San Francisco vs. Gonzaga odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s San Francisco vs. Gonzaga odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The San Francisco Dons (24-8) and the Gonzaga Bulldogs (23-8) meet Monday in a West Coast Conference semifinal game at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Tip-off is scheduled for 11:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s college basketball odds around the San Francisco vs. Gonzaga odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

The Dons meet the Bulldogs looking to snap a 32-game losing streak in this series. San Francisco’s last win against Gonzaga was a 66-65 win at home on Feb. 18, 2012. The Zags lead the all-time series 76-22, and San Francisco is just 4-55 in 59 tries against Gonzaga coach Mark Few.

Gonzaga won 95-75 in Frisco on March 1 as a 9-point favorite in the regular-season finale, and it won 88-77 on Feb. 13 at the McCarthey Athletic Center. However, San Francisco covered as a 16-point underdog as the Over (153.5) cashed in that game in Spokane. USF guard Malik Thomas went for 25 points with 4 made 3-pointers, while Gonzaga F Graham Ike was good for 18 points with 13 rebounds and a blocked shot, while G Ryan Nembhard had 18 points with 13 assists and a pair of triples.

San Francisco posted an 86-75 win as a 6-point favorite in the quarterfinals over Washington State Sunday as the Over (152.5) cashed. USF is 7-2 ATS in the past 9 games, while the Over has hit in 3 in a row, and 5 of the past 7 games.

Gonzaga wrapped up the regular season with 7 wins in the final 8 games, while cashing in 4 of the final 5 outings. In fact, the Bulldogs might have finished the season with their best stretch of basketball since the out-of-conference portion of the schedule back in November.

San Francisco vs. Gonzaga picks and predictions

Prediction

Gonzaga 85, San Francisco 78

Moneyline

Gonzaga (-1450) will cost you nearly 15 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for such a little amount of profit. Even though the Zags haven’t lost to San Francisco (+810) since 2012, this Dons team is pretty strong, and this might be the weakest Gonzaga side we’ve seen in decades.

PASS.

Against the spread

SAN FRANCISCO +14.5 (-110) is a strong play catching double digits in this tournament game.

The Dons might have the long losing streak to Gonzaga -14.5 (-110), but they’re worth a play. San Francisco covered a big number on the road against Gonzaga last month. Plus, the Zags are 5-10 ATS in the past 15 games as a double-digit favorite.

Over/Under

OVER 155.5 (-115) is a strong play in this WCC semifinal nightcap in Vegas.

The Over cashed in both regular-season meetings between these teams, with Gonzaga averaging 91.5 points in those 2 contests, and San Francisco averaging 76.0.

The Dons have cashed high in 3 in a row, while going 5-2 in the past 7 outings since Feb. 8.

Saint Mary’s at San Francisco odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Saint Mary’s at San Francisco odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The No. 23 Saint Mary’s Gaels (20-3, 10-0 WCC) visit the San Francisco Dons (18-6, 8-3) Thursday at The Sobrato Center in San Francisco. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college basketball odds around the Saint Mary’s vs. San Francisco odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

The Gaels have won 11 consecutive meetings since Feb. 2, 2019. The last victory for the Dons came Jan. 3, 2019, with San Francisco covering as a 3-point home favorite. Saint Mary’s is also 9-2 against the spread (ATS) in the 11-game win streak, while the Over has hit in 6 of the past 8 meetings.

The Gaels won the first meeting in Moraga 71-51 on Jan. 23, covering as a 10.5-point favorite as the Under (134) connected. San Francisco hit just 26.9% (14-of-52) from the field, and 22.2% (6-of-27) from behind the 3-point line. Saint Mary’s was an efficient 61.5% (32-of-52) from the field, while posting a plus-12 rebounding margin.

SMC is the only unbeaten team in WCC play, and it sits 2 1/2 games ahead of San Francisco. The Dons are 14-0 straight up (SU) at home, while the Gaels are 6-0 on the road, so something’s gotta give.

San Francisco has won 2 in a row, and 4 of the past 5 outings, while going 3-2 ATS in the span. The Under and Over have alternated in each of the past 5 contests.

