A former Knoxville area high school football star is returning home.
Former Christian Academy of Knoxville quarterback Charlie High has joined Josh Heupel’s Tennessee staff as an offensive scouting coordinator.
High set several passing records while helping CAK win consecutive Class AAA state championships in 2011 and 2012.
High played for the Warriors under head coach Rusty Bradley, who also coached former Tennessee offensive lineman Trey Smith at University School of Jackson.
Bradley is now the offensive coordinator at Webb School of Knoxville. There, Bradley will work for legendary head coach David Meske, who has been with the Spartans for nearly four decades.
After one year in West Tennessee, Bradley returned to Knoxville to become head coach at Grace Christian Academy.
With the Rams, Bradley gave High his first coaching opportunity. He was Bradley’s quarterbacks coach before working at North Carolina and Central Florida.
In Orlando, High, the nephew of U.S. Representative for Tennessee’s 2nd congressional district Tim Burchett, served as a recruiting assistant with the Golden Knights.
