2021 Travelers Championship odds, predictions and PGA Tour picks

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 Travelers Championship, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

The Travelers Championship returns to its usual spot on the PGA Tour schedule in 2021 as the follow-up event to the US Open. A strong field is at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. Below, we look at the 2021 Travelers Championship odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

Dustin Johnson returns as the defending champion from last summer. He’s the top-ranked player in the field at No. 5 in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings (as of June 14); he tied for 19th at the US Open.

Bryson DeChambeau is this week’s betting favorite at +1100 off of a disappointing T-26 finish in his defense of the US Open. He shot an 8-over par 44 on the back nine in Sunday’s final round including a quadruple bogey on No. 17.

Scottie Scheffler (+2800)

Scheffler missed the cut in his first appearance at the Travelers last year  despite averaging 1.34 Strokes Gained: Putting per round. He’s tied with Rahm for first on Tour in total driving this season and is coming off a strong T-7 finish last week.

He led last week’s field with 2.12 SG: Putting per round. For the 2020-21 season, he’s averaging 1.05 SG: Tee-to-Green and 1.42 total strokes gained on the field per round. He’s a quality fit for the course with TPC River Highland’s emphasis on accuracy off the tee and with a hot flat stick.

2021 Travelers Championship picks – Contender

Bubba Watson (+5000)

Watson is looking for his fourth Travelers Championship title with his most recent coming by three strokes in 2018. He tied for 50th at Torrey Pines last week while going plus-11 over the weekend.

He still averaged 0.52 SG: Off-the-Tee per round but struggled with his approach game. His missed cut at TPC River Highlands last summer was largely due to a woeful putting performance, but he was much closer to neutral with the flat stick last week.

Watson’s 50 career rounds played at this venue rank fourth in the field, and his 1.66 strokes gained per round are the fifth-most among those with at least 10 rounds played. He’s averaging 0.80 SG: Off-the-Tee and 0.97 SG: Tee-to-Green per round for the season.

2021 Travelers Championship picks – Long shot

Guido Migliozzi (+10000)

Migliozzi tied for fourth at last week’s US Open and will now play the first non-major PGA Tour event of his career. He enters the week at No. 72 in the Official World Golf Ranking. He won twice on the European Tour in 2019 and had back-to-back runner-up finishes before arriving in the US.

The 24-year-old Italian was sixth in the field last week with 2.83 SG: Tee-to-Green per round, and he was fourth among those who made the cut in SG: Around-the-Green.

Get him at this value price while you can, because they won’t last long if he’s going to play more regularly on the PGA Tour.

2021 US Open odds, predictions and PGA Tour picks

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 US Open, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

The US Open returns to Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California, for the first time since 2008 for the 121st running of the event. A field of 156 is in attendance as Bryson DeChambeau tries to defend his 2020 title at Winged Foot Golf Club. Below, we look at the 2021 US Open odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

Jon Rahm enters the week as the favorite to win the US Open and at No. 1 in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings. He’s teeing it up for the first time since being forced to withdraw from the Memorial Tournament due to a positive COVID-19 test.

The South Course plays to a par of 71. While the listed yardage is 7,652, it can play up to 7,800 yards. Greens are comprised of Bentgrass and Poa Annua. Patrick Reed won the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in January, but that tournament is split between the North and South courses.

Jon Rahm (+900)

Rahm held a six-stroke lead after the third round of the Memorial Tournament when told he needed to withdraw. He was cleared earlier than expected and will be able to get in some early prep work this week.

The five-time PGA Tour champ got his first career win at the 2017 Farmers Insurance Open. He has gained an average of 2.05 strokes per round on the field over 15 career rounds on the South Course. He was the runner-up at the 2020 Farmers, and he tied for seventh in January.

Rahm also leads the Tour this season in total strokes gained on the field per round, and he’s second in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green. He’s ninth on Tour in bogey avoidance.

2021 US Open picks – Contender

Cameron Smith (+5000)

Smith has 15 rounds of experience on the South Course with an average of 0.97 strokes gained per round. He’s gaining 0.85 strokes per round from tee-to-green and his short game has been excellent in the 2020-21 season. He’s 31st in bogey avoidance.

