WATCH: Thunder’s Jaylin Williams dominates OKC Pro-Am

Jaylin Williams participated in the Skinz League as he prepares to enter his second season.

As the calendar flips to August, the popularity of Pro-Am leagues skyrocket.

Due to it being the slowest time of the year in the NBA calendar, Pro-Am leagues allow NBA players to scrimmage against a mix of their colleagues and highly talented amateurs.

This was the case for Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jaylin Williams, who participated in OKC’s Pro-Am Skinz League on Thursday. In his appearance, he scored 17 points.

Entering his second season and fighting for rotation minutes, Williams utilized his free time to put in some offseason work against fellow players.

After being selected No. 34 overall in the second round, Williams finished his rookie season by securing the starting center spot for the 40-42 Thunder. With Chet Holmgren’s return though, he will likely return to a reserve role.

OKC Thunder: Chet Holmgren tweaks ankle in Seattle Pro-Am

The game would eventually get called off due to unsafe court conditions.

To cap the weirdly organized Seattle Pro-Am that took forever to tip off and ended prematurely due to unsafe court conditions, Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren appeared to have tweaked his ankle.

On a LeBron James drive to the basket, Holmgren went to contest the shot by staying in front and landed awkwardly. Holmgren proceeded to immediately hobble around a bit before checking out.

The game was called off soon after the injury, and Holmgren did not return. There are no updates on Holmgren, but from the looks of it, it looks like an average ankle twist.

With training camp still over a month away, there’s plenty of time for Holmgren to recover from a sprained ankle, so there’s nothing too much to worry about.

This was the second time Holmgren appeared in Jamal Crawford’s Seattle Pro-Am, the first time came in late July.

The full injury can be seen below:

This article will be edited with injury updates when/if they come through with Holmgren.

Chet Holmgren to make another appearance in Jamal Crawford’s Pro-Am League

The game will be streamed on the NBA’s official website.

Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren will make another appearance in former NBA player Jamal Crawford’s Pro-Am League on Saturday.

This time around, it’ll be with other NBA players LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, Paolo Banchero and Dejounte Murray.

Holmgren previously played in Crawford’s league, which is based in Seattle.

In the slowest days of the year for the NBA in terms of content, the Pro-Am leagues allow NBA players to get some reps in against other NBA talent.

Holmgren was drafted No. 2 in the 2022 NBA draft by the Thunder and is set to start his rookie campaign in his home state of Minnesota against the Timberwolves on Oct. 19.
