B/R somehow thinks Joel Embiid to Brooklyn could happen

Bleacher Report somehow thinks the Philadelphia 76ers would consider trading Joel Embiid.

The Brooklyn Nets’ 2019-20 season didn’t go as planned, but that’s largely the result of injuries — particularly Kevin Durant’s before he signed with the team.

The Philadelphia 76ers’ 2019-20 didn’t go as planned in part because of Ben Simmons’ untimely injury before the 2020 NBA Playoffs, and Brett Brown got the boot as a result.

Still, the Sixers need their two superstars, Simmons and Joel Embiid, in order to contend in the future.

Yet Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report somehow sees a scenario where Embiid gets traded — to the Nets, no less.

Hughes’ suggested that the Sixers send Embiid to Brooklyn in exchange for Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen, the Nets’ 2020 first-round pick (No. 19) and their 2022 first-round pick.

As good as Embiid is, this move wouldn’t work well for the Nets. He’s a good low-post scorer and a rim protector, but Brooklyn needs the lane clear so their playmakers to create offense.

And with Big 3’s, one player always has to take a step back on the offensive end. Embiid would have to in this case, and that seems like a nonstarter for a 26-year-old superstar.
