Pokémon Scarlet and Violet patch is reportedly deleting save files

Maybe don’t download the latest patch yet.

Heads-up: it seems as though the latest update for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is seemingly deleting save files for many players.

According to Kotaku, a rather inauspicious bug in the latest update for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet can ease a player’s save data. There doesn’t seem to be a single cause for these save-corruption woes, but many users on Reddit mention that the issue began after connecting their Pokémon GO account. Furthermore, others claim that simply downloading the DLC also wiped their save data. One user states they lost almost 600 hours of progress – brutal stuff.

So, if you haven’t updated Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in a bit – maybe don’t do it. At least not until the issues are ironed out. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have yet to acknowledge these bugs publically, though players in the aforementioned Reddit thread mention customer support is looking into it. Don’t worry about it too much, though – as this glitch seems to be only impacting a handful of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet players.

There’s quite a bit of new content coming for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in the near future – specifically, two new Paradox Pokémon: Walking Wake and Iron Leaves. There’s also Okidogi, which is making fans go wild.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet 7-star Pikachu raid: Predicted moveset and possible counters

The next Pokémon Scarlet & Violet 7 star Tera Raid has been revealed, and it’s finally Pikachu’s time to shine in one of these events.

No matter the game, if there’s a mechanic that lets there be special event Pokémon, Pikachu will feature in it eventually. The fourth 7-star Tera raid event is here, and it’s the series mascot themselves this time, bringing in the Water-type moves. This comes after the pre-order bonus for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet was a Flying Tera-type Pikachu, meaning you can slowly start to grow your collection with this raid.

This event is running for just one weekend, starting on Friday, Feb. 24, and ending on Monday, Feb. 27 – also known as Pokémon Day. We’ll go through our predictions for the most likely moveset Pikachu will carry and what the best Pokémon are to counter it.

New Pokemon Scarlet and Violet patch fixes game-breaking bug

Nintendo released the notes for the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet patch, outlining several fixes including one for a game-breaking bug

Nintendo released the notes for the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet patch, outlining several fixes for the monster-catching RPG, including one for a game-breaking bug. The patch still doesn’t have a release date, but Nintendo said the plan is to release it sometime before the end of February, which is coming up pretty fast.

Chief among the bugs to quash is the one that randomly crashes the game. Game Freak’s fix apparently involves reducing how much the game has to render. The patch notes mention the game will spawn fewer Pokemon and people in towns and in the wild to help avoid crashes. You also won’t see random NPCs sauntering through your major Pokemon battles anymore.

Hopefully, this particular change will address some of the games’ framerate problems as well, though Nintendo didn’t mention any performance tweaks in the patch notes.

Tera Raids should finally be more stable after the patch as well. Game Freak will fix bugs that caused communication errors and the wrong Pokemon to be displayed on different players’ screens, along with the bug that caused your entire Tera team to faint if just one Pokemon got knocked out.

Other planned fixes include improvements to the nicknaming system, resolving problems that occurred during trades, and correcting issues with the ranked system and battle teams.

Nintendo reaffirmed its promise to continue supporting the game and said more patches are planned for the future.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: How to quickly build Pokémon for seven-star raids

Get ready for seven-star raids with these tips.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet host difficult seven-star raids every month, which so far have featured some fan-favorite starter Pokémon from other games. These Pokémon all come at level 100, so they are very difficult to take down. The same Pokémon that can bring down a Dragon-type Charizard, will flounder against a Poison-type Greninja, so you usually have to create a bespoke ‘mon for each raid. This is not the easiest task, but the process can be sped up with a few helpful hints.

A new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet patch is on the way

The Pokemon Company promised another Pokemon Scarlet and Violet patch, but what it fixes in the monster-catching RPG is a mystery

Another Pokemon Scarlet and Violet patch is in the works, and The Pokemon Company plans to release it sometime in late February. The news comes as Game Freak and The Pokemon Company celebrate reaching the milestone of 1,000 total Pokemon since the series first began in the mid-1990s.

