Philadelphia 76ers at Atlanta Hawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Atlanta Hawks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Philadelphia 76ers (52-28) visit the Atlanta Hawks (41-39) on Friday. Tip from State Farm Arena is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the 76ers vs. Hawks odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Philadelphia fell 129-101 to the Miami Heat Thursday, failing to cover as a 2.5-point home favorite. The Sixers are 4-6 straight up (SU) and 4-6 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 games. They are 46-34 ATS on the year.

Atlanta picked up its 3rd straight win when it beat the Washington Wizards 134-116 Wednesday as a 12.5-point home favorite. The Hawks are 6-4 SU and 5-5 ATS in their last 10 games, sitting at 36-44 ATS this season.

This will be the 4th meeting — and first since November — between these teams this season with Philadelphia having a 2-1 advantage SU and ATS. The Under has cashed in 2 of the 3 meetings.

76ers at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

76ers 115, Hawks 109

Moneyline

BET 76ERS (+375).

Despite that the Sixers are 4-6 in their last 10 games, they are 3-2 in their last 5 — including an impressive victory against the Boston Celtics. C Joel Embiid is expected to miss Friday’s game per the Philadelphia Inquirer, but I still think that the 76ers can beat the Hawks. Embiid is a major piece to be missing, but if the rest of the squad doesn’t sit out for rest I believe they can still get this done.

Philadelphia ranks 7th in field goal percentage (48.6%) and 1st in 3-point field goal percentage (38.5%) while Atlanta ranks just 25th defensively in opponent field goal percentage (48.6%) and 9th in opponent 3-point field goal percentage (35.3). The 76ers also have a net rating of 3.1 (3rd) while the Hawks have a net rating of 0.3 (17th).

Against the spread

If you are not as confident in an outright victory with the better odds on the moneyline, then the 76ERS +10.5 (-110) spread is definitely worth a play.

The Hawks are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600 and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games against a team with a winning road record. They are also just 1-3 ATS this season while playing as 10-12-point favorites.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 235.5 (-105).

The Under is 8-1 in the Sixers’ last 9 games against a team with a winning outright record, 4-1 in their last 5 games following an outright loss and 4-1 in their last 5 games when their opponent allows 100 or more points in their previous game.

The Under is 8-1 in the Hawks’ last 9 games against a team with a winning outright record, 4-0 in their last 4 Friday games and 3-2-1 in their last 6 games.

Philadelphia 76ers at Atlanta Hawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Atlanta Hawks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Philadelphia 76ers (5-6) are set to take on the Atlanta Hawks (7-4) Thursday at State Farm Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (NBATV). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the 76ers vs. Hawks odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The 76ers defeated the Phoenix Suns 100-88 Monday to cover as 1.5-point underdogs at home. Philadelphia was on a 2-game losing skid before beating Phoenix, so it was a much-needed victory as they try to get above .500.

The Hawks are on the 2nd leg of a back-to-back after losing to the Utah Jazz 125-119 Wednesday, failing to cover as 4.5-point home favorites. Atlanta had a 3-game win streak going before the loss, with double-digit wins over the Milwaukee Bucks (117-98, Monday) and the New York Knicks (112-99, Nov. 2).

76ers at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Hawks 115, 76ers 109

Moneyline

I’ll take HAWKS (-117) at home even though it could be a close game. Atlanta is on a back-to-back, but they’ll be playing at home for the 2nd straight day and the Hawks will be looking to bounce back following a loss to the Jazz.

Against the spread

HAWKS -1.5 (-108) makes sense considering that I have Atlanta winning Thursday. The Hawks should be able to win by at least 1 basket in a game where the 76ers will still be without Harden, who was playing well before he got injured.

The Hawks are 12-3 ATS in their last 15 home games against a team with a winning road record, dating back to last season. Meanwhile, the 76ers are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 meetings against the Hawks in Atlanta.

Over/Under

OVER 222.5 (-110) is where I’m leaning with the current trends for both teams. While Philadelphia plays at the 2nd-slowest pace in the NBA, Atlanta plays at the 7th-fastest pace.

The 76ers have hit the Over in each of their last 5 games following a straight-up win. The Hawks have hit the Over in 7 of their last 9 games overall.

Philadelphia 76ers at Atlanta Hawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Atlanta Hawks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Philadelphia 76ers (11-11) travel to State Farm Arena Friday to take on the Atlanta Hawks (12-10). Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the 76ers vs. Hawks odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

It’s been a tough ride for the Philadelphia 76ers so far this season. Their record has plummeted as C Joel Embiid — an MVP finalist a season ago — has been limited to just 12 games. Embiid is back to full strength but the Sixers are still just 1-2 since his return, losing both games by 1 point.

