2021 World Wide Technology Championship odds, picks and PGA Tour predictions

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 World Wide Technology Championship, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

Many of the biggest names in golf will be back in the field this week at the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba. It’s still early in the 2021-2022 season, but the stars are beginning to build up their schedule this fall. Below, we look at the 2021 World Wide Technology Championship odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

Justin Thomas headlines the field this week, coming in at No. 10 in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. Viktor Hovland, the defending champion and Golfweek/Sagarin’s No. 3 golfer, is also back in the field at the WWTC. Other notable players include Shane Lowry, Patrick Reed, Tony Finau and Brooks Koepka.

The tour will set up shop at the Greg Norman-designed El Camaleón Golf Course. At 7,017 yards it’s another shorter course for the second straight week, emphasizing the importance of hitting fairways and greens with long-bombers not gaining as much of an advantage as they do on longer tracks.

2021 World Wide Technology Championship picks – Favorite

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 8:40 a.m. ET.

Viktor Hovland (+2000)

Hovland plotted his way around this very course last season as he secured his victory with a 20-under finish. He shot under 70 in all four rounds, including a Sunday score of 65 to hold off Aaron Wise. Hovland is excellent off the tee and is one of the best ball-strikers in the world, so he’s a perfect fit for this tricky course.

I like Hovland to win this event in back-to-back years, especially after playing well at the CJ Cup a couple of weeks ago.

2021 World Wide Technology Championship picks – Contender

Brendon Todd (+8000)

Todd hasn’t exactly played well yet in the early part of this wraparound schedule but he’s a good fit for this course. He’s not a long hitter but is a great putter, capitalizing when given birdie chances. Todd should have plenty of short irons and wedges into greens, which will hopefully lead to a bunch of birdie chances.

He tied for 8th at this event last year so this could be the perfect time to take a flier on Todd at Mayakoba.

2021 World Wide Technology Championship picks – Long shot

Tom Hoge (+10000)

Hoge was among the players to fire sub-70 rounds on all four days in the World Wide Technology Championship last year, going on to finish tied for third. He should be in good form after playing five events already this season, most recently finishing 17th at the ZOZO Championship.

Hoge is a long shot, but as he searches for his first career win on tour he’s a nice target at +10000.

2021 Bermuda Championship odds, picks and PGA Tour predictions

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 Butterfield Bermuda Championship, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

The PGA Tour will head from Japan to Bermuda this week to visit Port Royal Golf Club for the 2021 Butterfield Bermuda Championship. The first round begins Thursday as the 2021-2022 season continues. Below, we look at the 2021 Butterfield Bermuda Championship odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

It’s a weaker field this week with many of the top names in golf still taking a break from the action. Matthew Fitzpatrick is among the best players teeing it up this week, although he only ranks 40th in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. Patrick Reed, Adam Hadwin and Christiaan Bezuidenhout are also in the field in Bermuda.

Port Royal GC plays to 6,828 yards and is a par 71 course designed by Robert Trent Jones. Brian Gay will return to defend his title from 2020 as the tournament is being played at Port Royal for the third year. Scottie Scheffler and Brendon Todd hold the 18-hole scoring records with scores of 62.

2021 Bermuda Championship picks – Favorite

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds a full list. Lines last updated Monday at 8:50 p.m. ET.

Russell Knox (+4000)

The numbers show Knox enjoys Port Royal quite a bit. He tied for 16th last year and tied for 11th the year prior. His shorter drives off the tee won’t put him at a disadvantage as it’s not a long course, but his ball-striking will certainly give him an edge.

He’s a solid value at +4000.

2021 Bermuda Championship picks – Contender

Peter Uihlein (+6000)

Uihlein ranks 66th on tour in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee, which bodes well this week. He’ll need to be more accurate than he typically is because it’s a shorter course that requires players to hit fairways, but he’s been playing relatively well as of late.

He finished tied for second at the Utah Championship in August and T-16th at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship three weeks later. Uihlein always has the firepower to put together a strong week.

2021 Bermuda Championship picks – Long shot

Dylan Wu (+10000)

Wu is a young player to watch and despite not being terribly long or accurate off the tee, he’s still 54th on tour in SG: Off the Tee this season. He finished T-47 at the Fortinet Championship after firing three straight rounds of 70 and a final-round 73.

