After winning this competition last season, Tigres has sputtered out of the gates in 2020. With just two wins, two losses and a draw in its first five matches, Ricardo Ferretti’s side has some ground to make up over league leaders Leon. Some positive signs have begun to shine through. Santos Laguna is in an even more unfamiliar position, sitting in the bottom half of the table through five results. The team has managed just one win so far this season and have really struggled with keeping the opposition off the scoresheet. Laguna’s 10 goals allowed is tied for the worst in the entire Liga MX field. Santos Laguna’s weakness for conceding cost them big time in the most recent match. The team let three points slip away, giving up a last-second goal to Puebla to draw 2-2.