Philadelphia is 11-11 against the spread (ATS) while Atlanta comes in at 10-12 ATS.

Led by star G Trae Young, the Hawks are coming off a big-time road win over the Indiana Pacers. They’re without two key starters Friday but will still enter as home favorites.

76ers at Hawks odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

76ers 107, Hawks 104

Money line

“LEAN” to the 76ERS (+110) as the best bet. The Sixers were 3-7 without Embiid but are 8-4 with him in the lineup.

He’s the reason they finished with the best record in the Eastern Conference last season. Philadelphia was 2-1 in Atlanta during the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals last season.

These teams match up well, but given the impact of the rule changes, it should be easier for G Matisse Thybulle to slow down Young. His length should limit the star guard.

The Sixers are one of the more efficient teams in the NBA and have the league’s third-best turnover rate. The Hawks rank atop the league, making this game more than likely a slower-paced game.

This is really a coin flip game, but given the two key injuries for Atlanta and Philly’s defensive prowess, the Sixers should be able to come out on top.

Against the spread

PASS on the spread. While it seems Philly has played a couple of one-point games lately, they aren’t that common, and I’ll take the marginally better value on the money line.

Over/Under

BET on the UNDER 215.5 (-125) as the best bet in this game.

Both these teams don’t turn the ball over and when you couple that with how the Sixers should aim to take Young out of the game and make F John Collins beat them, the Under feels like the better play.

The Sixers play at a super slow pace with Embiid in the game, typically running their offense through his halfcourt dominance. That bodes well for them and their shooters but not for points as it typically runs the clock down.

Philadelphia is coming off a game at the Boston Celtics where neither side put up 90 points, and I think the Sixers and Hawks will struggle to put up points Friday, although it should still be a highly entertaining battle.

Philadelphia 76ers at Atlanta Hawks Game 6 odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Atlanta Hawks Game 6 odds and lines, with NBA picks, tips and predictions.

The Philadelphia 76ers are back in Atlanta to take on the Atlanta Hawks in Game 6 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series Friday. The game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip-off at State Farm Arena. Below, we analyze the 76ers-Hawks odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

For Philadelphia, Game 5 was an absolute catastrophe. C Joel Embiid came out red hot, helping the Sixers take a 22-point lead to halftime. Philly was minus-4 in the fourth quarter, scoring 25 points and allowing 29 points.

Then the fourth quarter hit and the buckets started to drop for Atlanta with little resistance and no response. Atlanta outscored Philly by 21 points in the final session and won the game 109-106 despite a combined 73 points from 76ers G Seth Curry and Embiid.

G Trae Young had 39 points of his own and was instrumental in leading the comeback. Now, both teams are back in the “A”, where they split Games 3 and 4.

The No. 1 seed is on the brink of elimination for the first time this postseason.

Prediction

76ers 110, Hawks 104

Money line (ML)

BET on the 76ERS (-155) as the pressure is going to be on and Embiid should be unstoppable. There’s no denying he didn’t take over down the stretch last game, and that should change.

The No. 2 MVP candidate has to be dominant and PG Ben Simmons must improve. I’d imagine head coach Doc Rivers has something up his sleeve as well, whether that’s giving SG Tyrese Maxey or SG Shake Milton more time.

The Sixers haven’t been great on the road, but they should come out on top in Game 6. After getting up 22 points in Game 5, the Sixers let up, and I wouldn’t expect them to be that relaxed when facing elimination.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

“LEAN” to the 76ERS -3 (-110) because, as noted, the Sixers should come out hot. With Hawks SG Bogdan Bogdanović struggling to find his rhythm, the Hawks will need to come out on fire to keep the more aggressive Sixers team down.

I’d bet against the young team figuring out how to close out the Eastern Conference’s top seed.

The refs will also be a huge factor as Young attempted 19 free throws last outing. If that happens again, the Hawks will have a shot, but given he hadn’t hit double-figure attempts in the series until that game, it’s doubtful.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the UNDER 221.5 (-110) because each team has shown weaknesses. SG Kevin Huerter, Young and Bogdanovic have all struggled this series. PF John Collins has been non-existent at times as well.