Saint Mary’s at San Francisco picks and predictions

Prediction

Saint Mary’s 74, San Francisco 66

Moneyline

Saint Mary’s (-275) will cost you nearly 3 times your potential return, and that’s too much risk for not enough reward.

The Gaels are unbeaten on the road this season, and they enter on a 10-game win streak. While San Francisco (+220) has posted a 14-0 SU record at home, it lost the first meeting by 20 points, and it hasn’t faced a ranked team at The Sobrato Center yet. Look for the Dons to finally meet their match.

PASS.

Against the spread

PLAY SAINT MARY’S -5.5 (-118) to get the job done by at least 3 buckets. Again, it won the first meeting 71-51 in the East Bay 2 weeks ago.

The Gaels have won 11 in a row in this series, too, while going 9-2 ATS in the series since 2019.

San Francisco +5.5 (-102) enters this game just 3-7 ATS in the past 10 games since Dec. 30, and it is just 3-4 ATS in the past 7 outings at home, too.

Over/Under

OVER 131.5 (-115) is a solid play in this WCC rematch.

The total has a slight edge for San Francisco (6-4) in the past 10 games since Dec. 30, although the Under easily cashed in the first meeting with Saint Mary’s.

For the Gaels, the total has gone low in 4 of the past 5 games, scoring 74 or fewer points, while allowing 60 or less in 9 of the previous 10 outings.

Prediction

Saint Mary’s 82, San Francisco 69

Moneyline

PASS.

While Saint Mary’s (-600) is 10-1 at home and San Francisco is 2-3 on the road, the spread is the preferred play here and is available at a much better price.

Against the spread

BET SAINT MARY’S -10.5 (-110).

Saint Mary’s has covered 5 straight games, all as a favorite of 13.5 or more points. It has covered back-to-back home games and scored 81 or more points in 3 of its last 4.

San Francisco has failed to cover 7 of its last 10 games overall, including 4 of its last 5 on the road and 2 straight as an underdog.

San Francisco vs. Loyola Chicago odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s San Francisco at Loyola Chicago odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The San Francisco Dons (8-2) and the Loyola Chicago Ramblers (8-0) meet Sunday at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college basketball odds around the San Francisco vs. Loyola Chicago odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

San Francisco has won 4 in a row since dropping back-to-back games against the Memphis Tigers and the Clemson Togers on a neutral floor. The Dons are 1-2 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) in 3 neutral-floor battles. The Under is 2-1 in those 3 games, too.

Loyola Chicago topped the South Florida Bulls 74-72 as a 10.5-point favorite as the Under (147) cashed last time out on Dec. 7. The Ramblers have a 3-2 ATS mark in the past 5 games, while the Under is 4-0-1 in the 5-game span.

San Francisco vs. Loyola Chicago odds

  • Moneyline (ML): San Francisco -165 (bet $165 to win $100) | Loyola Chicago +135 (bet $100 to win $135)
  • Against the spread: San Francisco -2.5 (-115) | Loyola Chicago +2.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under: 138.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

San Francisco vs. Loyola Chicago picks and predictions

Prediction

Loyola Chicago 70, San Francisco 65

Moneyline

LOYOLA CHICAGO (+135) is a solid play as slight underdog. The Ramblers are unbeaten, and it has decent wins over the Princeton Tigers, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane and USF.

San Francisco (-165) is favored, and it has been battle tested this season. However, it has lost its 2 toughest games. This game is being played in Milwaukee, and it should be a mostly pro-Ramblers crowd heading up I-94 for the quick 90-minute ride to Cream City.

Against the spread

Backing Loyola Chicago +2.5 (-105) makes no sense over the moneyline, unless, of course, you think San Francisco -2.5 (-115) is going to win, but only by 1 or 2 points.

PASS.

Over/Under

UNDER 138.5 (-105) is a strong play in this solid non-conference battle in Milwaukee.

The Over has cashed twice in the past 3 games for the Dons, but the total has gone low in 5 of the past 7 outings. San Francisco is allowing just 61.6 PPG, while teams are hitting only 39.2% from the field and 30.1% from the perimeter.

