Sony officially announces August 2022’s PlayStation Plus games

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, Yakuza, and loads more are up for grabs.

The summer months are slowly melting away, meaning more free video games will soon be available for PS Plus subscribers. So escape the scorching heat while you can!

On Wednesday, Sony announced the next round of games coming to PS Plus. It’s a damn good lineup, so let’s look at what’s on offer below.

PlayStation Plus free games August 2022

Here’s what you’re getting from August’s free games with PS Plus:

  • Yakuza: Like A Dragon (PS4, PS5)
  • Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 Cross-Gen Deluxe Bundle (PS4, PS5)
  • Little Nightmares (PS4)

All three games will be available for PS Plus subscribers starting Aug. 2, 2022. Once September rolls around, several yet-to-be-announced titles will replace them. That remaster of the classic Tony Hawk titles absolutely rules. As does Yakuza: Like A Dragon, which is a god-tier RPG. So add both to your library pronto.

Speaking of Yakuza, Sony also confirmed that eight games from the series will be available for PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra subscribers. So not only do higher-tier members get Like A Dragon, there’s also three other entries:

  • Yakuza 0
  • Yakuza Kiwami
  • Yakuza Kiwami 2

Later this year, the remasters for Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, Yakuza 5, and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will arrive too. No release dates on those four just yet.

Remember, you can still redeem July 2022’s PS Plus offerings until Aug. 1, 2022.

PlayStation Plus Essential games for July have been leaked

Reliable leaker Dealabs has revealed the list of games coming PS Plus this July.

PS Plus recently released under its new three-tier rebrand, and it appears that the games which will be free as part of its cheapest Essential lineup for July have now been leaked.

PS Plus recently exceeded expectations with its all-new launch delivering over 100 games more than originally promised in most regions. While some fans were disappointed that the service will not offer new games like competitor Xbox Game Pass, the lineup received overall positive comments.

As reported by Dealabs (French), which claims to have verified the list for the European region, the free games for July include Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time (PS4/PS5), The Man of Medan (PS4), and Arcadegeddon (PS4/PS5). Some have expressed disappointment at the inclusion of The Man of Medan as this game is included as part of PS Plus’s Premium tier, and as such is seen as a duplicate.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is seen as the fourth mainline entry in the Crash Bandicoot franchise as the Traveller’s Tales developed Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex and Crash Twinsanity have since been retconned. The 2020 release is developed by Toys for Bob, which previously worked on the Skylanders series. It was generally well-received returning to the franchise’s challenging roots.

The Man Of Medan is part of The Dark Pictures Anthology and developed by Supermassive Games, the studio behind Until Dawn, and the recently released The Quarry. This choices matter, survival horror game is one of the poorer reviewed games for the company, but still received favourable scores.

Arcadegeddon is the least well-known of this month’s free games. Released in 2021, it is a PVE and PVP co-operative multiplayer set in an arcade, with a neon cyberpunk aesthetic. It is developed by Illfonic, which previously worked on Friday The 13th: The Game, and has also received favorable reviews.

The leak is based on the French releases and so could be different from the North American list. Often though the European and North American regions share a number of PS Plus games. In France, the redemption period will reportedly be from July 5 to August 2.

June 2022 PS Plus games: God of War, Shinobi Striker, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

As usual, the PS Plus games have leaked early, so here’s the list.

It’s nearly June, so it’s nearly time for some more free games from all your various favourite online services. As usual, the PS Plus games have leaked early, so here’s the list.

Free this month will be:

  • God of War
  • Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker
  • Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Plenty to keep you occupied, and God of War is still one of the best of all time when it comes to third-person combat, action, and adventure. The others depend on your anime and fighting game preferences.

Areajugones broke the news today, and say that the games will be available from June 7 to July 5. The official reveal will likely be June 1, but there’s no reason to disbelieve this and it’s been hinted at by other sources as well. You’ll also still be able to redeem May’s games, including FIFA 2022, until June 6 – that’s next Monday.

