Raiders send five starting offensive linemen home Wednesday due to Trent Brown COVID-19 co

Just when you thought the Raiders were in a great position coming out of the bye week, a huge wrench gets thrown into the gears.
Starting right tackle Trent Brown has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list after just one game back with the team.
Not only does it look like the team will be without Brown for Sunday’s game, but Wednesday the team sent all five of their starting linemen home due to contact with Brown.
We don’t have Trent today, we don’t have any of our linemen, so I’m not happy about it. I’m concerned. I’m more concerned about Trent’s health than anything. This is COVID and I’m concerned about anybody that has it or is near it, Raiders head coach Jon Gruden.
We don’t know yet how many days the starting line will be out, if any of them will test positive for COVID-19, and if they too could miss Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers

Raiders CB Damon Arnette could miss more than a month with latest thumb injury

The Raiders got some bad news on Tuesday as their rookie cornerback in Damon Arnette is expected to miss some time with a re-aggravation of his thumb injury. .
Arnette originally injured his thumb before the team’s Week 1 game in practice. But the training staff was able to design a cast around his thumb to protect him.
Unfortunately, that was only a short-term solution as he re-injured that thumb in Week 3 against the Patriots.
If he is not available to play in Week 4, expect the likes of Nevin Lawson and Isaiah Johnson to get more looks on the outside opposite of Trayvon Mullen

Raiders PK Daniel Carlson named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week

There were a lot of players on the Raiders’ team that helped contribute to the win on Sunday.
However, one player that hasn’t gotten enough credit for his performance was kicker Daniel Carlson. He was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week by the NFL and it was certainly warranted.
With the rest of the league struggling mightily on field goals and extra points, Carlson couldn’t have been more reliable for the Raiders.
He made all six of his kicks, including a key 54-yard make to give the team a 20-15 lead.
He’s not Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens, but Carlson is among the better kickers in the NFL. He’s now made four of his six kicks beyond 50 yards in his NFL career

Raiders WR Tyrell Williams has torn labrum, hopes to play through it

Coming off an injury-plagued season in 2019, Raiders’ wide receiver Tyrell Williams was hoping to head into this season fully healthy. It appears now that will not happen.
The sixth-year wideout has a torn labrum according to multiple reports, including ESPN’s Josina Anderson who quotes Williams’s agent who said doctors suggest he will be out the next couple of weeks.
Last season Williams was to be the team’s number one receiver, but would suffer a plantar fascia injury in his foot in the first game and was hindered by the injury all season long.
His 651 yards on 42 catches was his lowest output since becoming a full-time starter in 2016
