Brian Robinson becoming all-around back for the Commanders

Former Crimson Tide running back finding his groove in NFL training camp

Coming out of Alabama, many draft experts viewed running back Brian Robinson Jr. as a one-dimensional player. Robinson was known for his strength and ability to run defenders over, however, it appears in his time in Washington so far he is beginning to find his groove and become an even more well-rounded back.

Robinson is the perfect change of pace for what the Commanders already have in Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic, but now he’s starting to be used on outside runs and in the passing game as well. In a 17-game season that takes a physical toll on your body, having a bruiser like Robinson will pay dividends late in the cold months of the season.

Commanders head coach Ron Rivera has been incredibly complimentary of Robinson through camp this far saying, “That’s one of the exciting things about a big guy like him out in space, you get on one-on-one, you make a cut and the next thing you know, you’re into the second level.”
