A former Nebraska wide receiver made his professional debut on Friday night. Trey Palmer and Tampa Bay Buccaneers took on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1 of the NFL preseason.
Palmer made four catches for 33 yards and one touchdown. His score came on an 8-yard pass from Baker Mayfield with 12:20 remaining in the second quarter.
The Louisiana native was taken in the sixth round, with the 191st pick overall in the 2023 NFL draft. In his one year at Nebraska, he had 71 catches for a school-record 1,043 yards and nine touchdowns.
The receiver is only the second player to break 1,000 receiving yards in a season after Stanley Morgan Jr. (1,004 yards – 2018). Find social media reaction to Trey Palmer’s touchdown catch below.