The Australian has just one solo PGA Tour win in his career, but he has three top-10 finishes in 2021, including a T-10 at the Masters in April. He didn’t miss the cut in any of the last 11 majors.

2021 US Open picks – Long shot

Matt Wallace (+15000)

Wallace is playing Torrey Pines for the first time, but he should fit the course well. He is averaging 0.22 SG: Off-the-Tee and 0.78 SG: Tee-to-Green per round, and he’s 19th on Tour in par 4 efficiency: 450-500 yards.

The Englishman made the cut in each of his last eight majors, including a T-12 finish at the 2019 US Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links. His long irons are well-suited to the venue, and he can handle the thick rough off the fairways and around the greens.

2021 Memorial Tournament odds, predictions and PGA Tour picks

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 Memorial Tournament, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

A loaded PGA Tour field is in Dublin, Ohio, this week for the Memorial Tournament. A renovated Muirfield Village Golf Club is the host venue as many of the world’s top golfers make their final tournament preparations for the 2021 US Open (June 17-20). Below, we look at the 2021 Memorial Tournament odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

Five of the top-seven golfers in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings (as of Monday, May 24) highlight the field, led by No. 1 and defending champion Jon Rahm. He’s this week’s betting favorite at +1000 while looking for his first win of 2021.

Muirfield Village, a 7,543-yard, par-72 course, hosted the Workday Charity Open and the Memorial in back-to-back weeks last summer. Since then putting surfaces have been redone, bunkers were rebuilt, and trees were added throughout the course.

Cantlay also leads this field with 2.81 strokes gained on the field per round over 20 career rounds at Muirfield Village. He tied for seventh at last year’s Workday Charity Open and finished T-32 in the Memorial.

He won this event by two strokes at 19-under par in 2019. He was top-five in SG: Tee-to-Green, SG Approach and SG: Around-the-Green for the tournament.

2021 Memorial Tournament picks – Contender

Sungjae Im (+5000)

Im is No. 32 in the Golfweek rankings and shares the 19th-best odds to win this week. He tied for 57th at the 2019 Memorial Tournament but missed the cut last year following a 63rd-place finish at the Workday Charity Open. He missed the cut last week at the Charles Schwab Challenge following a T-17 result at the PGA Championship.

Im is 14th on Tour in driving accuracy for the 2020-21 season and should be well-equipped to the tighter fairways. He has also been putting very well this season as players take on the new greens of Muirfield Village for the first time this week.

He’s tied for 23rd in driving accuracy and was beginning to show signs of his old form prior to a missed cut at the PGA Championship.

2021 Charles Schwab Challenge odds, predictions and PGA Tour picks

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 Charles Schwab Challenge, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

The Charles Schwab Challenge follows up the PGA Championship but still hosts a surprisingly strong field this week at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Below, we look at the 2021 Charles Schwab Challenge odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

This tournament was the first event played upon the PGA Tour’s mid-June restart a year ago. Daniel Berger (+1600) returns as the defending champion; Jordan Spieth (+1000), already a winner in Texas this year, is the pretournament favorite. They’re ranked seventh and 23rd, respectively, in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings.

PGA Championship winner Phil Mickelson (+5000) is also in the field. He’s a two-time winner at Colonial, most recently in 2008.

Finau tied for 23rd at Colonial last summer after finishing as the runner-up at the 2019 Charles Schwab Challenge. He has six top-10 finishes this year, including three runner-ups, and his T-8 finish last week was his 10th career top-10 placing in a major.

Finau was in the top three of the field in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee the last two years at Colonial, and has had great success on these greens. He was first among those to make the cut last week in SG: Around-the-Green, and he’s 10th on Tour this season in SG: Approach.

Thirteenth in both the Golfweek rankings and the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), Finau shares the seventh-best odds to win this week. He’s an excellent value bet.

Matt Wallace (+6600)

Wallace played Colonial professionally for the first time last year and missed the cut, but he averaged 0.78 SG: Putting per round over 36 holes. He struggled around the greens and on approach, but he has been much sharper in both respects in 2021.

