Arkansas football set to host major recruits for spring game on Saturday

Arkansas football is set to host a lot of major recruits on Saturday. Here’s some of the names that will be in town.

[autotag]Arkansas football[/autotag] has been busy hosting a plethora of major recruiting prospects over the last month or so, and Saturday afternoon will see that trend continue for the spring game. The Razorbacks will be hosting a few big names to watch for the 2024 recruiting class.

First, 2023 signee [autotag]Quincy Rhodes[/autotag] will be in attendance as he has yet to enroll in school and will do so following the spring. As far as the 2024 class goes, Arkansas is hosting some priority targets on both sides of the ball.

Three-star defensive back Tevis Metcalf, of Birmingham, Ala., will be on hand. The 5-10, 175-pound prospect has a connection to Fayetteville already as he is the younger brother of 2023 Razorback safety signee, [autotag]TJ Metcalf[/autotag], who is already enrolled on campus.

Four-star running back Nate Palmer, of Decatur, Texas, will be on hand for the Red-White game as well as Arkansas native and four-star offensive lineman Kobe Branham from Fort Smith. Branham is a 6-5, 320-pound prospect who has received numerous predictions and forecasts to commit to the Hogs.

Another talented name to watch for Arkansas fans is four-star defensive back Jaden Allen of Aledo, Texas. Allen has visited Fayetteville numerous times and has another official visit scheduled for June of this summer. He’s high on this staff’s priority list and could be one of Arkansas’ next commitments for the 2024 class.

There will likely be more big names that make it to Fayetteville over the weekend, but this is an impressive list for [autotag]Sam Pittman[/autotag] and his staff that could mean more good news on the horizon.

Oklahoma Sooners offer 2023 Arkansas commit Quincy Rhodes, Jr.

Looking to close the 2023 recruiting cycle strong, the Oklahoma Sooners offered 2023 EDGE and Arkansas commit Quincy Rhodes. From @john9williams

As we inch closer to the early signing period and national signing day, the Oklahoma Sooners are attempting to put a bow on their 2023 recruiting class.

[autotag]Brent Venables[/autotag] and his staff are looking to turn the holiday season into Flipmas with a late push for Notre Dame commit [autotag]Peyton Bowen[/autotag], Texas A&M commit [autotag]David Hicks[/autotag], Cincinnati commit [autotag]Daeh McCullough[/autotag], and their latest 2023 offer goes out to Arkansas commit Quincy Rhodes.

Rhodes committed to Arkansas back in February but has seen his recruitment gain some steam in the last week. In addition to grabbing an Oklahoma offer, Missouri, Tulane, and Arizona issued offers to the talented Little Rock native.

Rhodes, a four-star EDGE in the 247Sports composite, is the No. 2 player in the state of Arkansas and ranks No. 41 at his position. At 6-foot-7, he possesses incredibly disruptive length at the point of attack.

Despite his height, Rhodes does a nice job playing with leverage and is assignment-sound as a two-gap edge in the run game. He does well setting the edge to help string run plays wide and displays good closing speed to the ball carrier.

As a pass rusher, Rhodes’ long-arm rush allows him to keep the offensive lineman’s hands from engaging their blocks and displays an effective shoulder dip that allows him to corner the offensive tackle and close on the quarterback.

As a late offer in the cycle, the Sooners hope to add the strong-side defensive end to their 2023 EDGE group that includes five-star prospect [autotag]Adepoju Adebawore[/autotag] and three-star [autotag]Taylor Wein[/autotag].

Arkansas target, three-star EDGE set to commit Tuesday

Three-star EDGE Brad Spence is set to choose between Arkansas, Cal, and Texas on Tuesday afternoon.

There is an old saying in sports when a team finds consistent success, “keep your foot on the gas.”

The saying is true for Arkansas Football, especially when it comes to the recruiting trail. The Razorbacks have received commitments from 21 prospects from the 2023 cycle, and are in the running to add another on Tuesday.

[autotag]Brad Spence[/autotag], a three-star EDGE rusher from Klein Forest High School in Houston, Texas, will announce his commitment on Tuesday, and has included Arkansas in his top 3 choices.

Arkansas offered Spence on February 17, becoming the 15th program to do so. Since receiving an offer from Arkansas, Spence has taken in 17 more. But, Arkansas has stood out to Spence. He took his official visit to Arkansas during the weekend of June 10, and put Arkansas in his top 3 college choices on July 1.

Currently, Arkansas has two commits for the 2023 class at EDGE, [autotag]Quincy Rhodes[/autotag] and [autotag]Carson Dean[/autotag], who both are rated as three-stars by 247sports. Arkansas has also four players from the state of Texas who have committed for the 2023 cycle. Most recently, the Razorbacks earned the commitment of [autotag]Jaylon Braxton[/autotag], a four-star CB from Frisco, last Saturday.

Spence will choose between Arkansas, Cal, and Texas on Tuesday. According to 247sports, he will announce his decision at noon CDT.
