the showcase. Many criticized Lanning for his aggressive playcalling, such as calling for a fake punt and routinely going for it on fourth down as well.

Lanning responded to that criticism on Monday night, saying that he would always do what ever it took to win, and that he knows better than anyone how to motivate his players. Regardless of what the Oregon coach said, there has remains the narrative that the Ducks were “classless” in their beat down over the nation’s favorite new team.

Not long after that press conference was over, the receipts for Lanning and the Ducks finally showed up in the form of a cinematic recap of Oregon’s game against Colorado.

In said video, we had mic’d up footage of Shilo Sanders, the son of head coach Deion Sanders, telling Oregon players that he was going to “beat the **** out of y’all and your coach.”

It turns out the Buffs weren’t so classy themselves on Saturday, and in comparison, Oregon was as calm and collected as could be.

Here is the full video, and some of the incredible reactions on social media that came from it Monday night.