On the series, the Hawks and Sixers have combined for 220 or more points three times and fell short twice. Last game hit the Under, despite a 40-point fourth quarter from Atlanta, as the Sixers tallied 19 points in the final 12 minutes.

Philadelphia 76ers at Atlanta Hawks Game 4 odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Atlanta Hawks at Philadelphia 76ers Game 4 NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The 1-seed Philadelphia 76ers and 5-seed Atlanta Hawks play Game 4 of their Eastern Conference second-round series Monday at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the 76ers vs. Hawks odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Hawks surprised the 76ers in Game 1, 128-124, seizing home-court advantage in this series. However, they lost both Games 2 and 3, giving the advantage right back to the Sixers.

Philadelphia scooped up a 127-111 win in Game 3 in Atlanta for their second consecutive cover. The Over has connected in five of the past six playoff games for Philly, too.

76ers at Hawks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

76ers 119, Hawks 110

Money line (ML)

The 76ERS (-165) aren’t terribly expensive if you just want to bet them straight up and forget about having to worry about a cover. While covers haven’t been a problem in the past two outings, with a margin of victory by 16 in each game, you have to figure Philly hasn’t seen the best of the Hawks (+135) in Atlanta yet.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

76ERS -3.5 (-110) is the play there after dusting the Hawks +3.5 (-110) by 16 points in both Games 2 and 3. The two non-covers snapped a 4-0 ATS run in the playoffs for Atlanta. The Hawks should be a lot better in Game 4, and they’re not dead in this series yet. While I don’t expect a win or cover by the home side, I do think Atlanta plays the full 48 minutes in this one.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 224.5 (-115) is the lean here as Philadelphia has been frequently ticking off Over results lately. The Over cashed in both Games 1 and 3, and the Over is 5-1 across the past six for Philly. The Over is also 8-3 in the past 11 meetings between these teams in Atlanta, including Game 3.

Philadelphia 76ers at Atlanta Hawks Game 3 odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Atlanta Hawks Game 3 odds and lines, with NBA picks, tips and predictions.

The Philadelphia 76ers travel down to the “A” to take on the Atlanta Hawks Friday for Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals, which is tied 1-1 in the best-of-7 series. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at Philips Arena. Below, we analyze the 76ers vs. Hawks odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Sixers will take to the road for the first time in the series.

They were 1-1 on the road in their opening series against the Washington Wizards and were just 20-16 away from the Wells Fargo Center during the regular season.

As for the Hawks, they’ll be hoping to maintain home-court advantage. Despite struggling to keep up early in Game 2, the Hawks clawed their way back in the game, making it a competitive second half.

Atlanta is undefeated at home in the postseason, defeating the New York Knicks in two games.

76ers at Hawks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Sixers 116, Hawks 110

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” SIXERS (-125) because they should prove they’re the superior team.

Embiid has averaged 39.5 points per game through the first two games, and there’s no reason to think he’ll be slowing down in Game 3. He’s listed as questionable, but everyone is fully expecting him to take the court.

Embiid shot at least 15 free throws in both meetings. He sank a career-high 85.9% percent from the line this season, so his dominance in this series should continue.

In Game 2, the Hawks lost by 16, but had one less made 3. Even if they can keep up with the Sixers, it may not be enough if they can’t contain Embiid. I’d put my money on the team that had a top-three MVP candidate.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

BET SIXERS -1.5 (-110) because it’s the best value on the table.

The Sixers were taken off guard by the Hawks’ skill in Game 1. They found their footing in Game 2, and they’re the more physical team.

PF Tobias Harris got whatever he wanted in the first quarter of Game 2, and he quickly got the Sixers up to speed. Harris’ performances truly highlight how crippling the loss of Hunter has been.

Atlanta PG Trae Young actually didn’t play well at home in the first round, averaging under 25 points per game (at 24.0 PPG). He was involved in the offense though, assisting for 23 buckets through the two games.

The Sixers had two one-point wins this season. The value is in betting them to win by more than one.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS as both teams have been streaky when it comes to over/unders.

The over is where the Hawks can shine though.

Playing a top-five defense in the first round, their playoff numbers aren’t a replica of how skilled this team truly is. They put up almost 130 points in Game 1 vs. Philly, but after putting up a 70 in the first half, they were destined to cool off.

The Over is 1-1 in this series. Philly is 39-40 O/U on the season, including the playoffs, while Atlanta is 37-42 O/U.

Neither team has consistently beaten their Over. For that reason, if there’s a play that must be made, it should be the Under, but even that is risky given the superstar talent that will take the court.
