Sean McVay and the Rams have found their replacement for Brandon Staley.
The team announced Thursday that it has agreed to terms with Raheem Morris as its defensive coordinator.
Morris, 44, started last season as the Falcons’ defensive coordinator but took over as the interim head coach when Dan Quinn was fired five games into the season.
The Falcons went 4-7 under Morris and improved on defense, but they still ranked last in passing yards allowed.
Morris brings plenty of experience to the table. He was the Buccaneers’ head coach from 2009-2011 and has 18 total years of NFL experience.
Morris is the Rams’ third defensive coordinator in as many years, succeeding Wade Phillips and Staley

A report came out that Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll was the favorite to become the Chargers’ next head coach, but that quickly changed.
Los Angeles is hiring former Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley for their head coaching vacancy. He interviewed for the second time on Sunday.
In 2020, the Rams defense ranked No. 1 in the NFL in both yards and points allowed in Staley’s first season as defensive coordinator.
Prior to joining the Rams, the 38-year old was an outside linebackers coach for the Broncos (2019) and Bears (2017-18)

The Rams were already without Cam Akers on Sunday against the Seahawks after he suffered a high ankle sprain in last week’s loss to the Jets.
Then, they lost Darrell Henderson to an ankle injury of his own in the third quarter, leaving Malcolm Brown as the lead back.
Henderson was unable to return and heading into Week 17, he’s unlikely to play.
According to Ian Rapoport, Henderson is believed to have suffered a high ankle sprain like Akers and isn’t expected to play against the Cardinals in the season finale.
The Rams haven’t provided an update on Akers’ status for Week 17, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if he’s ruled out, too.
That would be a huge blow to the Rams offense in the biggest game of the season, especially if a broken thumb keeps Jared Goff out of action, as well

Andrew Whitworth has been a stud for the Rams since he joined them as a free agent in 2017, becoming one of the most important players on the team.
Unfortunately, he suffered a left leg injury in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Seahawks and had to be carted off the field.
K.J. Wright inadvertently hit the left leg of Whitworth, causing it to bend awkwardly and sending the big left tackle to the ground. He was in a great deal of pain before the cart came out.
As he was being taken to the locker room, Whitworth was emotional. Players from both teams wished Whitworth well after he was put on the cart.
Whitworth was replaced by Joe Noteboom at left tackle after he was just activated off injured reserve last week