He finished third at the Valero Texas Open in early April and has two other top-10 results this year (Wells Fargo Championship, Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship).

Harry Higgs (+12500)

Higgs was a surprise T-4 finisher at the PGA Championship. His first top-10 showing in 12 events this year moved him to No. 93 in the OWGR.

He was second among those to make the cut in SG: Around-the-Green for the week and he has been an excellent putter all season. There’s some risk of a letdown coming off of his first career major appearance, but this number is far too high against a weaker field.

The 29-year-old resides in Dallas, Texas, and tied for 38th at Colonial with a strong around-the-green game last June.

2021 PGA Championship odds, predictions and PGA Tour picks

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 PGA Championship, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

The PGA Championship returns to the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island for the first time since Rory McIlroy‘s eight-stroke victory in 2012. The second major of 2021 is the fourth of the 2020-21 season. Collin Morikawa looks to defend his first major win from last summer at TPC Harding Park. Below, we look at the 2021 PGA Championship odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

McIlroy’s returning to the site of his second career major victory. After a poor stretch of play earlier this year which included missed cuts at The Players Championship and the Masters, he returned to form with victory at the Wells Fargo Championship.

The Ocean Course is a par 72 measuring 7,849 yards with large Paspalum greens.

Rory McIlroy (+1100)

McIlroy was the only player to finish double digits under par amid poor weather conditions in 2012. As such, he was long priced as one of the favorites to win the 2021 PGA Championship by the PGA Tour futures odds, but he peaked at +1600 following his missed cut at the Masters.

Those who missed out on those odds are getting a lower return on investment, but are certainly getting the better version of the former world No. 1.

McIlroy was top 10 in the field in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green and SG: Approach at the Wells Fargo. He was third in SG: Putting and had several key sand saves over the weekend.

2021 PGA Championship picks – Contender

Joaquin Niemann (+6600)

Niemann enters the week at No. 8 in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings but shares just the 26th-best odds to win. The 22-year-old missed the cut in each of the last two runnings of the PGA Championship, but he tied for 23rd at last fall’s US Open. He posted back-to-back runner-up finishes in Hawaii to begin the calendar year and tied for 40th at April’s Masters.

The Chilean is an excellent iron player who’s also averaging 0.76 SG: Off-the-Tee per round through 51 measured rounds this season.

2021 PGA Championship picks – Long shot

Dylan Frittelli (+25000)

The PGA Championship has produced many long-shot winners over the years and Frittelli is worthy of a small wager with a $10 bet returning a profit of $2,500.

The toughest tests posed by the Ocean Course (other than weather) are the sand bunkers and dunes surrounding nearly every putting surface. The South African is 56th on Tour in sand save percentage and third in SG: Around-the-Green.

He tied for 33rd at last year’s PGA Championship ahead of a surprising T-5 finish at the November Masters.

2021 AT&T Byron Nelson odds, predictions and PGA Tour picks

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 AT&T Byron Nelson, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

The PGA Tour shifts to TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas, for this week’s AT&T Byron Nelson as the final tune-up ahead of next week’s PGA Championship. Below, we look at the 2021 AT&T Byron Nelson odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

Five of the top-nine golfers in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings are in attendance. The strong field is headlined by world No. 1 Jon Rahm and reigning FedExCup champ Dustin JohnsonSung Kang is defending his 2019 Byron Nelson championship but this is the first year the tournament is being played at TPC Craig Ranch.

The venue measures 7,468 yards and plays to a par of 72. It has hosted Korn Ferry Tour events but will welcome the PGA Tour for the first time this week.

Will Zalatoris (+3000)

At No. 7 in the Golfweek rankings, Zalatoris is the third-best golfer in this field, but he has just the 10th-best odds to win. His missed cut at last week’s Wells Fargo Championship was his first in 14 PGA Tour events since the Sanderson Farms Championship in October.

It was poor putting which did in Zalatoris last week at Quail Hollow Club. He still gained strokes from tee-to-green and around-the-green over his two rounds, and he has been an above-average putter for the 2020-21 season.