For Loyola, it allows just 63.8 PPG, while teams are hitting only 39.0% from the field, and 28.3% from behind the 3-point line. The total has gone low in 3 in a row, while cashing at a 4-0-1 clip in the previous 5 contests.

WCC Tournament: San Francisco vs. Gonzaga odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s San Francisco vs. Gonzaga odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The San Francisco Dons (23-9) and the No. 18 Gonzaga Bulldogs (24-6) clash in a West Coast Conference semifinal Monday. Tip from Orleans Arena in Las Vegas is set for 11:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2/ESPN+). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the San Francisco vs. Gonzaga odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

The Dons took care of Portland 72-51 in the opening round for the chance to face Gonzaga. They covered as 16-point favorites as F Marcus Williams went 4-for-6 from 3-point range to lead the squad with 16 points. Gonzaga beat the Dons in their own building, 86-68, Feb. 29.

Gonzaga, No. 18 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll (a new poll will be released Monday afternoon), has beaten San Francisco in each of the last 10 meetings, including both matchups this season. F Graham Ike had 26 points in the last one, and he has gone for 20+ in 7 straight games. He’s a big reason that the Zags have won 8 straight.

San Francisco vs. Gonzaga picks and predictions

Prediction

Gonzaga 81, San Francisco 69

Moneyline

The Zags are big-time favorites, and there’s no reason to expect a Cadbury egg to be laid here. That said, there is no play on the ML here. Instead, let’s go with RYAN NEMBHARD OVER 13.5 POINTS (-104).

He has 14+ in 5 of 6 games and had 15 against the Dons in the last meeting.

Against the spread

The Zags have covered this spread in 3 of the last 4 meetings and 9 of 10. The neutral site could create an imbalance, but this is right at my limit for a spread. If it swells to 9.5, I’d avoid it altogether.

Take GONZAGA -8.5 (-118).

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The Zags score in bunches, ranking 6th in the country with 85.6 PPG. The Dons are no slouch, though tied for 70th with 77.9 PPG. The Over is just 4-6 in the last 10 meetings, but this number has cashed in the last 7.

Go easy here, because we’re projecting the Over to narrowly cash. But if you want action on the total, take the OVER 148.5 (-115).

WCC Tournament: San Francisco vs. Gonzaga odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s San Francisco vs. Gonzaga odds and lines, with expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

The San Francisco Dons (20-13, 7-9 WCC) look to topple the No. 8 Gonzaga Bulldogs (26-5, 14-2) Monday in a WCC semifinal matchup. Tip from Orleans Arena in Las Vegas is at 11:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the San Francisco vs. Gonzaga odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

Gonzaga boasts the nation’s top offense with 88.0 points per game and seeks its 3rd victory over San Francisco this season. The Bulldogs recorded a 77-75 victory as a 9.5-point road favorite on Jan. 5 and a 99-81 victory as a 15-point home favorite on Feb. 9.

A strong showing in the WCC Tournament could propel Gonzaga to a 2 seed in March and help them gain confidence behind star F Drew Timme as it hopes to finally win a National Championship.

San Francisco may need to win the WCC Tournament to have a shot at a postseason berth. However, that will be difficult to achieve with a defense that ranks 265th with 73.1 points allowed per game and an offense that pours in 76.3 points per game (71st).

Expect this to be a high-scoring affair for the right to play the winner of the BYU vs. St. Mary’s game.

San Francisco vs. Gonzaga picks and predictions

Prediction

Gonzaga 90, San Francisco 81

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no question that the Bulldogs’ offense is elite and it is very unlikely that the Dons (+675) will be able to hold them down and pull off a victory here — even with that pricetag. However, despite that Gonzaga (-1100) should win you should never wager 11 times your potential return.

Stream select live college basketball games and full replays: Get ESPN+

Against the spread

BET SAN FRANCISCO +14.5 (-115), although this could get squirrely coming toward the end.

Gonzaga put up 99 points against San Francisco in the last meeting, but that game was at home. This game is on a neutral court and could be much closer than the 18-point margin seen in that showdown.

