PS Plus games for June 2023 include Far Cry 6 and a PSP classic

Sony announced the PS Plus games for June 2023, including Far Cry 6 and a hit PSP game, and said that PS5 cloud streaming tests are underway

Sony announced the PS Plus games for June 2023 in a new blog post, including Far Cry 6 and a hit PSP game, and said that PS5 cloud streaming tests are underway for PS Plus Premium members. The feature would function similarly to Xbox Game Pass’ cloud gaming platform, where subscribers could stream their PS5 games and game trials – and eventually their retro games as well – on their chosen device. That probably will include PlayStation’s Project Q at some point.

On the game front, here’s what you can expect to be available on PS5 and PS4 for Premium and Extra members starting June 20, 2023:

  • Far Cry 6 (PS4/PS5)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge (PS4/PS5)
  • Rogue Legacy 2 (PS4/PS5)
  • Inscryption (PS4/PS5)
  • Soulstice (PS5)
  • Tacoma (PS4)
  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (PS4)
  • Killing Floor 2 (PS4)

There’s also a game trial for WWE 2K23 on PS4.

Other games include Vampire The Masquerade – Coteries of New York and A Hat in Time, and the young and young at heart can look forward to My Friend Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol Mighty Pups: Save Adventure Bay.

Premium subscribers are getting the hit PSP game Killzone Liberation along with Worms and the rather obscure Herc’s Mission, both originally for PS1. It’s a somewhat skimpy lineup, but at least there’s something new from the PSP library at last.

Finally, Sony is celebrating one year of the new PS Plus model with over a week of activities offering incentives such as PlayStation Stars rewards and new avatars.

Best PS3 games on PS Plus Premium

These are the PS3 games you should boot up with PS+ Premium.

PlayStation Plus Premium is here, and it brings a variety of PS3 games to your brand new console. While PS3 games only play via cloud streaming, this is the easiest way to play PS3 games without setting up the actual console. At least you don’t have to install or download anything to start playing.

While it’s still early days and the library isn’t expansive, there are still many classic games to play, and in this list we’ve put together just a few of the best examples. Each of these games are totally unique, and worth playing in the modern day, whether because they’re classics, hard to play elsewhere, or are just quirky and interesting. These are the PS3 games you should boot up with PS+ Premium.

Assassin’s Creed games and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade coming to PS Plus – rumor

Seven more games have been rumored for release before the end of July.

Seven more games have been rumored for release on PS Plus Extra and Premium subscription services before the end of July.

Resetera user BlackBate commented on the forum with a number of games they believe will be released by the end of July. The user has a reliable history of revealing games in the past, as they knew details about Death Stranding Director’s Cut, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and Skulls and Bones ahead of their official announcements.

As reported by PushSquare, BlackBate believes that a number of games including Final Fantasy 7 and Assassin’s Creed titles will be added to the service from July 19. This is the same day that Stray will be added.

[mm-video type=video id=01g5kpddqj16x1v66es2 playlist_id=none player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01g5kpddqj16x1v66es2/01g5kpddqj16x1v66es2-676100fb60885d9d5ba3d910a147ebc9.jpg]

Stray’s addition is a big step for Sony, which previously announced that games would not be added to the service on their release. However, Stray is being added at the same time as its PlayStation 5 launch.

Aside from Stray, which was previously officially announced, BlackBate predicts that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade + Episode Intermission, Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry, Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection, and Saints Row 4: Re-elected, will come to the service the same day.

It is likely that if the games are going to be added to the PS Plus Extra tier it will be announced officially by next week. This would be a week before their predicted availability to subscribers.

The all-new PlayStation Plus launched last month, with a line-up that exceeded Sony’s official announcements. There were eventually 100 more games available on release than Sony’s initial estimates.

July’s PS Plus Essential line up was also leaked before its official announcement. Subscribers to the service can play Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time and Arcadeggedon if they own a PlayStation 5. PlayStation 4 users will additionally have access to The Man of Medan which is also available through PS Plus Extra.

PlayStation Plus Essential games for July have been leaked

Reliable leaker Dealabs has revealed the list of games coming PS Plus this July.

PS Plus recently released under its new three-tier rebrand, and it appears that the games which will be free as part of its cheapest Essential lineup for July have now been leaked.

