College Gameday, SEC Nation predict winner between Florida and LSU

Both crews favor the LSU Tigers over the Florida Gators in this Week 12 rivarly matchup.

Kickoff is coming up in a few hours for Florida football’s Week 12 matchup against the LSU Tigers in the Swamp, and both the College Gameday and SEC Nation crews made their selections for the rivalry game.

On College Gameday, the entire crew picked LSU except for Desmond Howard.

(DJ) Lagway’s gonna play,” Howard said. “I’m not sure how effective he’s gonna be with that hamstring injury, but he just may get LSU. We saw them play last week vs. Alabama and that team didn’t look good, so I’m gonna go with the Gators.”

Nick Saban, Pat Mcafee, celebrity guest picker Cody Rhodes, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit chose LSU.

“I think this is a little bit of a gut check for LSU,” Saban said. “If they respond the right way, I think they’re better than Florida.”

Herbsreit picked the Tigers because of their slim SEC Championship hopes.

“There is still a path,” Herbstreit said. “And it’s not crazy, so they’ve gotta get locked in. We’re going to learn a lot about LSU and the maturity (with) how they handle this trip against a good Florida defense.”

On SEC Nation, Roman Harper was the lone member of the crew to pick the Gators over the Tigers.

“Bad teams find ways to lose games, good teams find ways to win them,” Harper said. “Florida’s been a bad team all year, but I think LSU, the way they got their butts kicked last week, cost them two games. I’m going with Florida.”

Paul Finebaum, Jordan Rodgers and yes, even Tim Tebow picked LSU over Florida.

“I think DJ (Lagway) coming back gives them a chance,” Tebow said. “I just don’t know if he’s fully healthy…And I think LSU actually is embarrassed from what happened last week. I think they played that way and LSU, unfortunately, at The Swamp, gets a close win.”

SEC Nation, Tim Tebow make Florida-Georgia prediction

Tim Tebow bleeds Orange and Blue, but the legendary Florida Gator didn’t make the pick you might expect ahead of the Georgia game on SEC Nation

Even [autotag]Tim Tebow[/autotag] couldn’t find a rationale to pick Florida over Georgia ahead of the 2024 rivalry game in Jacksonville on Saturday.

SEC Nation spent all morning outside EverBank Stadium as the World’s Largest Cocktail party commenced. Much of the show was spent splitting coverage for both teams, but when it came down to prediction time, the Georgia Bulldogs were the pick across the board.

Legendary SEC commentator Paul Finebaum, former Alabama safety Roman Harper, former Vanderbilt QB Jordan Rodgers, WWE legend and former Georgia Bulldog Bill Goldberg all picked UGA to come out on top.

But no one expected the Florida football legend to pick the ‘Dawgs until he reluctantly admitted his prediction while holding a WWE championship belt with Gator plates. It hurt to watch, but Tebow couldn’t deny that Georgia is the better team right now.

However, Tebow ended his segment by saying, “Gator Nation, you never know, something crazy might happen.” Earlier in the program, Tebow laid out what needs to happen for Florida to emerge victorious in the rivalry game for the first time since 2020.

“Well, I think if you look at it as a whole, there are a lot of roads to victory for Georgia,” Tebow said. “There’s only a few for Florida and every one of those roads has to go through [autotag]DJ Lagway[/autotag].

“… His key to the game, it has to start by being a quick decision-maker. … Then he has to be a threat in the run game. Then, you’ve got to hit a deep ball at least every quarter. … Maybe the biggest key, is he cannot force it. It’s not worth it. You have the hopes and the dreams of the team and most of Jacksonville riding behind you. You just can’t force it.”

SEC Nation will travel to Jacksonville for Florida-Georgia rivalry game

Florida alumna Laura Rutledge will host the show and will be joined by Gator great Tim Tebow as well as the rest of the crew.

One of the most storied rivalries in all of college football is coming up next weekend when the Florida Gator and Georgia Bulldogs clash inside EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville. The SEC Network’s weekly pregame traveling show, SEC Nation, will be on hand for the festivities in Week 10.

SEC Nation regularly follows the site of each week’s SEC on ABC showdowns during the fall.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET but the SEC Nation broadcast begins at 9 a.m. ET. Fans are encouraged to arrive early at Lot P outside the stadium if they wish to secure a spot at the front; early birds have a chance to meet the talent, be on TV and win giveaways.

ESPN’s ‘SEC Nation’ make their predictions for Alabama vs. Missouri

The ‘SEC Nation’ crew make their picks for Alabama vs. Missouri.

On Saturday morning, ESPN’s “SEC Nation” was back in Tuscaloosa for the first time since the 2023 season, broadcasting live on SEC Network ahead of the Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Missouri Tigers game later in the day.

