Detroit Pistons at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Detroit Pistons at Golden State Warriors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Detroit Pistons (10-30) visit the defending champion Golden State Warriors (20-18) Wednesday. Tip-off from Chase Center is set for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Pistons vs. Warriors odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Pistons are coming off a Monday night loss in a 135-106 blowout loss vs. Portland as 8.5-point underdogs. It was the Pistons 8th loss by 10 or more points in the last month. Detroit now has the 29th ranked defense and 22nd ranked offense in the NBA and are a team that is in full rebuild mode.

Golden State is on a 5-game winning streak that this team desperately needed as they continue to await the return of G Stephen Curry from injury. The last 2 games for Golden State saw 2 of the team’s other stars shine as G Jordan Poole scored 41 points Friday vs. Portland and G Klay Thompson scored 54 points in a double OT win vs. Atlanta on Monday.

Pistons at Warriors picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 122, Pistons 112

Moneyline

AVOID.

Golden State should win this game vs  a Pistons team that has been terrible to this point of the season. However, it is highly possible that Detroit could end the Warriors win streak because of all the players either injured or resting for Golden State. The risk in this bet is not worth the reward even though Golden State should win.

Against the spread

LEAN WARRIORS -6.5 (-110).

The Warriors are the safer pick here to cover the spread for a number of reasons. During the 5-game win stream the Warriors are 4-0-1 ATS and the Pistons are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games. The main cause for concern is the health of the Warriors and the fact that they are playing in a back-to-back after a double-OT win, which means that fatigue could come into play.

Over/Under

BET OVER 231.5 (-115).

This is your best bet for this game.

The Warriors have a solid offense and the Pistons and Warriors both have terrible defenses which will make the over safer in this game. The over is also 5-1 in both games playing on the road vs. teams with a home winning pct of .600, and 5-2 in the Pistons last 6 games playing on 1 day of rest.

Detroit Pistons at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Tuesday’s Detroit Pistons at Golden State Warriors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Detroit Pistons (10-32) open a four-game Western Conference road trip Tuesday when they battle the Golden State Warriors (31-12). Tip-off is 10 p.m. at Chase Center. Below, we look at the Pistons vs. Warriors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Pistons have won five of their last nine games despite having just 10 wins all season. They are coming off a 135-108 blowout home loss to the Phoenix Suns Sunday.

The Warriors are scuffling a little bit. They lost 119-99 to the Minnesota Timberwolves Sunday and have dropped five of their last seven games. Golden State opens a seven-game homestand Tuesday.

Pistons at Warriors odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 124, Pistons 102

Money line

PASS on the money line.

The value is only here if you think the Pistons will get the upset win given the huge payout. However, I don’t expect them to win outright despite the Warriors’ recent struggles. Golden State has lost just three home games all season.

Against the spread

The Pistons have five wins in their last nine games, but those are their only covers along that span. They have not covered the spread in a loss since Dec. 23.

The Warriors may have lost five of their last seven games but they have only failed to cover the spread in a win once in their last seven victories dating back to Dec. 20.

Take the WARRIORS -14.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Three of the last four games for the Warriors have hit the Over. The Pistons’ last game finished with a total of 243 points.

Detroit is averaging only 101.5 points per game in its last six contests, so the question is whether it can hold Golden State under approximately 115 points.

While the Warriors have scored fewer than 100 five times in their last seven games, I think they put some points on the board back on their home court and against one of the weaker defensive teams in the league.

Take OVER 215.5 (-110).

Pistons at Warriors: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Warriors 118, Pistons 109

Money line (ML)

The Warriors (-225) will cost you more than two times your potential return, and that’s just not a good long-term betting strategy. PASS, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread (ATS)

The WARRIORS -5.5 (-110) already picked up a 116-106 in the Motor City as 4.5-point favorites, and they’ll cover again on their home floor. Golden State enters 3-1 SU/ATS across their past four at Chase Center, and they’re 7-3 SU/ATS across the past 10 at home. They’re not quite as dominant as their championship years, but good times are here again for Golden State at home.

Over/Under (O/U)

The lean is to the OVER 224.5 (-110), but it’s only worth a small-unit play. The Over is 4-1 in the past five games for the Warriors, while going 6-2 across the past eight for the Pistons. The Over has cashed in seven in a row for Detroit as a road underdog, while cashing in seven straight away games, too. The Over is 4-0 in the past four meetings in Oakland/San Francisco, too.
