Best bets: 2023 Philadelphia Phillies World Series odds, win total and more

Analyzing the 2023 Philadelphia Phillies World Series odds, futures and projected win total with expert MLB picks and predictions.

After an injury plagued end of the season, MVP OF Bryce Harper returned to the lineup and led the Philadelphia Phillies to the World Series. Although Philadelphia came up just short against the Houston Astros, the team has reloaded and are ready to take another shot in 2023.

With the addition of coveted SS Trea Turner added to the lineup along with Harper, C J.T. Realmuto, LF Kyle Schwarber and 1B Rhys Hoskins, the Phillies lineup should be dangerous.

Phillies top prospect RHP Andrew Painter is tied for the 7th shortest odds (+1300) to win NL Rookie of the Year. At just 19 years old, there’s a chance he could make the Opening Day roster and add to a rotation that already has RHP Aaron Nola and RHP Zack Wheeler (both +1200 to win NL Cy Young Award). The rotation and strong bullpen will allow the Phillies to compete for the NL East alongside the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves.

Let’s analyze the Philadelphia Phillies’ World Series odds, along with their projected win total, playoff, division and NL odds as we make our expert MLB picks and predictions.

Philadelphia Phillies World Series odds

Odds: +1500 (bet $100 to win $1500)

Although the Phillies have the 5th shortest odds in the NL, it ranks 3rd in its own division, behind the Mets (+700) and Braves (+900).

With the Phillies also trailing the Los Angeles Dodgers (+700) and San Diego Padres (+900), their +1500 odds offer a good value.

Philadelphia has the offense and pitching to make another run to the World Series. If the Phillies can stay healthy, they could be the best team in the NL East.

PHILADLEPHIA (+1500) is wonderful value and is worth a bet.

Philadelphia Phillies playoff odds

Will they make the playoffs: Yes -220 | No +175

The Phillies are a virtual lock to make the playoffs, but the -220 price is too much to tie up for the 6-month duration of the season. A wager in other areas, such as the division odds or the win total, are a much better way to use your funds.

PASS.

Philadelphia Phillies win total

Over/Under: 89.5 (O: +100 | U: -125)

With Turner entering the fold, sportsbooks have raised Philadelphia’s win total 2.5 wins over its final tally in 2022. If Harper can remain healthy all season and the pitching of Nola and Wheeler, combined with rookie Painter, can continue to thrive, this team could get Over with ease.

Even in a tough division with the Mets and Braves above them in all odds, it’s a solid bet. We’ve already seen the Mets lose a major player to a season-ending injury in closer Edwin Diaz. If another injury like this occurs, Philadelphia could be poised to pounce.

OVER 89.5 (+100) is the best way to wager this line.

To win NL East Division

  • Atlanta Braves +130 (bet $100 to win $130)
  • New York Mets +140 (bet $100 to win $140)
  • Philadelphia Phillies +300 (bet $100 to win $300)
  • Miami Marlins +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)
  • Washington Nationals +20000 (bet $100 to win $20,000)

With an 87-85 regular-season record, the Phillies finished 3rd in the last year, but still made it to the World Series, working their way through the playoffs as the NL’s No. 2 Wild Card.

With the injury to Diaz taking a bite out of the Mets, New York’s odds have already dropped to second behind Atlanta. If Philadelphia can avoid hitting a midseason slump that has happened in recent years, they could run away with the division by September.

PHILADELPHIA (+300) is good value for a team whose odds should be closer to +200, so it’s definitely worth a play.

To win National League

Odds: +750 (bet $100 to win $750)

Falling in line just behind the Padres (+425) and ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals (+1000), the Phillies are a solid wager at +750.

They won the NL in 2022 and they didn’t have Turner and possible Rookie of the Year Painter on the roster.

Turner (+1200) is tied for 5th with Dodgers 1B Freddie Freeman and Padres 3B Manny Machado in NL MVP odds. If he can live up to the billing and Harper comes into the season and remains healthy, Philadelphia has a wonderful chance to repeat as league champs.

BACK PHILLY (+750) to win the NL.

