Raiders Week 15 snap counts vs Falcons: Who took Maxx Crosby’s snaps?

With Maxx Crosby lost for the season, the Raiders gave the bulk of the snaps to K’Lavon Chaisson and Tyree Wilson.

Monday Night the Raiders were without their best player. Maxx Crosby was lost for the season after aggravating a high ankle sprain he had initially injured earlier in the season.

With Crosby out, and Charles Snowden inactive following his DUI arrest last week, the Raiders had to decide who got the bulk of the snaps at defensive end.

Turns out it was two former first round picks who got the bulk of the snaps at defensive end. Tyree Wilson got the start, but it was K’Lavon Chaisson who led the way among defensive linemen, playing all but one snap.

Chaisson had five tackles, one for a loss. While Wilson had four tackles, two for a loss, a sack, and a QB hit.

Raiders Week 14 snap counts vs Buccaneers: Another career high for RB Sincere McCormick

Promising running back Sincere McCormick sets a new career high for his third straight week.

Another week, another realization that the Raiders had a hidden gem on their hands in Sincere McCormick. The former undrafted running back has spent the past two years with the Raiders, exclusively on the team’s practice quad. That was until a few weeks ago when he was forced into action due to the injuries to starters Zamir White and Alexander Mattison.

Now three weeks later and McCormick continued to earn a great share of the workload each week. He had eight in his first career game three weeks ago, in week 13 he had 26, and this past week it jumped to 41 snaps with McCormick getting his first career start.

His numbers went up each week as well, setting new career highs each game. From five carries for 33 yards to 12 carries for 64 yards and finally 15 carries for 78 yards.

Raiders Week 13 snap counts vs Chiefs: Sincere McCormick sees big jump in snaps, carries

Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce kept his word and Sincere McCormick saw his snaps and carries increase week 13 vs the Chiefs.

This time last week, Sincere McCormick had never taken an NFL field. Then he took his eight snaps week 12 and made the most of them. He picked up 33 yards on five carries (6.6 yards per carry) and afterward head coach Antonio Pierce said McCormick had earned more playing time.

Pierce kept his word and McCormick’s snaps jumped to 26 Friday against the Chiefs (38%). He didn’t disappoint with his increased snaps, rushing for a team high 64 yards on 12 carries (5.3 yards per carry).

Both Zamir White and Alexander Mattison were inactive week 13 with injuries, which has led to McCormick’s emergence. The 2023 undrafted free agent could end up being a key part of the Raiders plans even when White and Mattison return to the lineup and beyond.

Raiders Week 12 snap counts vs Broncos: RB Dylan Laube makes impact on special teams

Even with the Raiders lead backs Zamir White and Alexander Mattison out with injury, the rookie Dylan Laube saw zero offensive snaps.

If I might finish that headline “…and special teams only.”

For all the talk of the rookie tailback getting his most extensive work in this game due to the injuries to lead backs Zamir White and Alexander Mattison, Laube didn’t see a single snap on offense. Not just no carries, but no snaps.

You might recall Laube has just one carry this season and he fumbled it.

Laube did, however, see 13 snaps on special teams and had one of the game’s biggest plays, returning a kick 59 yards to set up the Raiders’ only touchdown in the game.

Raiders Week 11 snap counts vs Dolphins: Cornerback depth stripped down

At one point the Raiders had no starting cornerbacks on the field and no reserves left at the position either.

Coming into Sunday’s game, the Raiders were down one starting cornerback. Nate Hobbs was OUT with an ankle injury. He was replaced by Darnay Holmes at slot corner. But very quickly the situation got far more dire.

On the second snap of the game, Jakorian Bennett was lost to a shoulder injury and didn’t return. He was replaced by DeCamerion Richardson, leaving Jack Jones as the only starter.

Then Jones left the game for a time, ushering in, which brought in Sam Webb, who was the only remaining cornerback on the roster. And for a time, the Raiders were not only fielding three reserve corners, but their ONLY available corners.

Those three reserves were on the field together when the Raiders gave up the wide open 57-yard touchdown catch to Jonnu Smith that clinched the Dolphins win.

If you’re looking for a glimmer of good news, the offensive line stayed healthy.

All season long, the Raiders have had issues with their offensive line staying healthy. It’s for that reason that they were fielding their sixth starting offensive line of the season on Sunday. And they didn’t have a lot of wiggle room should one of that starting five go down.

