It has been reported that former UMass guard, RJ Luis, will visit Texas A&M this weekend, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. Aggie Hoops as we like to call Texas A&M’s basketball program is expected to bring back four starters next season after returning to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2017 season, and first trip under head coach Buzz Williams.
One major loss however comes in the form of guard Dexter Dennis’s departure after his one season with the Maroon and White after transferring from Wichita State, as his defensive prowess and offensive productivity will need to be replaced next season, as unrealistic as that may seem on the surface.
UMass transfer RJ Luis tells me that he will visit Texas A&M this weekend.
Luis also tells me that he's receiving interest from Arizona.

RJ Luis, who as we discussed earlier this week is one of the unknown gems of the transfer portal, stands at 6-7 and nearly 200 pounds, Luis averaged 11.5 points per game, 4.6 rebounds while shooting 45.5% from the field, 34.8% from three, and 78.9% from the charity stripe, rewarded with a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-rookie team.
In his one season with the Minutemen, Luis recorded a season-high 31 points against Duquense, along with four 20 points games during the year. With three years left of eligibility, Buzz Williams would not only have a solid rotational option next season but develop a player with unlimited potential at the biggest stage in the SEC.
