On Friday, the Colorado Buffaloes received some big news for the 2025 season as nickelback Preston Hodge announced via Instagram his plan to stay in Boulder for another year.
Hodge spent two seasons with the Liberty Flames before transferring to the Buffs last offseason as a four-star addition. He immediately lived up to the hype by locking down the starting nickelback position.
Hodge’s highlight reel included numerous head-turning plays, including clutch interceptions against Colorado State and UCF. He finished the season with 33 total tackles, two interceptions and six passes defended.
The phrase “unfinished business” was used perfectly in Hodge’s Instagram graphic, as he was one of CU’s best defensive players before missing the final four games of the season due to injury. Hodge is an early favorite to keep his starting job in the secondary, likely flanked by cornerbacks DJ McKinney and Colton Hood.