So it was with great relief that the Oline started played wall-to-wall, a rare and welcome sight this season.

From left to right LT Kolton Miller, LG Dylan Parham, C Jackson Powers-Johnson, RG Jordan Meredith, RT DJ Glaze all played 100% of the snaps in the game. This is just the fourth time this season that has happened.

Raiders only full time starting WR had zero touches Week 6 despite playing nearly every snap

The Raiders only starting receiver played nearly every snap vs the Steelers and had zero touches

With Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers OUT for this game, the only wide receiver on the Raiders’ roster was Tre Tucker. So, you’d figure he would be a big part of the offense. Yeah, about that…

Tucker played all but three snaps in the game (62), but didn’t have a single catch or carry to show for it.

It wasn’t really his fault. He was only targeted twice in the game and the first one didn’t come until the final seconds of the second quarter.

Tucker is a weapon for this team, with his speed and improved catching abilities this season. But while Aidan O’Connell and the Raiders offense was searching for answers, they oddly weren’t looking to Tucker much to find it.

Raiders Week 4 snap counts vs Browns: Who got bulk of playing time replacing injured starters

How did the playing time shake out replacing Raiders injured starters vs Browns

Due to the string of injuries to Raiders starters, the lineup that took the field for them on Sunday was almost unrecognizable.

The offense was without several starters including WR Davante Adams, RT Thayer Munford, and TE Michael Mayer.

In their stead, WR Tre Tucker saw 50 snaps (85%), Harrison Bryant saw 45 snaps (76%), and DJ Glaze saw all 59 offensive snaps at right tackle.

Also making his debut on the offensive line was Jackson Powers-Johnson who played ever snap at guard.

On the defensive side, they were without both original starting defensive ends with Maxx Crosby being lost this week. They also recently lost safety Marcus Epps for the season and were without LB Divine Deablo as well.

The edge rushers were led by Tyree Wilson’s 42 snaps (71%) and K’Lavon Chaisson’s 41 snaps (69%). Then Charles Snowden got 29 snaps (49%) and Janarius Robinson had just eight snaps (14%).

Jack Jones was benched early in the game, giving Darnay Holmes 12 snaps (20%). While Jones would end up playing 39 snaps (66%).

Raiders Week 3 snap counts: Rookie OL debut, Maxx Crosby with unusually low playing time

Raiders Rookie OL make their debuts while Maxx Crosby missed more playing time than usual.

For the first time this season, the two offensive linemen the Raiders selected in the draft took the field. Second round pick Jackson Powers-Johnson came in at right guard and third rounder DJ Glaze entered the game at right tackle.

JPJ came in late in the game, just to mix things up and give him some reps. Oddly he came in at right guard considering he had been lining up at left guard early on and Cody Whitehair has been lining up there in his absence.

Glaze came in early due to an injury to Thayer Munford that knocked him out of the game on just his second snap.

It was noted that during the game Maxx Crosby was coming out for some plays. Not something he is known for doing. It was because his high ankle sprain was bothering him.

In total Crosby missed 13 snaps. That’s a lot for him. He didn’t even miss that many snaps when he had his serious knee injury late last season. The only other time in the past three years Crosby was out of a game for more snaps than Sunday was the blowout win over the Chargers last year, when the Raiders had put the game away and his presence was no longer needed.

Raiders Week 4 snap counts vs Chargers: Bryan Edwards leads WR in snaps, last in receiving

Raiders week 4 snap counts vs Chargers: Bryan Edwards leads WR in snaps, last in receiving

With 4:48 left in the fourth quarter, on third and five, Bryan Edwards caught a pass for four yards. When he made the catch, one might have wondered ‘where’s Edwards been?’ The answer might surprise you — he was on the field. Like basically the whole time.

Edwards got the start and his 51 snaps led all Raiders wide receivers (89%). He had just one target in the first three-quarters of play. And that four-yard catch would be his only catch of the game, finished seventh on the team in receiving. Even Willie Snead (15 yards) and Zay Jones (five yards) outgained him despite playing just five and eight snaps respectively.

I am not placing the blame solely on Edwards. There are often plenty of extenuating circumstances that lead to this lack of production despite extensive playing time. Just last week he led the Raider in receiving yards (89) in a win over the Dolphins. Making his near-disappearance in this game all the more strange.
