Three Aggies make Pro Football Network’s All-America Team

The honors continue to roll in for select members of the 2022 Texas A&M roster, as Pro Football Network has released their Preseason All-America Team, which includes three well-known Aggies throughout the 2nd and 3rd team selections.

  • Offensive lineman (Right guard) Layden Robinson was designated 2nd-Team, Offensive line. Going into his redshirt junior season, Robinson is one of the most feared run blockers in the country, while showing strength and balance in pass pro. Robinson is also one of the vocal leaders on an experienced offensive line that looks to become one of the predominant strengths on offense throughout the season.
  • Wide receiver/punt returner Ainias Smith was selected to the 3rd-Team, Special Teams as a punt returner. Smith is going into his senior season as the presumed leader on offense, joining Layden Robinson in that regard. Smith is coming off of a 2021 season where he recorded 47 receptions for 509 yards and 6 touchdowns, with a 10.8 yard per catch average. Whoever secures the quarterback spot will be looking Smith’s way during key moments on offense.
  • Defensive back Antonio Johnson was designated 3rd-Team, Defense at the safety position. Johnson is slowly approaching superstar status and is expecting to take an even bigger leap this season as one of the most dominant defenders in the country, slated to play at the nickel corner and safety position during the 2022 season. In 2021, Johnson’s impressive stat line consisted of 79 tackles, 53 solo tackles, 1 sack, 5 pass deflections, and 1 interception.