As in every tournament immediately preceding a major, the motivation of the top players in the field is questionable this week. Zalatoris still needs a win in order to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs, despite his world ranking and three top-10 finishes this year.

2021 AT&T Byron Nelson picks – Contender

Keith Mitchell (+8000)

The value’s still right for Mitchell coming off his T-3 finish at Quail Hollow last week. He held the 54-hole lead and was in the final pairing with Rory McIlroy. He fell two strokes shy of victory with a Sunday round of plus-1, 72.

Mitchell was second in the field with 1.85 Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee and sixth with 2.32 SG: Tee-to-Green per round last week. TPC Craig Ranch is of similar length, and those two parts of his game will transfer well.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

2021 AT&T Byron Nelson picks – Long shot

Sung Kang (+50000)

Kang’s 2019 Byron Nelson win should be ignored as it was at a different venue and against a considerably weaker field. He’s still well worth a long-shot bet, as he is a member of TPC Craig Ranch and will have an edge over most of the field in the venue’s PGA Tour debut.

Kang missed the cut in eight of his 12 events to begin 2021, but he tied for second in last year’s Genesis Invitational and finished T-9 at the 2020 Arnold Palmer Invitational. Both results were in strong fields and at long courses.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on Kang to win would return a profit of $5,000. The same wager on Zalatoris would net a return of $300.

2021 Wells Fargo Championship odds, predictions and PGA Tour picks

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

The Wells Fargo Championship returns to the PGA Tour schedule and welcomes an exceptionally strong field to Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Below, we look at the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

The 2020 tournament was canceled amid the COVID-19 pandemic, so Max Homa (+3300) returns as the defending champion. He’s trying to be the first back-to-back winner of the Wells Fargo Championship. He’ll be contended by seven of the top-10 golfers in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings.

Quail Hollow is among the PGA Tour’s most famous stops. It measures 7,521 yards and plays to a par of 71.

Rory McIlroy (+1800)

We haven’t seen McIlroy since a missed cut at the Masters in mid-April. He enters the week at No. 15 in the Official World Golf Ranking and is without a win since winning four times in 2019.

He won this event for the first time in 2010 and did so again by seven strokes in 2015 at a record of 21-under par. His 2.76 strokes gained on the field per round over 38 career rounds played at Quail Hollow top this week’s contingent.

The Northern Irishman is in bad form with missed cuts at the Masters and The Players Championship in his last three events, but his three international top-10 finishes this year can inspire some hope.

The 18-1 payout in the strong field is weighing his recent form a little too heavily against his elite course history, including a T-8 finish in 2019.

2021 Wells Fargo Championship picks – Contender

Francesco Molinari (+8000)

Much like McIlroy, Molinari started the 2021 portion of the Tour’s 2020-21 schedule well with three top-10 finishes in his first four events of the year, but he has slipped over the last couple of months. He missed the cut at both the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players before a 52nd-place finish at the Masters.

His strong course history includes a T-16 finish in 2018, a T-24 in 2017 and a T-17 in 2016. He has averaged 2.44 strokes gained per round at Quail Hollow to rank second in this field among those with at least 10 rounds played.

Putting has been Molinari’s greatest weakness this season. He’s still gaining 0.38 strokes per round on approach to the green with a total of 0.73 Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green per round.

2021 Wells Fargo Championship picks – Long shot

Joel Dahmen (+12500)

Dahmen was the runner-up to Homa at the 2019 Wells Fargo Championship. He averaged 2.27 SG: Tee-to-Green, 1.56 SG: Approach and 1.32 SG: Putting per round for the tournament.

He returns in 2021 as a PGA Tour champion with a win at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship earlier this year.

While the field is considerably stronger and the course significantly more difficult, the 125-1 odds are far too high for a recent winner. Dahmen has been off of tournament play since a 74th-place finish at the Valero Texas Open ahead of the Masters. He returns well-rested to a course where he has had success.

2021 Valspar Championship odds, predictions and PGA Tour picks

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 Valspar Championship, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

Individual stroke play returns on the PGA Tour this week with the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort’s Copperhead course in Palm Harbor, Fla. Below, we look at the 2021 Valspar Championship odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

This tournament was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Paul Casey returns in 2021 looking for a record third straight win at Copperhead.