He’s worth a small wager as a long shot.

2021 ZOZO Championship odds, picks and PGA Tour predictions

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 ZOZO Championship, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

After spending two weeks in Las Vegas, the PGA Tour will head to Japan for the ZOZO Championship this week. The tournament was relocated to California last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so this will be the first time since 2019 that it will be played in Japan. Below, we look at the 2021 ZOZO Championship odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

This week’s field isn’t as loaded as it was for the CJ Cup as many of the top players in the world won’t tee it up at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club. Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele enter as two of the biggest names, with Morikawa 16th in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings and Schauffele eighth. Japan’s own Hideki Matsuyama will be in the field as he looks to win on his home soil.

Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club is a par 70 course and will play 7,041 yards. The lowest round at the course during the 2019 event was 63, which both Keegan Bradley and Rory McIlroy fired in the second and third rounds, respectively.

2021 ZOZO Championship picks – Favorite

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds a full list. Lines last updated Monday at 4:15 p.m. ET.

Collin Morikawa (+700)

Morikawa finished second at the CJ Cup last week after shooting 62 on Sunday, making a strong run at the title with an excellent final two rounds. If not for a second-round 70, he likely would’ve unseated McIlroy for his first win of the season. He’s a perfect fit for this championship, ranking fourth on tour in Strokes Gained: Approach the Green.

He’s the second favorite behind only Schauffele, but in a weaker field now is a good time to throw some money on Morikawa to hoist the trophy Sunday.

2021 ZOZO Championship picks – Contender

Harry Higgs (+7000)

Higgs is fresh off a T-9 finish at the CJ Cup following steady play at The Summit Club with a low round of 64 on Thursday. He also finished T-27 the week prior at the Shriners Open as he has got off to a great start this season.

The 29-year-old has played well dating back to last season and could contend for his first career victory after finishing second on tour twice before.

2021 ZOZO Championship picks – Long shot

Keita Nakajima (+20000)

Nakajima is the top-ranked amateur in the world according to the WGAR and won the Japan Amateur Championship this summer. The 21-year-old won the Mark H. McCormack Medal as the top-ranked amateur in the world for 2021.

He’s still a long shot to win this week, but it would be quite the story for him to win his first PGA Tour event in Japan.

2021 CJ Cup odds, picks and PGA Tour predictions

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 CJ Cup, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

The PGA Tour will stay in Las Vegas or a second consecutive event after Sungjae Im claimed the title at the Shriners Children’s Open last week. The CJ Cup will be held at The Summit Club in Las Vegas, with the first round of this no-cut event getting underway Thursday. Below, we look at the 2021 CJ Cup odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

The limited field at the CJ Cup is strong this year, with many of the top 50 players in the world attending the event. Dustin Johnson is the favorite, but he’ll have to contend with the likes of Justin Thomas, Viktor Hovland and Louis Oosthuizen, who is fifth in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. Olympic gold medalist Xander Schauffele is also in the field in Vegas, as is 2020 CJ Cup champion Jason Kokrak.

The Summit Club will host this event for the first time. It’s a par 72 course that plays at 7,431 yards, a layout designed by Tom Fazio. Thomas has won the CJ Cup two of the last three years that it was held in South Korea, but it’ll be played on American soil again this week.

2021 CJ Cup picks – Favorite

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds a full list. Lines last updated Monday at 3:35 p.m. ET.

Viktor Hovland (+3000)

Collin Morikawa (+1500) would be a good choice, too, considering he’s a member of The Summit Club, but I like the way Hovland is playing coming into this week and he’s a good value at +3000. He’s first in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee and fourth in SG: Approach early in the 2021-22 season, once again proving to be one of the best ball-strikers in the world.

He does need to improve around the greens. He began to get better in that area last season, but he’s going to hit a ton of fairways and get a lot of looks at birdies. If the putter gets hot this week, he’ll have a chance to contend on Sunday. He finished T-44 at TPC Summerlin last week and will try to build on that performance.