March 2022’s PlayStation Plus games may have been leaked early

Two games have been teased by a leaker who has been reliable in the past.

Two of the titles that are set to become available for free on PlayStation Plus in March 2022 have been revealed ahead of time by a leaker who has been reliable in the past (thanks, VGC).

Since September 2021, Dealabs user “billbil-kun” has reliably ensured that PlayStation console owners are informed early about upcoming PS Plus membership content. In the past, they published next month’s free games as a simple list, but now the leaker has changed their approach after a month of absence: The hints about the PS Plus titles in March 2022 turned out to be vague compared to the usual list format.

In a post on the Dealabs forum, the insider wrote: “Hello or good evening to all. I’ve recently been interested in Ark Survival Evolved and Team Sonic Racing, and want to buy them for my PS5. Since I’m aware that I don’t really have any money, I’m hesitant to buy them. But hey, in the end, maybe I’ll wait until the beginning of next month. Thank you for your support.”

If this is indeed the new leak format from the user who didn’t speak up last month for the first time since September 2021, ARK: Survival Evolved and Team Sonic Racing should become free-to-play for PS Plus subscribers on March 2, 2022 – the date the current offers expire. At the moment, PS Plus users can download Planet Coaster, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, and UFC4 for free. The two leaked titles are PlayStation 4 games, so they are expected to be joined by one more offering – usually, Sony adds one PS5 game to the monthly package.

EA Sports UFC 4, Planet Coaster, and Tiny Tina are February’s PS Plus games

Three games for the price of none.

Hard to believe we’re already a month into 2022. Thankfully, PlayStation is here to ease the pain that accompanies fleeting mortal existence by offering some free games via PS Plus.

February’s PS Plus games

Here’s what you’re getting from February’s streamable games with PS Now:

  • EA Sports UFC 4
  • Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure
  • Planet Coaster: Console Edition

All three games will be available for PS Plus subscribers from Feb. 1 until Feb. 28, at which point a new slew of games will replace them. That should be plenty of time to download whichever of the three you’re interested in playing.

January’s PS Plus games are Mortal Kombat 11, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age and more

Choose your destiny.

New year, new you — so kick it off with some new freebies via Playstation Plus. As always, these are only available to subscribers.

January’s PS Plus games

Here’s what you’re getting from January’s free games with PS Plus:

  • Mortal Kombat 11
  • Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
  • Fury Unleashed
  • Unturned
  • Super Time Force Ultra
  • Kerbal Space Program: Enhanced Edition

Yes, PS Plus is giving away six titles this month! Talk about kicking off the new year in style. These games will be available off the Playstation Store starting Jan. 4, so get on that as soon as possible! It’s easy to forget about this sort of thing, after all.

Mortal Kombat 11 is the headliner this go-around. For a good reason, as many consider it to be the best in series history. Though Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is no slouch either. It might be one of the most divisive entries in the long-running franchise, but it’s worth checking out if you fancy a good RPG.

Persona 5 Strikers, Deep Rock Galactic, and Dirt 5 rumored to be January PS Plus games

According to a recent rumor, Persona 5 Strikers, Deep Rock Galactic, and Dirt 5 are coming to PS Plus in January 2022.

According to a recent rumor, Persona 5 Strikers, Deep Rock Galactic, and Dirt 5 will all be coming to PS Plus in Jan. 2022. If this is true, it will arguably be the strongest monthly PS Plus lineup in years.

The rumor comes from Dealabs user billbil-kun, who has accurately leaked every PS Plus offering for the last four months in a row. As they write in their recent post (as per a rough translation):

“For the fifth consecutive time and exclusively on Dealabs, I reveal to you the list of games offered with the PlayStation Plus subscription for the month of January 2022. I had thought of leaving you some games as a surprise, but I just wanted to spend my vacation peacefully.”