He’ll be challenged by a strong field fronted by Golfweek/Sagarin‘s third and fourth-ranked golfers (as of April 19) in Dustin Johnson and Viktor Hovland, respectively.

The Valspar Championship follows last week’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans partner event. Australians Cameron Smith and Marc Leishman won in a playoff over the South African duo of Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel.

Paul Casey (+2200)

Casey won by a single stroke in both 2018 and 2019 at 10- and 8-under par, respectively. The two-time defending champ’s odds are inflated by the top-heavy strength of this field. He’s just sixth by the odds.

The Englishman has averaged 1.34 strokes gained on the field per round over his 20 career rounds played at Copperhead. He led the field with 2.81 Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green per round in 2019.

Casey won the European Tour’s Omega Dubai Desert Classic in late January and has four top-10 finishes in eight PGA Tour events this year. His irons and ball-striking are in great form as he goes for the three-peat.

2021 Valspar Championship picks – Contender

Gary Woodland (+8000)

Woodland has played 28 rounds at Copperhead with an average of 0.83 strokes gained per round. He won here in 2011 and tied for eighth in 2014 but missed the cut in each of his last two appearances at the Valspar Championship.

The former major winner has been showing much better form of late after dealing with injuries for the better part of the last year. He tied for sixth in a quality field at the Valero Texas Open and tied for 40th at the Masters after missing the cut in three of his previous four events.

He remains a strong value after taking the last two weeks off.

2021 Valspar Championship picks – Long shot

Ryan Moore (+10000)

Moore is second on the PGA Tour in driving accuracy for the season. He has struggled with the putter, but his approach game was very sharp in a T-52 finish at the RBC Heritage, where he was 11th among those who made the cut in SG: Off-the-Tee.

Additionally, he has 39 career rounds played at Copperhead with an average of 0.60 strokes gained on the field per round. He has five career wins on the top Tour and shouldn’t have odds this high in a field that thins out this quickly.

*Note: Cameron Champ was previously mentioned here but withdrew Monday afternoon.

2021 RBC Heritage odds, predictions and PGA Tour picks

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 RBC Heritage, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

The PGA Tour moves from Augusta, Georgia, to Hilton Head, South Carolina, for this week’s RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links. Below, we look at the 2021 RBC Heritage odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

Despite the fact this tournament is being played on the heels of the 2021 Masters, the field is quite strong. Dustin Johnson, ranked second in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings, is the headliner and pre-tournament betting favorite at +900 coming off a missed cut at the Masters. Webb Simpson also returns to defend his 2020 title.

Next week will see the Tour move to Louisiana for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans team event. The PGA Championship, the second major of 2021 and fourth of the 2020-21 PGA Tour season is just over one month away.

Matt Fitzpatrick (+3000)

Fitzpatrick has played 20 career competitive rounds at Harbour Town with an average of 1.06 strokes gained on the field per round. He has still never won on the PGA Tour and is coming off a T-34 finish at the Masters, but he has three top-10 showings in six events in North America to start the year.

The Englishman tied for 14th in this event last year and in 2018. He’s averaging 0.24 Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green and 0.66 SG: Putting per round through 33 measured rounds on the season and the current form fits this course well.

2021 RBC Heritage picks – Contender

Christiaan Bezuidenhout (+5500)

The 26-year-old from South Africa is coming off a T-40 finish in his second career appearance at the Masters. He tied for 28th in this event last year and has since won twice on the European Tour.

He leads qualified golfers with 0.923 SG: Around-the-Green on the 2020-21 PGA Tour season, and he was 10th among those to play all four rounds in SG: Putting per round.

2021 RBC Heritage picks – Long shot

Adam Hadwin (+10000)

Hadwin shouldn’t have odds this high based on his experience at Harbour Town GL. He has played 18 competitive rounds with an average of 0.83 strokes gained on the field. He tied for 41st last summer but has a top finish of T-22 in 2017.

He’s fifth on Tour this season in SG: Around-the-Green and his putting is improving as the season goes on.
