Cardinals officially add former Falcons scout Rob Kisiel to front office

Kisiel is now the assistant director of player personnel. He and Monti Ossenfort worked together as scouts on the Texans.

It was reported last month that the Arizona Cardinals were hiring Rob Kisiel to add to their front office.

The team announced on LinkedIn Kisiel was named assistant director of player personnel

Kisiel was a senior pro scout for the Atlanta Falcons for the last two seasons and, prior to that, was a scout for the Houston Texans from 2000-2007, a college scout from 2012-2017 and then director of pro personnel from 2017-2021.

Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort was also a scout for the Texans in 2004-2005, so the two would have known and worked with each other.

Kisiel is the assistant now to director of player personnel Dru Grigson.

Cardinals adding Falcons executive to front office

Rob Kisiel, who spent the last two seasons with the Falcons and 16 with the Texans, is reportedly hired to replace Adrian Wilson.

With the departure of vice president of pro personnel Adrian Wilson, who left for the Carolina Panthers, the Arizona Cardinals have now presumably filled his vacancy.

According to Aaron Wilson, Arizona is hiring Atlanta Falcons senior pro scout Rob Kisiel to their front office. He is expected to have a pro personnel position working with general manager Monti Ossenfort.

I would expect him to be named director of pro personnel, the title Wilson held before he received the promotion to vice president.

Kisiel was with the Falcons for two seasons. Prior to that, he spent 16 years with the Houston Texans. He was director of pro personnel there four the give four seasons.

Kisiel gives the Cardinals a third new external hire to the front office — Kisiel, Ossenfort and assistant general manager Dave Sears.

Texans and director of pro personnel Rob Kisiel part ways

The Houston Texans and director of pro personnel Rob Kisiel have decided to go in different directions.

The Houston Texans will be looking for a new director of pro personnel.

According to Mark Berman of Fox 26 [KRIV-TV], the Texans and Rob Kisiel have decided to part ways.

Personnel and scouting department shakeups after the NFL draft are not uncommon, especially on the heels of a new regime change, which the Texans underwent when Nick Caserio was hired as the general manager on Jan. 5. Once their work is finished in evaluating the current draft class, and the attention turns to 2022, teams make changes in their personnel and scouting departments.

Kisiel was part of the discussions to select Stanford quarterback Davis Mills at No. 67 overall in Round 3 of the 2021 NFL draft.

“We take the information, look at the board, and I would say a lot of great dialogue, a lot of great discussion with our group,” Caserio said. “Liip (James Liipfert), Matt Bazirgan, you know, Rob (Kisiel), Zique (Mozique McCurtis), John (Ritcher), so a lot of good discussions and when it came time to pick at 67, we felt that that was the best decision for our team at the time so it doesn’t impact anybody. Again, our whole philosophy has been to create as much competition as possible and we’ll continue to do that.”

Kisiel took over in the 2017 offseason as the director of pro personnel. His first stint with the Texans was from 2000-07 before joining BLESTO. Then-general manager Rick Smith brought back Kisiel in 2012.
