The Detroit Pistons (5-8) and Toronto Raptors (2-10) meet Friday at Scotiabank Arena with tip-off set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Pistons vs. Raptors odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.
Season series: First meeting; Pistons won 2 of 3 last season
Detroit lost a tough overtime battle Wednesday night 127-120 to the Milwaukee Bucks, pushing on the 7-point spread as the Over (213) cashed. The Pistons struggled to contain 2-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored a league-best 59 points. G Cade Cunningham led Detroit’s efforts, scoring 35 points and dishing out 11 assists.
The Raptors took their 5th straight loss, falling 99-85 to the Bucks on Tuesday. Toronto couldn’t cover as a 9-point underdog as the Under 226 hit. Guard Gradey Dick had a standout performance, putting up 32 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal. However, 22 turnovers proved costly and prevented them from staying competitive in the game.

Pistons at Raptors picks and predictions
Prediction
Pistons 118, Raptors 107
Moneyline
BET PISTONS (+120).
The Pistons aren’t the same team that dropped 68 games last season. This young squad is showing promise, ranking 6th in rebounding and 8th in blocks per game. They’ve been competitive against top teams, pushing the Bucks to overtime and recently securing wins over the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, and Atlanta Hawks. Detroit is 4-2-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 7 games.
Meanwhile, the Raptors seem to lack direction, coming off a 5-game road trip sweep, including a 14-point loss to the Bucks—who Detroit pushed to OT. I like the Pistons as an underdog to win outright here.
Against the spread
PASS.
If you want to take the point and a half, I’m not going to fault you, but if you like the Pistons to win just bet them on the moneyline.
Over/Under
AVOID.
I’m not sold on either side of the total for Friday night’s matchup. The trends are mixed, with the Pistons hitting the Over in 3 of their last 4, while the Raptors have gone Under in 4 straight. Their last 10 meetings have split evenly at 5-5 on the Over/Under. I’ll stick with focusing on the moneyline.