San Francisco should be able to score enough against a Gonzaga defense that ranks 276th with 73.6 points allowed per game to keep within 14 points, although this should be a comfortable Gonzaga victory from start to finish. A winning margin of 9 or 10 points is more likely for the Bulldogs.

Over/Under

OVER 160.5 (-115)

The Under is usually the play when the number is this high, but points should be plentiful Monday with 2 offenses ranked in the top 80 going against 2 defenses ranked outside the top 250.

The first meeting between the teams finished at 152 points and the last meeting finished at 180 points, so 160.5 then seems like a respectable number.

With Gonzaga coming off 104 points against Chicago State Wednesday, 90 will not be hard to hit. San Francisco is coming off a 93-87 double overtime win against the higher-seeded Santa Clara Sunday. While it might start slow for the Dons, they will pick up the pace and get this game Over the total by the end.

San Francisco at Gonzaga odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s San Francisco at Gonzaga odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The San Francisco Dons (15-11, 4-7 WCC) battle the No. 16 Gonzaga Bulldogs (19-5, 8-2) Thursday. Tip from the McCarthey Athletic Center is set for 9 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the San Francisco vs. Gonzaga odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

The Dons and Bulldogs have battled once already this season, a 77-75 Gonzaga win in San Francisco. The Bulldogs failed to cover as a 9.5-point favorite while the Under 157.5 hit.

Gonzaga is coming off a 78-70 road loss to Saint Mary’s, failing to cover as a 3-point underdog in overtime. The Bulldogs are 3-3 against the spread (ATS) in their last 6 games and 7-15-1 ATS on the season.

San Francisco lost to Santa Clara 83-70 at home Saturday, failing to cover as a 3-point favorite. The Dons are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games and 13-12 ATS on the season.

Prediction

Gonzaga 83, San Francisco 70

Moneyline

Not available, but with Gonzaga 9-1 at home the expected line will be unplayable.

Against the spread

BET SAN FRANCISCO +13.5 (-105).

San Francisco has played well against top competition this season, having a 2-0 ATS record against ranked opponents. The Dons are also 5-3 ATS as the road team. San Fran is 6-5 ATS against WCC opponents while Gonzaga is just 4-6 ATS against conference foes.

The Dons hold opponents to just 43% shooting as well which is where Gonzaga is the best in the nation, shooting 52% from the field. The Dons should be able to limit the Bulldogs’ efficient offense and have proven to thrive in conference play.

Back SAN FRANCISCO +13.5 (-105).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 155.5 (-115).

Gonzaga’s electric offense has topped 80 in 3 of its last 5 games, but it has still gone Under the projected total in 6 of its last 9.

The Bulldogs are 4-6 O/U in conference games while San Fran is 5-6 O/U in conference games. San Fran is 10-15 O/U this season, so it has consistently rewarded Under bettors.

Considering the trends, back the UNDER 155.5 (-115).

Against the spread

The Dons are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games against teams playing .600 basketball.

A good shooting team like USF can give the Gaels problems. The Dons have shot 47.9% from distance over their last 3 games and launch triples at a top-5 rate nationally. In recent conference games against frequent 3-bombers Loyola-Marymount and BYU, the Gaels logged an ATS push and ATS loss, respectively. SMC also registered earlier ATS losses against Colorado State, Oral Roberts, and Southern. They are all similar in where their points are generated.

BACK THE DONS +12.5 (-115).

Over/Under

Nothing to argue here in a game pitting lots of speed (USF) against almost none (SMC). PASS.

March Madness: San Francisco vs. Murray State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s San Francisco vs. Murray State odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 7 Murray State Racers (30-2) meet the No. 10 San Francisco Dons (24-9) Thursday in the first round of the East Region. Tip from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis is scheduled for 9:40 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the San Francisco vs. Murray State odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Murray State solidifed its tournament credentials with a 71-67 win in the Ohio Valley Conference championship over Morehead State. The Racers have just 2 losses on the season, one to Auburn and the other to ETSU.

