Check out Steelers LB Patrick Queen jamming ‘Renegade’

Patrick Queen is ready to hear “Renegade” when he’s on the right side of it.

When you think about the most iconic things about the Pittsburgh Steelers, you have the Steel Curtain defense, the six Super Bowls, Terrible Towels and of course the playing of “Renegade” when the team needs a rally.

New Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen heard his fair share of the song when he visited Pittsburgh as a member of the Baltimore Ravens. Now he gets to experience it and the the crowd’s reaction as a member of the Steelers when things are very different.

Queen is getting warmed up already. In the post below you can see Queen playing “Renegade” in his car as he drives.

The Steelers have been using the Styx song since 2002. The first time was against the Cleveland Browns. Pittsburgh was trailing the Browns 24-7 coming out of halftime and the offense was stuck in a rut.

But when the sound crew made the decision to play the song, the tradition was born and the team never looked back. It might not always work in the final outcome but it’s never going away.

“oh mama…” #renegade 😈

A post shared by LeVeon Bell (@leveonbell) on

Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell squares off against his old team on Sunday when the Steelers take on the New York Jets. Bell has always maintained he loves the Steelers fans and it was never about them. It was just business. But he has to know his latest Instagram is going to rub some fans the wrong way.

Bell put up a highlight video of some of his best runs from his time as a Steeler and a Jet. Nothing wrong with that. But he chose “Renegade” by Styx for the soundtrack. Everyone knows that song is the rallying cry for the Steelers and something of a team anthem.

How do you all feel about Bell using this song for his highlight reel and it just happens to come out the week he’s taking on the Steelers?
