How to watch the 2022 Resident Evil showcase

Capcom’s latest Resident Evil showcase promises a look at Resident Evil 4 remake and more. Here’s how to watch it

Capcom is back with another presentation, and this time, it’s a Resident Evil showcase. The 2022 Resident Evil showcase promises a meaty look at two of Capcom’s upcoming survival horror projects: Resident Evil 4 remake and the Resident Evil Village DLC, Winter’s Expansion and, presumably, the Shadows of Rose campaign included in it. The showcase is nearly an hour long, rumored to run for 57 minutes, and with Resident Evil 4 remake due out in March 2023, Capcom could very well surprise us with a demo, a little horror as a Halloween treat, not unlike what they did with Resident Evil Village during a showcase prior to its launch.

Whatever the case may be, here’s how to watch the Resident Evil showcase.

Resident Evil Village’s Lady Dimitrescu gets a hilariously expensive statue

You can own a tall vampire for the ultra low cost of this month’s rent.

Sometimes, the insatiable urge to spend way too much money on junk hits like a freight train. Resident Evil fans are probably feeling that right about now.

On Friday, collectible manufacturer PureArts revealed its 1/4 scale statue of Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village. Keep in mind that this character is over 9 feet tall, so the statue is a little less than 3 feet. It’s comically gigantic. Snark aside, this is an immaculately detailed figurine, not something you would want the kids to play with, though.

Oh, and it costs a whopping $1499.00. Maybe avoid this one if you’re budgeting for the month. However, every thriving venture capitalist who can afford the giant vampire lady collectible better act fast — only 766 are getting made. Head over to the official PureArts website before she’s gone.

If, like me, you love Lady Dimitrescu but would never spend that kind of money on collectibles, watch the video below.

There are also some screenshots of the figure that are worth checking out. It’s poseable with the character’s signature finger knives or old-timey cigarette holder.

It comes with a metal replica of Lady Dimitrescu’s room key from Resident Evil Village too, but only if you pick up the Exclusive Edition, that’s limited to 100 units.

Resident Evil Village is getting loads of free DLC this fall. The Gold Edition comes with the Shadows of Rose story scenario, third-person mode, and more.

Resident Evil Village DLC trailer shows off new scenario and third-person mode

More single-player content is on the way for Capcom’s survival horror epic.

It’s been more than a year since Resident Evil Village came out, but Capcom isn’t done with it yet.

During the Capcom Showcase on Monday, we finally got to see the upcoming Resident Evil Village DLC in action. Surprisingly, Capcom led with the single-player update that was promised ages ago. The scenario, called Shadow of Rose, is all about Rosemary, the daughter of main game protagonist Ethan Winters. It’s coming out on Oct. 28, 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Watch the Resident Evil Village DLC trailer for yourself below. Low and behold, it’s startlingly creepy. Your mileage may vary in that regard, but maybe keep the lights on for this just to be safe.

Developing…

Resident Evil is in a beautiful spot these days. Between the new-generation re-releases, remakes of classics, and now this DLC – fans are eating well. Now please, Capcom, get the PS1 originals into some fancy collect. I am begging.

Resident Evil Village wins Steam’s 2021 game of the year award

Once again entering the world of survival horror.

The votes are in, and it looks like Resident Evil Village is Steam’s overall game of the year for 2021.

The Steam Awards are Valve’s community-driven shindig that celebrates games that made it on Steam each year. Sort of like  The Game Awards, but they hope you buy stuff by the end of it. In 2021, it looks like everyone was particularly fond of tall vampire ladies and werewolves, which is to say Resident Evil Village  got more community votes than anything else on Steam.

Last fall, Capcom’s president Takashi Mochizuki said  the company hopes to make PC its primary platform going forward. Any doubt that the Japanese publisher would have difficulty finding an audience outside of consoles sure seem like a distant memory by now.

Other winners at the Steam Awards include:

Some somewhat unconventional categories there.

Resident Evil Village is reportedly the most completed game of 2021

The numbers don’t lie.

Out of all the heavy-hitting games that came out in 2021, it seems that Resident Evil Village  struck a special chord with loads of people.

According to HowLongToBeat, a site dedicated to figuring out how long it takes to finish video games, more of its users finished Resident Evil Village  than any other game released in 2021. A metric that lines up nicely with statistics claiming that Resident Evil Village  was among Google’s top trending titles of 2021  as well.

Other games that managed to top out HowLongToBeat’s  list include Metroid Dread, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and It Takes Two — which won Game of the Year at the Game Awards this year.

The complete list from HowLongToBeat  is available below.

Resident Evil Village  tops around  9 hours to  finish by most accounts, so this news isn’t that surprising. Capcom was so happy with the game’s performance that it announced  free single-player DLC is in development

The series sure is on a winning streak as of late. Capcom said  Resident Evil 7  passed the 10 million units shipped  milestone in October. We also quite liked Resident Evil 4 VRwhich took home  Best VR/AR title at The Game Awards.

PopCat, FIFA 22 and Resident Evil Village among Google’s top trending games of 2021

Kitty Clicking reigns supreme.

Google Trends released its annual Year in Search results, including what video games were chart-toppers in 2021.

It’s been quite a momentous year for the video game industry, despite the  many delays  and  hardware shortages. Like a certain plumber ruthlessly squashing anthropomorphic turtles beneath his boot in a never-ending cycle of cartoon violence to rescue a princess, video games trudged ever onward. However, you’d likely never guess what games topped out algorithms during this go-around the sun.

The top trending games of 2021 are:

  1. PopCat
  2. FIFA 22
  3. Battlefield 2042
  4. Monster Hunter Rise
  5. Resident Evil Village
  6. Call of Duty: Vanguard
  7. Far Cry 6
  8. Madden NFL 22
  9. Metroid Dread

Yes, PopCat  was the most talked-about game this year. Not League of LegendsFortnite  or flipping Call of Duty — nay, it was the browser-based kitty clicker. Quite the upset, that.

FIFA 22 taking second isn’t surprising given  how popular it is with streamersBattlefield 2042  is by no means a shock either, though I’m curious  how much of that attention was negative. Bet you anything that Lady Dimitrescu is responsible for most of Resident Evil Village’s  success.

‘Resident Evil Village’ is getting free DLC

Free DLC for everyone that owns Resident Evil Village is on the way.

Resident Evil Village  will receive free downloadable content (DLC), according to a report from Capcom.

On Friday, Capcom published its 2021 annual integrated report, which details its present and future plans. Lots of investors speak that most of us would not understand more or less. However, some interesting comments from Yoichi Egawa, Capcom’s Director and Executive Officer, claim that more content is coming to the company’s games.

“We will drive our customer management to understand the playing trends and preferences of users while also building a business model for online operations,” Egawa said. “Taking into account the situation of our free additional DLC for titles such as Monster Hunter Rise and Resident Evil Village.”

Capcom said back at E3 2021 that DLC for Resident Evil Village was in the works, but only now do we know at least some of it will be free.

Capcom also recently said Resident Evil 7  had shipped 10 million copies, and the series is key to its growth on PC. Plus, there’s that whole Resident Evil Welcome to Raccoon City  movie coming out next month. Fans of Resident Evil  sure are eating well lately, eh?
