Martin Jones (1-1-0, .869 SV%, 4.34 GAA) vs. Jordan Binnington (2-1-0, .883 SV%, 3.38 GAA)

Jones is expected to return to the crease Wednesday after Devan Dubnyk took the loss Monday against the Blues. Jones was pulled from his last start after allowing 5 goals on just 24 shots against the Arizona Coyotes Saturday.

Binnington expects to see an increased workload this season after former backup Jake Allen was dealt in the offseason. The 27-year-old Binnington posted a .912 save percentage and 2.56 goals against average last season after winning the Stanley Cup as a rookie in 2018-19.

Sharks at Blues: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Blues 4, Sharks 1

Money line (ML)

The BLUES (-190) dominated the Sharks last time around and were unlucky to come away with just a one-goal victory. They registered 24 scoring chances at 5-on-5 to just 8 for the Sharks. Two of San Jose’s 4 goals in the game came on three power-play opportunities while St. Louis went 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

The Blues also controlled puck possession with 60.87% of the total shot attempts (including blocked and missed shots) at full strength.

The lineups remain the same Wednesday and the Blues retain a significant advantage in the goaltending battle. Lock-in the home side.

Against the spread (ATS)

Expect a better performance from Binnington in this second meeting with the Sharks. Back the BLUES -1.5 (+140) following their clinic in puck possession Monday.

San Jose figures to improve on last season’s disaster but through three games, it doesn’t seem as though it’ll be a quick turnaround.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the UNDER 6 (-120) while expecting Binnington to keep the doors closed. He held the powerful Colorado Avalanche to just 1 goal on 27 shots in his season debut but has allowed 8 goals on 50 total shots in his last two outings.

Game 1 is much more in line with his career performance.