They haven’t lost since Dec. 22 (71-58 to Auburn). Murray State ranks 23rd in points per game (79.3) and allows the 21st-fewest per game (61.7). It’s led by F K.J. Williams and G Tevin Brown who average 18.2 and 16.4 points per game respectively.

The Dons enter thegame after losing 81-71 to No. 1 seed Gonzaga in the West Coast Tournament semifinal. San Francisco did cover as 14.5-point favorites, but are just 13-18-1 against the spread (ATS).

The Dons rank 39th in points per game (77.3) and rank top 45 in both offensive and defensive efficiency. Six-foot-2 G Jamaree Bouyea leads the team in scoring at 16.7 points per game.

San Francisco vs. Murray State odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

San Francisco 72, Murray State 70

Money line

LEAN to SAN FRANCISCO +115.

With money coming on Murray State, this line has moved from its original open at -1 San Francisco which is allowing for some great value on the money line.

San Fran is also an experienced group with its top scorers being upperclassmen. Its top 3 scorers are seniors.

Murray State’s leading scorer stands 6-foot-10, but aside from him, it doesn’t have a top-four scoring option that stands over 6-foot-5.

San Francisco starts 6-foot-10 F Yauhen Massalski, who will be able to counter that size, and have 3 players over 6-foot-7 who get consistent minutes off the bench.

The size advantage and experience advantage will both be in favor of San Francisco.

Against the spread

PASS.

This should be a hard-fought battle, and I would prefer the plus-money money line odds.

Over/Under

BET on the OVER 137.5 (-110).

While I like the money line value on San Francisco, betting the Over here is my favorite play.

Murray State isn’t as experienced, but it is far from inexperienced and is led in scoring by 2 juniors. Having experience should help both teams stick to their style of play.

Both teams rank in Kenpom’s top 45 in adjusted offensive efficiency. Both teams have topped 70 points in 4 straight games. It seems likely this battle should be played in that range.

West Coast Conference Tournament: San Francisco vs. Gonzaga odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Monday’s San Francisco vs. Gonzaga odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The fourth-seeded San Francisco Dons (24-8) and top-seed Gonzaga Bulldogs (24-3) meet Monday for a West Coast Conference Tournament semifinal in Las Vegas. Tip-off at Orleans Arena is slated  for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the San Francisco vs. Gonzaga odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

San Francisco went 10-6 in WCC play and finished fourth in the 10-team circuit. The Dons opened tournament play with a 75-63 win over BYU Saturday. In a league that plays up-tempo high-scoring basketball, USF ranks third in scoring at 77.3 points per game.

Gonzaga won the WCC regular-season title — and a bye into this semifinal slot — by going 13-1 in league play this winter. The Bulldogs’ lone loss came 67-57 versus St. Mary’s Feb. 26 in its regular-season finale. The 57 points marked a season season-low for Gonzaga.

The loss snapped a 17-game win streak that saw the fast-paced Bulldogs average 88.3 PPG. Gonzaga heads into Monday’s game ranked No. 1 in the nation.

San Francisco vs. Gonzaga odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Gonzaga 84, San Francisco 72

Money line

Respected analytic sites peg San Francisco — a team that played within two scores of Gonzaga for 25 minutes in their Jan. 20 meeting — as a top-25 unit. When the Dons can take create some turnovers and limit 3s, they can play with the big boys.

However, for San Francisco, the biggest of its big boys is a question mark. Six -foot-10 F Yauhen Massalski has a knee injury and is listed as questionable for Monday’s game. This veteran USF squad can be a near-1-in-5 upset possibility if Massalski plays. Especially with Gonzaga not having played since Feb. 26.

So, there’s a caveat, but SAN FRANCISCO (+750) is worth a look.

Against the spread

Above noted, Gonzaga -14.5 is still a fair price. Imagine a world where this game is played five times: the Bulldogs win twice by 15 and twice by 13. And USF wins once.

PASS.

Over/Under

The Over is 4-1 in San Francisco’s last five games and 7-3 across the last 10 games of this series.

With a healthy bit of 3-point accuracy on one side (GU) and 3-point frequency on the other (USF), look for this total to be 3-balled into the high 150s.

BACK THE OVER 153.5 (-107).
