Philadelphia 76ers 2023 playoff gear

Gear up for the #Sixers playoff push right here:

Led by the star duo of Joel Embiid and James Harden, the Philadelphia 76ers look to stand out amongst the heavy-hitters of the Eastern Conference during the 2023 NBA playoffs.

The Sixers’ opening series felt like a long time coming, too. Philadelphia faces Harden’s former team, the Brooklyn Nets.

However, it’s not quite the Nets team one would have envisioned facing over a year ago when Harden was traded to the 76ers. Sent in the other direction was Ben Simmons, who is out with a back issue. No Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving on the other sideline, either.

But Brooklyn’s defensive might is led by Philadelphia native Mikal Bridges, who attended Villanova and was eventually drafted by the 76ers.

There will be no easy outs in the postseason, and the best thing you can do for your Sixers is support them harder now than ever.

Prediction

76ers 112, Nets 100

Moneyline (ML)

The Nets (+190) are coming off a 110-102 road loss against the Toronto Raptors Saturday. The 76ERS (-239) come in on a five-game winning streak and they had Saturday off following a 116-109 home win over the New Orleans Pelicans Friday.

Philly is just 6-7 on the road for the season while Brooklyn is 7-5 at home. The Sixers outscore their opponents by 6.2 points per game. The Nets are outscored by an average of 0.8 PPG. Brooklyn continues to miss LeVert and Irving. It doesn’t have enough balance on the offensive end behind PG Spencer Dinwiddie, who has led the team in scoring each of the last three games.

Against the Spread (ATS)

Get better value on the 76ERS (-4.5, -125) when backing them to win by at least 5 points. The Nets are 13-12 against the spread overall and 7-5 ATS at home while the 76ers are 12-12-3 overall and 5-7-1 on the road, but each of Brooklyn’s last two losses was decided by a margin of at least 5 points. Each of Philly’s last five wins was decided by 5 or more points.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the UNDER 217.5 (-115). It’s a number the Nets fell short of Saturday night and they’ve now played to the Under in three of their last four games. The Sixers are just 12-14-1 against the projected totals this year while falling an average of 1 point shy of the number. Brooklyn hit the Under in the second half of both of its back-to-backs this season.
