Scottie Scheffler extends lead in all-time money won at WM Phoenix Open

Scheffler has won nearly $6 million at the WM Phoenix Open.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — It took just four appearances in the WM Phoenix Open for Scottie Scheffler to become the tournament’s all-time leading money winner. A year ago, the $3.6 million first-place check – it was a signature event in 2023 – put him at $5.3 million and vaulted him past Phil Mickelson, who made 30 visits to TPC Scottsdale and earned just short of $4.2 million.

Scheffler, who went back-to-back in 2022 and 2023, was unable to join Arnold Palmer in the tournament’s three-peat category in 2024 but he did tie for third with good friend Sam Burns, a finish that netted each $519,200.

That brings his career earnings total at the WM Phoenix Open to $5,824,541.

Nick Taylor, who won $2,180,000 a year ago for finishing second, banked $1,584,000 million for winning it this time in around, surviving a playoff against Charley Hoffman. Taylor’s Phoenix Open total is now $3,826,219, which ranks third all-time in the tournament. Rickie Fowler is fourth at $3,755,913.

2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am prize money payouts for each PGA Tour player

Clark is just shy of $20 million in career earnings after the win.

Wyndham Clark won his first signature event on the PGA Tour on Sunday and even though it was weather-shortened to 54 holes, he still banked a cool $3.6 million for his work.

The 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am, which went to a Monday finish a year ago, was set to do so once again after the field woke up to brutal winds and rain.

After a couple of delays, the PGA Tour eventually decided to declare Clark the winner due to the prospect of more of the same Monday. He is the first winner of the event after 54 holes since Dustin Johnson in 2009.

The winner of the U.S. Open in Los Angeles last summer, Clark now has three PGA Tour wins. The first-place check brings his career on-course earnings to just shy of $20 million at $19,454,055, good for 92nd on the PGA Tour’s all-time money list, just ahead of Tim Herron and past Jeff Maggert and David Duval among others.

It pays to play well on the PGA Tour. Just ask this week’s winner, Matthieu Pavon.

The 31-year-old rookie became the first player from France to win on the PGA Tour with his 72nd hole birdie on Saturday at the 2024 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. Pavon had five birdies in his closing 3-under 69, none more important than his great putt on the 18th hole for his first Tour victory and second worldwide win in the past four months.

Pavon will take home $1.62 million for his efforts. Meanwhile, 22-year-old Nicolai Hojgaard, who was on the 2023 European Ryder Cup team, made birdie on the final hole to take solo second and a check for $981,000.

With $9 million up for grabs, check out how much money each PGA Tour player earned this week at the 2024 Farmers Insurance Open.

2024 The American Express prize money payouts for each PGA Tour player (but not winner Nick Dunlap)

It pays to play well on the PGA Tour (or to finish second when the winner is an amateur).

It pays to play well on the PGA Tour. Just don’t ask this week’s winner, Nick Dunlap.

The Alabama sophomore won the 2024 The American Express at the Pete Dye Stadium Course at PGA West in La Quinta, California, at 29 under after a 2-under 70 on Sunday. As an amateur, Dunlap isn’t able to earn money off his win, which would have been a whopping $1.5 million. Instead, that money goes to runner-up Christiaan Bezuidenhout, who made a birdie at the last to finish alone at 28 under. Kevin Yu, Xander Schauffele and Justin Thomas finished T-3 at 27 under and each will take home $635,600.

With $8.4 million up for grabs, check out how much money each PGA Tour player earned this week at the 2024 The American Express.
