Defensive back Quincy Lenton, who has been a member of the Gators football team since 2016, has entered the transfer portal, as originally reported by AL.com’s Matt Zenitz.
Lenton joined the Gators in former coach Jim McElwain’s second recruiting class, and his career in Gainesville has been overshadowed by injuries.
Originally a three-star recruit out of Meridian, Miss., Lenton redshirted his first year on campus in 2016. As a redshirt freshman the following season, he played in four games on special teams.

He was expected to see a backup role on defense in 2018, but tore his Achilles in fall camp prior to the season. As a redshirt junior in 2019, he returned to play in all 13 games (primarily on special teams but some at safety), and recorded six total tackles (five on special teams).
Lenton didn’t appear in any of UF’s first three games in 2020. He will be a graduate student at his next school, eligible to play in 2021.