According to billbil-kin, Persona 5 Strikers, Deep Rock Galactic, and Dirt 5 will be available to download for all PS Plus subscribers from Jan. 4, 2022, and will be available until Feb. 1.

[mm-video type=video id=01fneweg9c4wk5v2c2c9 playlist_id=none player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01fneweg9c4wk5v2c2c9/01fneweg9c4wk5v2c2c9-a0465eb771466761de4c34fc9ceabc05.jpg]

For those unacquainted with any or all of these games, this will be a pretty big month for PS Plus if the rumor bears fruit. Persona 5 Strikers is the widely lauded follow-up to the critically acclaimed Persona 5, and revolves around a riveting road trip across a fictional Japan as it becomes increasingly infested by the Metaverse – not that one.

Deep Rock Galactic is a space dwarf mining sim full of beer, bullets, and burly brawlers, while Dirt 5 is a racer that was a pretty big deal when new-gen consoles launched in November of last year. All in all, it’s a pretty good slate of games given that anyone subscribed to the service can download them for free.

Billbil-kun claims that the reason they are revealing this information ahead of time is to help people make informed purchases and avoid jumping on fake promotions.

Provided the rumor is true, the games will be available to download from Jan. 4, 2022.

In related news, the PS Plus version of Final Fantasy VII Remake is scheduled to receive a free PS5 upgrade today.

December 2021’s PS Plus games have leaked ahead of time

Here are your PS Plus games for December 2021.

As is tradition now, next month’s PS Plus games have leaked ahead of schedule. The leak comes via Dealabs, who also accurately reported on December’s Xbox Games with Gold

Here’s what we’re getting on PS Plus in December, according to the report:

  • Godfall (PS4/PS5)
  • Mortal Shell (PS4)
  • Lego DC Super Villains (PS4)

Godfall was one of PS5’s launch games. It’s a mindless hack and slasher, but a good tech showcase for what the machine is capable of.

Mortal Shell is similar to Dark Souls – an unforgiving action RPG where every hit counts.

Lego DC Super Villains puts you in the clown shoes of Joker and the rest of Batman’s rogue’s gallery.

November’s PS Plus games were also revealed ahead of time by Dealabs last month, and you can check out those offerings at that link. Make sure you redeem them before they’re replaced by the new games.

PS Plus games for November leak

The November offering for PS Plus has seemingly leaked ahead of time.

French deals aggregator Dealabs has seemingly leaked next month’s PlayStation Plus games (thanks, PlayFront). While the listing has since been removed from the promo codes site, PlayFront grabbed the list of games before it was removed.

November’s PS Plus games

Here’s what you’re getting in November’s free games with PS Plus:

  • The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners (Playstation VR)
  • Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning (PS4)
  • First Class Trouble (PS4/PS5)
  • Knockout City (PS4/PS5)

PS4 players will be getting Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning, which is a remaster of a cult classic RPG. In some regions, Amalur is being replaced by The Sexy Brutale, an occult puzzle game.

For those who have PSVR, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is a brilliant, immersive action game, and one of the best full-blown games on virtual reality devices.

[mm-video type=video id=01fjm9r85k4n4r4mqz1a playlist_id=none player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01fjm9r85k4n4r4mqz1a/01fjm9r85k4n4r4mqz1a-8347d3ec793225fc6e36ef8020cabb42.jpg]

Over on PS5, we’ve got First Class Trouble, which is kind of like Among Us with added physics fun. Then there’s also Knockout City, EA’s competitive dodgeball game.

It’s a pretty good month for games if the leak is accurate. It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time Dealabs has leaked PS Plus ahead of time, and these leaks have been accurate in the past.

If you haven’t already downloaded October’s offerings, you have until the end of the month to download Hell Let Loose, PGA Tour 2K21, and Mortal Kombat X.

Tonight sees the return of the PlayStation Showcase, during which there will likely be an official announcement of November’s PS Plus games. Sony will also show off some upcoming titles, including Little Devil Inside.
