LSU football is in the mix for class of 2022 defensive end recruit Shemar Stuart, one of the top-ranked recruits in the nation.
Stewart, a five-star prospect out of Monsignor Pace in Opa Locka, Florida, currently ranks at No. 5 in the nation. He’s the country’s top defensive end and the best recruit available in the state of Florida.
Stuart took to Twitter on Dec. 18 to express his interest in LSU, along with Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama, Texas A&M, Penn State, Arizona State, Georgia, Miami and Florida.
It will be interesting to see how his recruitment continues to shake out down the line, and if Ed Orgeron and the Tigers can ultimately bring him to Baton Rouge.

UGA Wire’s James Morgan praised Stuart for what he could potentially bring to a team.
“Stewart additionally shows an impressive ability to disengage from blocks,” he wrote. “He lives in the opposing backfield and has a knack for forcing fumbles. Stewart’s tape is elite and proves why he is rated as a five-star recruit.”
