Mariners centerfielder Billy Hamilton just made one of the most ridiculous catches you’ll see all year

BILLY HAMILTON, WHAT A CATCH

Yes, it’s early. I mean, actually, it’s earlier than early. Major League Baseball’s regular season hasn’t even started yet.

But, I promise you, what you’re about to see is going to go down as one of the best plays you’ll see all season long and will almost certainly be one of the best catches you’ll see all year long.

Mariners’ centerfielder Billy Hamilton made an absolutely spectacular over-the-wall catch completely robbing Elias Diaz of a home run during this spring training game.

I don’t care if it was a spring training game. An amazing catch is an amazing catch, y’all. He climbs the wall!

Just look at this, man.

SHEEEEEEEEEESH. This man just evoked shades of Bo Jackson and Spider-Man all in one single moment. Incredible.

Hamilton is trying to make the roster at this point and it’s going to be an uphill battle to get it done with the Mariners potentially carrying 3 catchers on their roster to start the year.

But, uh, Billy just made his case with that. And it’s a pretty compelling one that I’m sure some team will hear out. Even if it’s not the Mariners.

MLB fans everywhere were impressed with this.

A cat got loose at Coors Field in the middle of a Rockies game

This cat was everywhere.

There were a lot of runs scored in Friday night’s Rockies vs. Dodgers game. The Dodgers won 11-6, so a lot of people crossed home plate.

But no one had quite a run like the cat that somehow snuck onto Coors field.

This grey cat came out of nowhere in the middle of the 8th inning. It appeared to come from the direction of the visitor’s dugout before making its way on the diamond.

And was it ever elusive. It managed to run all the way to second base and then into the outfield before it laid down and took a breather.

What a run from the cat. Hopefully, it got out of the arena stadium and sound.

2020 MLB Futures Odds: How many games will the Colorado Rockies win?

Looking at 2020 MLB futures odds for how many games the Colorado Rockies will win in the 60-game MLB season.

How many games will the Colorado Rockies win in the 60-game 2020 MLB season? We look at the Rockies MLB futures odds, including their projected 2020 win total and Over/Under odds at BetMGM, and make our best bet.

Colorado Rockies’ 2019 recap

Colorado finished one game out of the National West cellar, going 71-91 on the season. The Rockies were the fourth-worst team in the majors against the run line at 73-89, and barely finished above .500 with an Over/Under record of 79-76-10. In their own division, they were 32-44 straight up and an identical 32-44 against the run line.

Colorado Rockies’ offseason

The Rockies more or less stood pat in the offseason in terms of its roster. They locked up 3B Nolan Arenado long term and extended the contract of SS Trevor Story and RP Scott Oberg. They lost 1B Yonder Alonso (Atlanta Braves) and P Tyler Anderson (San Francisco Giants) in free agency.

Colorado Rockies’ 2020 schedule

The Rockies will play 40 games within their division — 10 each against the NL favorite Los Angeles Dodgers, the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Giants and the San Diego Padres. They will play 20 games total against the AL West, which includes the always tough Houston Astros.

How many games will the Colorado Rockies win in 2020?

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday, July 2 at 7:20 a.m. ET.

The Rockies’ win total is set at 26.5. The Over is +100 and the Under is -120. Playing with roughly the same roster that lost 91 games a season ago with no major additions, if they fall out of contention, things could go south in a hurry. Lean towards the UNDER -120 for the Rockies.

Colorado Rockies’ World Series odds

The Rockies are one of the biggest long shots to win it all at +20000 … and they’re not worth backing here. AVOID. They will not win the World Series.

Colorado Rockies’ playoff odds

In addition to being a long shot to win a title, they have the second-longest odds to win the NL pennant at +10000 — only the Miami Marlins have longer odds at +25000. Colorado is +4000 to win the NL West, but that along with the NL championship bet are NOT WORTH MAKING. Especially since the Dodgers are all but guaranteed to win the division and are far more talented than Colorado. AVOID any futures bet on the Rockies.

How many games will the Colorado Rockies win in 2020?

Analyzing the Colorado Rockies’ projected win total for the 2020 MLB season, along with their odds to win the NL West and World Series.

The Colorado Rockies are set to begin the 2020 MLB season with star 3B Nolan Arenado still on roster, following an offseason filled with trade rumors. They seek their third playoff berth in four seasons. Today, we focus on the Rockies’ 2020 regular-season win total and World Series odds. Do the Rockies have what it takes? Let’s analyze:

Colorado Rockies 2019 wins

As per usual, the Rockies used Coors Field to their advantage in 2019. They went 43-38 at home, but just 28-53 on the road to finish 71-91 on the year.

They were 35 games back of the Los Angeles Dodgers for the division crown and finished 18 games back of a wild-card spot. Only three National League teams scored more runs than the Rockies’ 835, but they still finished with a minus-123 run differential with 958 runs allowed.

Colorado Rockies offseason

Colorado brings back much of the same lineup for 2020 and will again be led by manager Bud Black.

While Arenado remains a part of the team to begin the season, it seems inevitable a trade will take place at some point as the Rockies head toward a rebuild.

Colorado Rockies odds to win NL West division

The Rockies have the fourth-best odds to win the NL West at +5000.

They trail the Dodgers (-1000), Arizona Diamondbacks (+1000) and San Diego Padres (+1200), while leading the San Francisco Giants (+10000). Colorado isn’t a smart bet following a fourth-place finish in the division last season and with three better teams ahead of them in the odds.

Colorado Rockies World Series odds

Only seven teams have longer odds than the Rockies’ +15000 to win the 2020 World Series.

Colorado still hasn’t won a World Series since entering MLB in 1993 and this will be the 13th season since it was swept by the Boston Red Sox in its only World Series appearance in 2007. There isn’t much to like about any of the longshots in this tier and the Rockies are too risky with their best player cycling on and off the trade block.

How many games will the Rockies win in 2020?

The Rockies’ 2020 win total is set at 73.5, which is 2.5 wins above their total from last season.

Both the Over and Under are being given equal -110 odds, but I’m taking UNDER 73.5 (-110) with the threat of Arenado leaving part-way through the season and others likely to follow him out the door ahead of the trade deadline. It’s just too tough to see a notable improvement from Colorado in 2020 with so much that can lead to further decline.
