Jadeveon Clowney will be ‘ready to go whenever the time comes’

Free-agent defensive end Jadeveon Clowney stated that he will be ‘ready to go whenever the time comes’ despite his rehab from surgery.

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is still without an NFL team but recently stated his intention to sign with a club before the start of the 2020 season barring postponement or cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Clowney believes his long rehabilitation from his sports hernia surgery has created skepticism among teams, although it has also repeatedly been reported that his asking price is too high for most teams’ preferences.

“It might have (slowed the process) a little more than expected,” Clowney told Fox 26 Houston in May. “I don’t know if people think I’m hurting because of what I went through, because of the core (injury), or previous years… I don’t know. I just want to let people know I’m ready. I’m gonna be ready to go whenever the time comes and whoever I sign with is gonna get the best version of me. I’m working, I’m staying ahead of schedule and I’m going to be ready to go when training camp starts.”

Clowney previously stated that he is open to a reunion with the Seattle Seahawks, but there will be many implications including cap space and other teams attempting to court him. With the pandemic still active and Clowney’s still undecided, it is up in the air where he will call home in 2020.

Seahawks RB Chris Carson feels ‘100% ready’ for comeback next season

Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson is making good progress in his rehabilitation from his hip injury from Week 16.

Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson has been doing well in his rehabilitation process following his season-ending hip injury in Week 16. He has maintained that he will not need surgery to recover.

“It’s good, everything is smooth,” Carson told reporters when he cleaned out his locker to wrap up the season. “Got to stay patient.”

Carson recorded a career-high 1,230 rushing yards on 277 rushes for seven touchdowns and a career-high 266 receiving yards on 37 receptions for two TDs in 15 games in the 2019 season. However, he also had seven fumbles, losing four of them.

Coach Pete Carroll reports the third-year running back should be fully healed in time for Week 1 of the 2020 season and that they are counting on him to produce at full strength.

With Carson entering a contract year, he will need to produce at a high level and avoid injury more than ever going forward.

“I feel 100% ready for it,” Carson stated. “It’s not going to be too much. Nothing I haven’t done before. I’ll be ready for it.”