2022 Philadelphia Phillies World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2022 MLB futures for the Philadelphia Phillies, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and projected win total.

The Philadelphia Phillies head into the 2022 season with great expectations after a busy shopping spree to add a little brawn to the lineup, while helping the bullpen improve tremendously.

The Phillies weren’t terribly far away in 2021, finishing 82-80 — just 6.5 games back of the eventual World Series champion Atlanta Braves in the NL East. So those late-game pitching situations and a little added pop will certainly help close the gap.

Below, we look at the Philadelphia Phillies MLB futures odds, including their projected 2022 win total and World Series odds at Tipico Sportsbook.

Philadelphia Phillies’ 2022 World Series odds

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday, March 30 at 7:40 a.m. ET.

Odds: +3000 (bet $100 to win $3,000)

Philadelphia is expected to challenge for a playoff spot, and with the expanded postseason format, they’re a rather attractive value at this price. The Atlanta Braves ended up winning 88 games before meandering through the playoffs to win a title, and Philly could be the ’22 version of that squad.

At +3000, Philadelphia has an implied probability of winning the World Series of 3.23% or 30/1 fractional odds.

The Arizona Diamondbacks, Baltimore Orioles and Pittsburgh Pirates have the longest odds at +20000.

Taking the PHILLIES (+3000) to win the World Series for a 30-to-1 payoff is worth a small-unit play, as this represents good value. If I am tying up money in a long-term investment like a futures bet, at least make it worth it.

Philadelphia Phillies’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Phillies make the playoffs: Yes +100 | No -120

The Phillies will benefit from some offseason moves and rule changes in 2022. The team inked OF Kyle Schwarber, and he figures to see plenty of at-bats. The team also added 3B/OF Nick Castellanos, who will hopefully hit plenty of 3-run homers to make it 4-0. Power is key, especially in the NL East.

Philly also will be one of many National League teams to benefit from the universal DH, playing in the bandbox known as Citizens Bank Park, or “The Vault”. The Phils were just 6.5 games back from winning the NL East, and eight games back of the final wild-card spot. The offensive additions, rule changes and addition of relief pitchers Jeurys Familia, Brad Hand and Corey Knebel will help the back end of the bullpen, preserving leads while helping the Phils to more wins.

Full team name’s 2022 win total

Over/Under: 84.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Again, the Phillies won 82 games last season, failing to qualify for the postseason. The team made some really nice moves to bolster the lineup, as well as the ‘pen. That should at least lead to a three-game improvement over last season’s performance to get them over the hump.

Odds to win NL East Division

  • New York Mets +135 (bet $100 to win $135)
  • Atlanta Braves +140 (bet $100 to win $140)
  • Philadelphia Phillies +425 (bet $100 to win $425)
  • Miami Marlins +1500 (bet $100 to win $1,500)
  • Washington Nationals +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)

The NL East is basically a three-horse race, and the Mets made some inroads with offseason moves. The Braves won the World Series, but lost Freddie Freeman, which is a huge loss. That gets Atlanta a lot closer to Philadelphia than these odds indicate.

Philadelphia is the best value on the board here, as the Nationals do not have a prayer, the Marlins are gonna Marlin, and the Mets and Braves are almost even-money. You have a chance to multiply your initial winnings by four or more, and if you’re going to tie your money up for the summer, you might as well get a big payday when the season winds down.

Odds to win National League

Odds: +1300 (bet $100 to win $1300)

I like the Phillies to go Over the win total and to make the playoffs. I even feel very good about Philadelphia having a more than good chance to win the NL East. However, I am not feeling them to go to the World Series.

I mean, RHP Zack Wheeler and RHP Aaron Nola are decent front-end rotation guys, but it quickly drops off with LHP Ranger Suarez, RHP Zach Eflin and journeyman RHP Kyle Gibson filling out the starting five. It’s even worse if one of these guys get hurt, as there isn’t a lot of organizational depth. It’s even more of an emergency if Wheeler or Nola go down for any length of time.

The pitching should be good enough to be third or better in the NL East, and be one of the upper-echelon teams in the NL. But the World Series? Yeah, that’s a stretch. AVOID.