The 1,000th Pokemon is Gholdengo, or as fans half-mockingly, half-affectionately call it, the string-cheese Pokemon. The Ghost-and-Steel type made its debut in Scarlet and Violet when the games launched in November 2022.

The Pokemon Company buried mention of the patch at the bottom of a lengthy press release, but didn’t mention what the update will fix or how extensive it will be. More details about what to expect from it will roll out sometime before the patch is ready to download.

It’s the monster-catching RPGs’ second patch meant to fix some of the many errors they launched with, ranging from bugs that caused short audio loops to repeat to characters dropping through floors and Pokemon straight-up disappearing.

The number and variety of bugs didn’t stop the games from selling over 10 million copies in their first weekend, though.

When the first patch released in 2022, Nintendo acknowledged the issues and promised further improvements.

“Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologize for the inconvenience, Nintendo said. “We take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games.”

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Cinderace raid: the best Pokémon to defeat it

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Cinderace event is coming up next weekend, so you’ve still got time to prepare a counter.

With one weekend of the 7-star Cinderace raid behind us, we can now look forward and prepare our Pokémon better for the second. While we were able to speculate about what sets the Cinderace would be running before, now we know for sure what we’re up against, and can adjust our teams accordingly. For example, one thing most trainers didn’t see coming was Cinderace being able to use Iron Head, making any and all Fairy-types effectively useless in this raid.

We’ve put together some sets for the Pokémon that’ll be the most effective in this event, letting you get your hands on plenty of rewards.

You need to see this incredible Pokemon and Elden Ring mod

This Elden Ring mod imagines what it would be like if Pokemon Scarlet invaded The Lands Between, and the result is amazing, if slightly terrifying

A new Elden Ring mod imagines what it would be like if Pokemon Scarlet invaded The Lands Between, and the result is amazing, if slightly terrifying. Twitter user Arestame posted a promotional video showing several Pokemon Scarlet assets in Elden Ring, including Malenia in a Naranja Academy uniform and Koraidon taking Torrent’s place, though it’s not all fun and games.

In one scene, Meowscarada, Sprigatito’s final evolution, takes the place of a stealthy enemy and stabs the Tarnished, dressed as a student, in the back – not the ideal behavior for a beloved friend and partner. Skeledirge, Fueococo’s final form, shows up instead of Elden Ring’s many Magma Wyrms, which seems rather fitting. Meanwhile, Quaxly sits menacingly on the beaches of Limgrave, presumably replacing the sturdy little goo piles you normally encounter there.

Best of all, though, is what Arestame did to the Walking Mausoleums. Gone are the bone houses where you normally duplicate Great Runes, and in their place is a Pokemon Center.

Whether Arestame plans on making the Pokemon Elden Ring mod publicly available remains to be seen, though. It’s not on NexusMods yet, and they haven’t responded to requests for comment. This might just end up being a “what if” video, but either way, it’s certainly one of the more imaginative mashups out there.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Rotom Catalog: How to change Rotom forms

Rotom is a powerful Pokémon in Scarlet & Violet, but getting you hands on its many forms is difficult, so we’ll tell you how.

Rotom is an extremely cool and versatile Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet. This Electric/Ghost-type can possess a number of different appliances to change its type and movepool. This has made it an enduring Pokémon for several seasons of competitive and is very useful in the upcoming Cinderace Tera Raid event.

However, before your Rotom can transform, you need to get a specific item that you may not even know exists, the Rotom Catalog. We’ll tell you how to get your hands on it.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Charizard event: The best Pokémon to beat the 7-star Tera Raid

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s 7-star Charizard Tera Raid event is returning this weekend, and we’ve picked out the best Pokémon for you to use.

This weekend the Charizard Tera Raid event is back for a few days. During this time you’ll be able to participate in special 7-star raids against a Charizard with the Dragon tera-type. This is proving to be a tough opponent for many, as the iconic dragon has a powerful moveset. This may leave you wondering what the best Pokémon to take into this battle is.

When this event first ran a little over a week ago, fans had the same debate, and in the end, it was whittled down to two options: Azumarill or Dachsbun. We’re going to run down both of those options now so you can decide which one is right for you.