As part of this, the “SEC Nation” crew made their official predictions as to which team will win Saturday between the Crimson Tide and Tigers to end the show, with all of the crew picking Alabama over Missouri.

This included Tim Tebow, Jordan Rodgers, former Crimson Tide star Roman Harper, and Paul Finebaum, each of which predicted an Alabama victory.

Alabama and Missouri will kickoff later today from Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

Who will win the Top 25 showdown between the Crimson Tide and Tigers? In what is simply an elimination game when it comes to the College Football Playoff, it’s certainly a big one Saturday in Tuscaloosa.

ESPN’s ‘SEC Nation’ to visit Knoxville for Alabama vs. Tennessee

ESPN’s “SEC Nation” will broadcast live from Knoxville on Saturday.

While ESPN’s College GameDay is hitting the road to Austin on Saturday for the showdown between the Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs, the other popular morning college football show from ESPN is coming to Knoxville for the Alabama Crimson Tide at Tennessee Volunteers game.

Yes, ESPN’s “SEC Nation” will broadcast live from Knoxville on Saturday morning ahead of that afternoon’s massive showdown between the Crimson Tide and Volunteers.

The show will begin at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday, and will be broadcast live on SEC Network. SEC Nation will feature college football personalities such as Paul Finebaum, Tim Tebow, former Alabama star Roman Harper, Jordan Rodgers, Laura Rutledge, Marty Smith, and Ryan McGee.

This will be the first Alabama game “SEC Nation” has visited so far this season after the show came to five a year ago. Two of those came in Tuscaloosa against Texas and Tennessee, while two came elsewhere when the Crimson Tide travel to Kentucky and Auburn.

The show was also at the Rose Bowl for Alabama’s playoff game against Michigan last season.

College Gameday, SEC Nation predict Florida-Tennessee winner

Tennessee heavily favored over the Gators by both College Gameday and SEC Nation.

Kickoff is just around the corner for Florida football’s matchup with the Tennessee Volunteers tonight and both College Gameday and SEC Nation crews made their picks for the game.

Across both shows, everyone aside from Florida alum and SEC Nation host Laura Rutledge picked the Volunteers to win the game.

The College Gameday show quickly ran through the picks for the game, so there weren’t any explanations behind the selections, but on SEC Nation, the crew was able to share their insight on the game.

“I do think it’s overlooked how good Florida has been playing,” Jordan Rodgers said on SEC Nation. “Graham Mertz and DJ Lagway (are) both playing really well. But I think Tennessee figures it out.”

Tim Tebow is leaning towards the Volunteers but doesn’t count out Florida making it competitive.

“I really think Florida’s much improved and they’re going to give Tennessee fits,” Tebow said. “I think being at Neyland (Stadium), I think Nico (Iamaleava) is just too good… At the end, the front seven for Tennessee is what really gets it done.”

Florida-Tennessee game information

Florida travels on the road to Knoxville to play the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday, Oct. 12. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN.

Texas A&M HC Mike Elko speaks to Paul Finebaum ahead of facing Missouri

Mike Elko knows that limiting turnovers and dominating the trenches is the key to victory

On Friday afternoon, less than 24 hours before Texas A&M hosts the 9th-ranked Missouri Tigers on Saturday afternoon, Aggies’ head coach Mike Elko sat down with SEC Network lead analyst Paul Finebaum to preview the matchup.

Throughout the week, Elko has dealt with the looming question of who will start the quarterback position against the Tigers after it was revealed that Conner Weigman had returned to practice this week in limited form as his shoulder continues to heal. Redshirt freshman QB Marcel Reed is a perfect 3-0 as the team’s starter this season.

Facing a top-5 ranked Missouri defense, Reed’s dual-threat running ability is an obvious plus. Still, despite being given mostly clean pockets in last Saturday’s win against Arkansas, his accuracy, especially downfield, was an issue. Nevertheless, he’s likely to start his fourth consecutive game, barring any last-minute changes.

With SEC Nation starting its coverage in College Station on Friday, Finebaum set the stage ahead of the critical matchup, asking Elko what the Aggies need to do to set the tone and control the game from the onset to start 3-0 in SEC play potentially.

Yeah, for sure, and I said earlier in the week, for us to pretend like the kids aren’t aware of the magntitude of these games, you’ve got SEC nation here, you’ve got alot of hype around this game, so you kind of acknowledge that, right?” Elko stated. “This is a big oppurtunity and there are going to be a lot of eyes on us Saturday, and then you go through that and say, okay, here’s what we have to do to be succesful, and the recipe usually doesn’t change.

