Former Auburn cornerback Ro Torrence reveals transfer destination

Ro Torrence entered the transfer portal after just one season on the Plains.

Former Auburn cornerback [autotag]Ro Torrence[/autotag] has found his new home, he announced he is transferring to Arizona State Saturday afternoon. He has two more years of eligibility left and is expecting to contend for a starting job with the Sun Devils.

He spent just one season at Auburn before entering the transfer portal during spring practices. The Bessemer, Alabama native started his career at Hutchinson Community College, where he was the NJCAA Defensive Player of the Year and won a national championship.

He appeared in 10 games for Auburn last season, making five tackles, breaking up one pass, and forcing a fumble. His best game of the season came in the Birmingham Bowl when he had three tackles and forced the fumble.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder was expected to provide depth behind Jaylin Simpson and Nehemiah Pritchett. However, A.D. Diamond and D.J. James both spent time with the second-team ahead of Torrence before he entered the portal on March 23.