PS Plus recently exceeded expectations with its all-new launch delivering over 100 games more than originally promised in most regions. While some fans were disappointed that the service will not offer new games like competitor Xbox Game Pass, the lineup received overall positive comments.

As reported by Dealabs (French), which claims to have verified the list for the European region, the free games for July include Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time (PS4/PS5), The Man of Medan (PS4), and Arcadegeddon (PS4/PS5). Some have expressed disappointment at the inclusion of The Man of Medan as this game is included as part of PS Plus’s Premium tier, and as such is seen as a duplicate.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is seen as the fourth mainline entry in the Crash Bandicoot franchise as the Traveller’s Tales developed Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex and Crash Twinsanity have since been retconned. The 2020 release is developed by Toys for Bob, which previously worked on the Skylanders series. It was generally well-received returning to the franchise’s challenging roots.

The Man Of Medan is part of The Dark Pictures Anthology and developed by Supermassive Games, the studio behind Until Dawn, and the recently released The Quarry. This choices matter, survival horror game is one of the poorer reviewed games for the company, but still received favourable scores.

Arcadegeddon is the least well-known of this month’s free games. Released in 2021, it is a PVE and PVP co-operative multiplayer set in an arcade, with a neon cyberpunk aesthetic. It is developed by Illfonic, which previously worked on Friday The 13th: The Game, and has also received favorable reviews.

The leak is based on the French releases and so could be different from the North American list. Often though the European and North American regions share a number of PS Plus games. In France, the redemption period will reportedly be from July 5 to August 2.

PlayStation Plus exceeds expectations with its games list

PlayStation Plus has been released in a number of territories worldwide, and fans have noticed that many have more games than the company previously promised.

PlayStation Plus has been released in a number of territories worldwide, and fans have noticed that many have more games than the company previously promised.

In March, PlayStation announced that it would be phasing out its current PlayStation Plus service, in order to introduce a whole new tiered package from June. The overhaul was designed to be a competitor to Microsoft’s popular Xbox Game Pass

[mm-video type=video id=01g5kpddqj16x1v66es2 playlist_id=none player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01g5kpddqj16x1v66es2/01g5kpddqj16x1v66es2-676100fb60885d9d5ba3d910a147ebc9.jpg]

The all new PS Plus would offer the old model as the Essential tier, but those who want a subscription service similar to Xbox’s offering can subscribe to Extra for access to PS4 and PS5 games, while those splashing out on Premium can play classic games from the PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP.

Previously, Sony promised that there would be around 400 games available from the libraries of its newer consoles, while around 300 classic games would also be playable. These figures vary depending on your region but according to those who have been keeping a close eye on the games on offer, most territories have smashed those targets.

Eurogamer reports that it found 429 modern games on the service, while 404 classic games were discovered. This is over 100 games more than the company previously estimated. There could be even more games included than the ones on these first tentative lists. Many titles are only discoverable through the search function, and hitting on the exact combination of capitals and punctuation in order to trigger them can be difficult.

Seemingly in response to this outstanding offering, Xbox has been promoting the number of games available on its service from their release. Most recently Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge has joined, a sequel to classic Turtles’ games such as Turtles In Time, which has done well with fans and critics alike.

Despite not containing any newly released games, PS Plus is offering a long list of critically acclaimed titles such as; Death Stranding, God Of War, and Horizon Zero Dawn from its Extra service, and ICO, Ape Escape, and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X from its Premium selection.

Every game you can play on Sony’s brand new PlayStation Plus Premium service.

PlayStation Plus Premium has already launched in North America, bringing a large library of games to the PS4 and PS5 consoles for the first time in the region, while also opening up options for cloud streaming and more. This is great news, needless to say, but it’s not 100% clear what you’re buying into right now.

In this guide we’ve listed every game currently available on day one of PlayStation Plus Premium being available in NA. We will update this list over time. Scroll down below for the full library of games you have access to with PlayStation Plus Premium.

PlayStation Plus Premium Games Catalog confirmed, includes nine PS1 games

We finally have a full list of all the games coming to PlayStation Plus’ Premium tiers.

We’ve been hearing rumors about a PlayStation Plus expansion for a while, and now we finally know exactly what games will be available with the new Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/Premium tiers.

