Moneyline (ML)
The Celtics have been excellent at home this season, going 16-3 at TD Garden. However, they’re just 4-2 in their last six at home and will be without Tatum against Detroit. That’s not to say the Pistons will pull off the upset, especially not with their 6-14 road record, but this isn’t a good game for the moneyline.
PASS on betting the moneyline for either team (Celtics -455, Pistons +340), unless you want to lay down a small wager on Detroit to win outright. It’s unlikely to happen, though.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

In the Celtics’ last six home games against the Pistons, the total has gone over five times. However, the Celtics are 14th in the NBA in scoring and the Pistons are only 22nd. Boston is much better defensively, ranking second in points allowed and sixth in FG percentage against.
The over/under of 218.5 is somewhat high for this matchup with Tatum out, so bet the UNDER 218.5 (-115).
