The Colorado Buffaloes football team was stunned after Chance Main left the program and ended up at Texas State this week. Main was a returning player from last year’s team. He entered the portal following the Deion Sanders hire only to end up recommitting to the Buffs.
Now, with the season a week out, Main decided to leave and play elsewhere.
Defensive tackles coach Sal Sunseri opened up on Main’s decision and gave an honest comment (h/t Nikki Edwards of CUSportsReport):
“He just decided he didn’t want to play football (here) anymore, so you know I can’t help that,” Sunseri said after practice on Thursday. “If he doesn’t want to play, doesn’t want to play.”
It certainly was a shocking turn of events with Main, and for it to happen this late in the summer is another surprise. But, maybe the playing time wasn’t there, although it could’ve been a multitude of things.
Nonetheless, Main has ended up at Texas State.
