When you think about the most iconic things about the Pittsburgh Steelers, you have the Steel Curtain defense, the six Super Bowls, Terrible Towels and of course the playing of “Renegade” when the team needs a rally.
New Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen heard his fair share of the song when he visited Pittsburgh as a member of the Baltimore Ravens. Now he gets to experience it and the the crowd’s reaction as a member of the Steelers when things are very different.
Queen is getting warmed up already. In the post below you can see Queen playing “Renegade” in his car as he drives.

The Steelers have been using the Styx song since 2002. The first time was against the Cleveland Browns. Pittsburgh was trailing the Browns 24-7 coming out of halftime and the offense was stuck in a rut.
But when the sound crew made the decision to play the song, the tradition was born and the team never looked back. It might not always work in the final outcome but it’s never going away.