The new Essential tier mimics what we already have with PlayStation Plus, while the upgraded Extra tier also includes an instant game catalog that includes dozens of PlayStation exclusives. However, bonuses like game trials, cloud streaming of PS3 games, and access to classic PS1 and PSP games are limited to the Deluxe/Premium tier only.

[mm-video type=video id=01fqmhspcsm008ja7k8e playlist_id=none player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01fqmhspcsm008ja7k8e/01fqmhspcsm008ja7k8e-28c1fd74a117a5ee1988272e9ff1e908.jpg]

With the Extra tier you get unlimited access to 38 games published by PlayStations Studios in the Games Catalog, including Bloodborne, Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding, Demon’s Souls, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Gravity Rush, and more. Many of these games already have a place in our list of the best PS4 games, and our list of the best PS5 games.

But there are also 18 games included in the Games Catalog coming from third-party studios the highlights including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Soulcalibur VI. That’s a solid line-up of games for the Extra tier, but the Deluxe/Premium tier includes much more.

First is the Classic Games Catalog, which offers games from both the original PlayStation console, and the PSP. The good news is that if you have purchased one of these games on PS3, PSP, or PlayStation Vita in the past, you will be able to access and download these games for free once they’re available on PS5 – no need to subscribe.

The bad news is that currently there are only nine PS1 games on the list and only one PSP title. The list is due to be expanded in the future, but the highlights of the list are Ape Escape and Tekken 2 – not Tekken 3, Tekken 2 – so that about sums it up. Luckily several PS2 games were remastered and released on PS4 digitally, and many of those titles make it into the package, including Dark Cloud, the three Jak games, and Ape Escape 2. Remasters of some PS3 games are also making their way into the package from third parties, including Bioshock Remastered and Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning.

The final word for full games are the PS3 games which you can play via streaming – you will be able to stream these games on PS4, PS5, and PC. This includes classics like Ico, Asura’s Wrath, Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, and the original Demon’s Souls, in case you don’t have access to a PS5.

Finally, the Deluxe/Premium tier includes game trials, with the first games available to trial being Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, Horizon Forbidden West, Cyberpunk 2077, Farming Simulator 2022, Tiny Tina’s Wonderland, and WWE 2K22. If you want to try those games before you buy and have the highest PlayStation Plus tier in your subscription, this is your chance.

It’s still early days for the service but the Game Catalog of PS4 and PS5 games is very respectable. Hopefully we’ll see more PS1 and PSP games added soon, because the current list misses a lot of essentials.

Playstation Plus games for May, 2022: FIFA, Curse of the Dead Gods, and Tribes of Midgard

Ahead of the end/start of the month, the new PS+ games for May have been leaked, as they usually are.

Ahead of the end/start of the month, the new PS+ games for May have been leaked, as they usually are. They include the latest FIFA as a headliner, then two smaller games in Curse of the Dead Gods and Tribes of Midgard. Assuming the leak is accurate, these games should be available from May 3 to June 7 for all PS+ subscribers – and hey, who doesn’t like a free* FIFA?

FIFA 22 launched in October last year and was pretty well received, FUT-based and lootbox-shaped warts and all. Considering it’s one of the largest releases of each year, it’s a pretty giga-get for Playstation to have it on their subscription platform. Naturally, we’re not a million miles away from the next yearly entry, and rapidly approaching the end of the football season, so it’s hardly going to be cutting into EA’s sales. Plus, with that amount of available microtransactions, just getting new players is very valuable. If you do jump in, check out our FIFA guides, including the best way to score goals.

Curse of the Dead Gods I worked on, so there’s a disclosure tidbit for you. I couldn’t possibly tell you its objective quality, since I’m in the credits, but I liked it. If you’re a fan of Hades or other action-roguelikes and want something a little different with a lovely, dark art style, I’d recommend it.

Tribes of Midgard is a “co-op game with a unique blend of action, survival, and roguelite elements” according to publishers Gearbox, which a trailer might do a better job of explaining. Despite going a bit dark since it’s launch, it seems to have done alright for itself, and a new batch of players are likely to help with that too.

All this is via the ResetEra forums and Dealabs. Expect to see the next set leaked from them in around a month.

Sony has finally announced its Game Pass competitor.

Sony has finally announced its Game Pass competitor, a tiered PlayStation Plus subscription with various benefits. These include hundreds of titles – including cloud-streamed games from PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP – as well as premium games such as Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Returnal.

Here’s how the different tiers break down:
