Social media reacts to Colorado’s expected defensive coordinator hire

How do you feel about Colorado’s expected DC hire?

Keeping track of head coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado football team is never boring.

On Wednesday, the Buffs signed a new linebacker and Coach Prime announced a new partnership on Instagram. But the biggest news of the day came when Ian Rapoport reported that Colorado is expected to hire Robert Livingston as its new defensive coordinator.

After playing college football at William & Mary, Livingston worked his way up from a scout to an assistant coach with the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals. Now, it appears he will be leading Sanders’ defensive unit next season.

Here’s how social media reacted to Colorado’s expected DC hire:

REPORT: Deion Sanders expected to hire Robert Livingston as Colorado’s new defensive coordinator

Coach Prime has reportedly settled on a defensive coordinator

Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders is expected to hire Cincinnati Bengals secondary coach Robert Livingston as the Buffs’ new defensive coordinator, as reported by NFL insider Ian Rapoport on Wednesday.

Per Rapoport, Livingston is currently in Colorado and speaking with Coach Prime.

Livingston first joined the Bengals in 2012 as a scout before becoming an on-field coach in 2015. This past season was Livingston’s eighth year as the Bengals’ secondary coach.

During his time in Cincinnati, Livingston worked closely with notable Bengals DBs Reggie Nelson, Vonn Bell, Adam Jones, Jessie Bates III, former Buff Chidobe Awuzie and others.

A native of North Carolina, Livingston played safety at The College of William & Mary from 2007-09 before beginning his coaching career at Furman in 2010. He was then a defensive quality control analyst at Vanderbilt in 2011.

Livingston’s expected hiring comes just over one month after former Colorado DC Charles Kelly accepted an assistant coaching role at Auburn.
