Peyton Manning throws some friendly shade at Bruce Arians

NFL legend Peyton Manning spoke to 104.3 The Fan in Denver about Bucs coach Bruce Arians and their time together in Indy with the Colts.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians came out of retirement last year to try and get Jameis Winston’s career back on track. While 2019 saw Winston lead the NFL in passing yards with 5,109, it also saw him lead the league in interceptions with a jaw-dropping 30.

But it’s not the first time an Arians pupil neared the 30-interception mark. Former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning had Arians as his quarterbacks coach when he first arrived in Indianapolis with the Colts in 1998. Manning threw 28 interceptions as a rookie as the Colts stumbled to a 3-13 record.

Fortunately, for Manning, those 28 picks were the most he’d ever collect in one season. Still, he seems to believe Arians should take some responsibility, which he made clear on 104.3 The Fan in Denver yesterday, all in good fun of course.

I wonder if Winston wants Arians to take some responsibility, too?
