The Seahawks have had three key players “hold-in” this offseason in the hopes of getting contract adjustments. In different ways, all three have now been taken care of. First, Jamal Adams signed a massive new deal that made him the NFL’s highest-paid safety. Then, left tackle Duane Brown got an adjustment that gave him more money up front and injury protections for next season. Now, free safety Quandre Diggs is also getting his contract tweaked just before the regular season begins.
According to a report by Field Yates at ESPN, Seattle has converted $100,000 in roster bonuses into salary and accelerated over $5 million of Digg’s salary into a signing bonus. A void year has been added, as well.

Diggs came to Seattle in a trade with Detroit during the 2019 season. It’s turned out to be one of the better deals GM John Schneider has done.
In 21 games since, Diggs has posted eight interceptions and 13 passes defensed, solidifying the back end of Seattle’s defense. Unless he suffers a major injury this year, he should be in line for a long-term extension next offseason.