2021 CJ Cup picks – Contender

Marc Leishman (+5000)

No one has started as hot as Leishman this season, going T-4 at the Fortinet Championship and T-3 at the Shriners last week. He’s putting better than just about anyone, ranking second in SG: Putting through two events.

There will be birdies to be found out there this week and Leishman is plenty long enough to get some short irons in his hands where he can be aggressive in his approaches. He’s 19th in SG: Approach after two weeks. At +5000, he’s a worthwhile bet as he tries to ride this hot streak.

PLAY: Our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

2021 CJ Cup picks – Long shot

Tom Hoge (+20000)

Hoge bounced back from a missed cut at the Sanderson Farms Championship two weeks ago by finishing T-14 last week with three sub-70 rounds. He finished T-38 in his first appearance in this event last year. He’s not terribly long or accurate off the tee, but he’s gaining 1.00 strokes per round on approach to the green, which is 12th on Tour this season.

After missing a ton of cuts from April to August last season, he finished strong with a T-4 at The Northern Trust and T-49 at the BMW Championship in late August.

Dustin Johnson’s odds and betting options for 2021 Masters

Looking at the odds and available betting options for Dustin Johnson at the 2021 Masters.

After winning his first career green jacket in the fall, Dustin Johnson returns to Augusta National Golf Club to defend his Masters title just five months later. Below, we look at the 2021 Masters odds for Dustin Johnson and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

Johnson slipped to No. 2 in the latest update of the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings amid a relatively lackluster start to his 2021 schedule.

He won three times in his final 11 events of 2020 in addition to winning the season-long points race and the FedEx Cup. He won the Masters by 5 strokes at 20-under par in his final event of the calendar year.

His only win through six international events to start 2021 was at the European Tour’s Saudi International, and he has just one top-10 finish in five events on American soil.

Best bets for Dustin Johnson at the 2021 Masters

Odds provided by BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 3:08 a.m. ET.

Tournament winner: +900

If you truly in believe in Johnson going back-to-back at Augusta National, betting him at 9-1 to win the tournament offers the highest payout. A $100 bet would return a profit of $900 with an implied win probability of 10% in the field of 88.

The biggest hurdle may be the fact no one has gone back-to-back as Masters champion since Tiger Woods in 2001 and 2002. Even with unimpressive recent results, Johnson leads the Tour with 2.51 total strokes gained on the field per round over 28 measured rounds on the 2020-21 season.

Top-10 finish: -115

A safer bet is to back Johnson for what would be his sixth straight top-10 finish at the Masters. It would take a $115 bet to fetch a profit of $100, but there are seemingly few safer bets on the board.

He tied for second in 2019 and has missed the cut just once in 10 career appearances. In addition, he tied for second at the 2020 PGA Championship and for sixth at the US Open.

Top American: +600

The second-most profitable bet on Johnson is for him to finish as the top American, where a $100 bet would fetch a profit of $600 with an implied win probability of 14.29%.

Four of the top-five and 11 of the top-14 betting favorites are American. We get only a slightly reduced price on Johnson while leaving open the possibility of Jon Rahm (+1100), Rory McIlroy (+1800), Viktor Hovland (+3300) or any other long-shot international winner donning the green jacket.

Top former winner: +175

With Woods, the 2019 Masters champ, not participating this year, Johnson’s greatest competition in this pool is 2015 Masters winner and recent Valero Texas Open champ Jordan Spieth (+240). Spieth shares the second-best odds to win the tournament at +1100.

The only other real threats to Johnson are Patrick Reed (+550), Sergio Garcia (+900), Adam Scott (+1000) and Bubba Watson (+1200). Each of them is priced at +3000 or higher to win the Masters with implied win probabilities of 3.23% or lower.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Tournament matchup vs. Justin Thomas: -135

Johnson’s 72-hole tournament matchup is against the reigning Players Championship winner and Golfweek’s ninth-ranked golfer.

Johnson finished better than Thomas in every Masters in which they both participated to date. Additionally, Johnson has averaged 2.23 strokes gained on the field per round at ANGC; Thomas averaged 1.94.

It would take a $135 bet on Johnson to return a profit of $100 if he finishes better than Thomas by the end of the fourth round.
