9 better titles for The Batman sequel (that DC doesn’t have the courage to use)

We came up with some more exciting sequel names for The Batman

James Gunn, the new creative force behind the soon-to-be revamped DC Comics universe (DCU), announced the future of the movie and television world for characters like Batman, Superman and more. The DC Extended Universe (DCEU) has been chaotic at best over the past decade plus, feeling clunky and disconnected. Gunn, who found massive success with the Marvel Cinematic Universe — namely the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy — is looking to fill a similar role for DC as Kevin Feige does for Marvel.

This means a reboot of Superman (Henry Cavill is having to put down his cape despite being perfect for the role), adding a new DCU Batman and more.

But what about Robert Pattinson’s recent Batman? Don’t worry — or do, if you’re concerned that there will be multiple caped crusaders (and a separate Joker movie) — he’ll be reprising his role in a sequel coming out in 2025.

If you thought they were going to get creative with the title, you guessed wrong. They opted for the very straight forward The Batman – Part II. Since we’re a generous bunch over here at For the Win, we came up with a few snazzier names for the sequel to the highly regarded The Batman.

  • The Batman: Batman Harder
  • 2 Fast 2 Batman
  • Panic! At The Batman
  • The Batmen
  • The Batsman
  • Batman 2: The Squeakquel
  • Batman 2: Here We Go Again
  • THE Batman State University
  • Batman: Maverick

The Bachelor 2023 recap: Contenders, pretenders and power rankings after ep. 2

Two group dates and a 1-on-1 in week 2 gave Zach Shallcross (and the viewers) a better idea of what we have going on this season.

It’s Week 2 in the Forever Love journey of Zach Shallcross on The Bachelor, and that can only mean one thing: the first set of dates where we still have no idea who anyone is because 20 women is too many women to tell apart!

The first grouping of women — Davia, Mercedes, Genevie, Cat, Brooklyn, Katherine, Kylee, Brianna and Bailey  — go to a club where they meet up with superstar singer Latto of “Big Energy” fame. Former Bachelor villains Victoria, Tahzjuan and Courtney join the fun, because why not. It’s a relative dud of a date as the women compete in a “Bad [expletive]” competition. There didn’t seem to be a clear winner, and Zach said a grand total of about four words.

Tahzjuan brought the most drama of the evening as she interrupted the second part of the first group date to ask Zach if she could join the season, and also overwhelmingly insult the entire group. He ultimately said no, but Tahzjuan’s efficiency rate was incredible with enemies made when compared to time on screen.

Christina Mandrell got the validation of the one-on-one date and used it to meet his family and tell him she’s a mother.

The rest of the ladies went on the second group date, which was literally just Zach making out with each of them in succession. Honestly, that was really it.

Some Brianna-Christina drama was really the only thing happening at the Rose Ceremony, which could be an indicator of future issues.

Let’s get into the contenders, pretenders, those that have work to do and our Top-5.

Oscars 2023: Odds for Best Picture nominees, from Elvis to Everything Everywhere All At Once

Who is the favorite to win Best Picture?

The 2023 Oscar nominations were announced January 24th, getting us just a little bit closer to the 95th Academy Awards on March 12. Everything Everywhere All At Once (EEAAO) — the dark, emotional comedy that tackles family drama and relationships — led the way with an impressive 11 nominations. EEAAO nabbed nominations for everything from Best Picture to Original Score to four individual actor nominations.

All Quiet on the Western Front and Banshees of Inisherin got nine nominations apiece, followed by Elvis with eight and Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans with seven. The smash hit of the summer, Top Gun: Maverick, pulled in six (although you could make the argument for a couple more), along with Tár.

So who are the favorites to bring home the gold statuette? Thanks to odds available at DraftKings, we’re going to take a look at the favorites for each of the major categories — Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor/Actress, and Best Supporting Actor/Actress.

Let’s take a look at the Best Picture nominees, starting with longest odds and going to strongest.

Why Nike is finally suing BAPE after so many years, explained

Nike is finally suing BAPE?!?!? We break down what this is all about.

There are a lot of unsolved mysteries out there when it comes to the world of sneakers. But one of the biggest and most perplexing ones to date was this: Why hadn’t Nike sued BAPE?

This was the subject in so many sneaker forums back in the day. It’s been a question for decades at this point.

Now, though? It’s finally happened. Nike officially filed a formal complaint against BAPE in New York, alleging that the company has been using their “asserted trademarks” on the Air Force 1, Air Jordan 1 and Nike Dunk to create BAPE products. As a result, Nike says, there is confusion in the marketplace.

Nike isn’t exactly wrong here. BAPE’s foundation — the BAPE STA — revolves around sneakers that are very clear riffs on the Air Force 1. The Japanese streetwear brand has been making them since 2005. Those riffs have also extended to the Jordan 1 and Nike Dunk in the last couple of years — two of Nike’s most successful and iconic models to date.

But the thing is, BAPE has been around since the mid-2000s. And Nike has seemed to consistently let things slide. So we’re looking at two questions here. Why didn’t Nike sue them before? And why are they doing it now?

Luckily, we’ve got some answers. Let’s get into them.