Elko and his team know what this win could do for the program, while a loss would put the Aggies behind the 8 ball and a likely 8-4 finish.

Texas A&M will host Missouri on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 11:00 a.m. CT. The game will air on ABC and will be available for streaming on ESPN+.

SEC Nation is headed to College Station for Texas A&M vs. Missouri

SEC Nation is coming to College Station for Texas A&M vs. Missouri

Texas A&M (4-1, 2-0 SEC) will return to Kyle Field next weekend to face the Missouri Tigers (4-0, 1-0 SEC) in an early Saturday afternoon showdown. As the only matchup between two ranked teams, SEC Nation will reportedly head to College Station this weekend.

The Aggies and head coach Mike Elko are coming off a solid 21-17 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks, who have proven this season to be a threat in the conference and showed that through most of the afternoon.

Aggies quarterback Marcel Reed struggled with accuracy throughout the day. Still, he came through when A&M needed a score, as the redshirt freshman completed three passes paired with several successful runs, leading to his lead-taking touchdown pass to tight end Tre Watson with nine minutes left in the 4th quarter.

Missouri is coming off a bye week after narrowly defeating Vanderbilt at home 30-27 in overtime. The Tigers have shown some holes defensively but still possess one of the top passing offenses in the country, with QB Brady Cook and wide receiver Luther Burden connecting for all four of the team’s touchdowns in four games.

The broadcast consists of three shows. It will start with the Marty & McGee show at 8:00 p.m. CT, followed by SEC Nation at 9:00 a.m. CT.

Texas A&M will host Missouri on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 11:00 a.m. CT. The game will air on ABC and will be available for streaming on ESPN+.

SEC Nation returning to The Swamp for Florida-Texas A&M

Florida is hosting SEC Nation for the second time in three weeks as the Texas A&M Aggies come to Gainesville for a Week 3 showdown.

The SEC Nation crew is back in Gainesville this weekend for a clash between the Florida Gators and Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Gators legend [autotag]Tim Tebow[/autotag] will join Paul Finebaum, Jordan Rodgers and Roman Harper on set, and UF Journalism School alumna Laura Rutledge will host the show.

Finebaum will host his eponymous show Friday at the Plaza of the Americas. Fans are encouraged to show up ahead of the 3 p.m. start time, and the festivities continue at 9 a.m. sharp on Saturday.

This will be Florida’s 13th time hosting SEC Nation but only the eighth time in Gainesville — neutral site games such as the Florida-Georgia matchup tend to be popular selections for the SEC Nation crew. Most recently, Florida hosted the show for a high-profile season opener against Miami. Hopefully, things will go better on the field this time.

SEC Nation’s new theme song also has Florida ties. Country singer Brooke Eden is an alumnus of the school and is the voice behind the theme.

SEC Nation crew picks Florida to upset No. 19 Miami

SEC Nation was in Gainesville this weekend, and the crew didn’t shy away from picking Florida to pull off the upset against Miami.

Just before Week 1 of the college football season kicked off, the [autotag]SEC Nation[/autotag] crew submitted their picks for every matchup featuring a team from the Southeastern Conference.

Live from Gainesville, the big focus was on the rivalry matchup between Florida and Miami. Gators legend [autotag]Jevon Kearse[/autotag] (holding a Gator) joined [autotag]Tim Tebow[/autotag], [autotag]Laura Rutledge[/autotag], Paul Finebaum, Roman Harper and Jordan Rodgers to make the pick. All but one of the analysts went with the Orange and Blue to pull off the upset.

“I’m going with those Florida Gators,” Kearse said. “Both head coaches are on the hot seat right now, and they’ve got to come out firing on all cylinders. Game One, there’s a lot of energy here today. I’m feeling the Gators.”

https://twitter.com/Noah_ram1/status/1829914608590872973

Rodgers donned an oversized Gators hat while making his pick. He noted that the team is more explosive than it was a year ago, thanks to transfer portal additions, and shouted out Eugene “Tre” Wilson III as a dangerous weapon for the offense.

Finebaum isn’t known for giving much love to the Gators, especially over the past few years, but it’s a new season.

“I haven’t picked Florida to win a big game in a long time,” Finebaum said. “But that changes today!”

Roman Harper agreed that “everything is setting up just perfect for Florida,” but he decided to go with the “better team” and picked Miami. Everyone loves a contrarian…

When 93,000 people show up, a lot of people get intimated,” Tebow said. “I think that 93 make Miami blink just a little bit, make them hesitate just a little bit. I think Gator Nation shows up, and they know how to play rivalry games. So, of course, I’m going with Gator Nation because Gator Nation is the only one that gets out alive.”
