No other player is going to get more attention than Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers heading into the offseason.
Rivers, who is set to become a free agent, is either going to return for Year 17 in a Chargers uniform or it’s going to be an end of an era.
It was almost certain that Rivers was going to be locked up for another year or two this past offseason after he had one of his best seasons yet. But both parties agreed to hold off contract talks until after the 2019 campaign.
Now, there’s uncertainty with his future as he’s nearing the end of one of his worst seasons yet as he’s been one of the reasons for the team’s nine losses, which has likely given the franchise some pause.
Rivers’ production has been plagued by distrust in his offensive line, but there’s no denying that his accuracy and arm strength has taken a bit of a dip.
When examining what the future holds for the 38-year old, it comes down to three scenarios: The Chargers re-sign Rivers to likely a one-year deal with a two-year option, Rivers retires or he finds a new team.
Since this has been a hot topic, especially among those on social media, we want to see what you believe Los Angeles is going to do within the next few months. Not what you would do, but from the front office standpoint.
Do you believe they give Rivers one more shot? Do you think 16 years is enough? Or do you think he will be playing with a different team when the 2020 season begins?
