Saints, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell reach agreement to allow fans at Superdome

The Saints reached an agreement with Mayor LaToya Cantrell to roll out a phased spectator policy for the remaining New Orleans home games at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome this year.
Cantrell’s office had been reluctant to give the Saints a green light to admit large crowds of fans to the Superdome amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but now they’ll get an opportunity to attempt doing that safely.
For starters, just 3,000 Saints season-ticket holders will be eligible for Sunday’s matchup with the Panthers. if all goes well, the plan is for that to scale up over the rest of the season.
Described as a “phased and deliberate pilot approach” in a statement from the team, this compromise will at least allow some members of the Who Dat Nation to make their voices heard inside the Superdome

Saints rule out G Nick Easton with a concussion vs. Chargers

The Saints announced that guard Nick Easton will not return to Monday night’s game with the Chargers after suffering a concussion.
Easton had started the game at right guard with Andrus Peat back at left guard, which was how they opened the season back in Week 1.
If the Saints need another backup to go into the game, they’ll probably be calling on veteran reserve James Hurst

Saints rule out Michael Thomas (ankle) for MNF vs. Chargers

There was some optimism that wide receiver Michael Thomas could return to play for the Saints in Week 5’s game against the Chargers after practicing on a limited basis for two weeks.
But ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Saints ruled Thomas out after initially listing him as questionable on their final injury report.
It’s a bit surprising. Thomas will now have missed four games with an ankle injury that wasn’t described as particularly serious after exiting Week 1’s win over the Buccaneers.
In the meantime, Saints quarterback Drew Brees should continue to work on his connections with wide receivers Tre’Quan Smith and Emmanuel Sanders
