[autotag]Peter Barrett[/autotag]’s UFC debut is finally in the works.
The only fighter from Dana White’s Contender Series season 3 who has yet to have a debut fight completed or on the books, Barrett (11-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is targeted to face [autotag]Danny Henry[/autotag] at UFC on ESPN+ 31.
A person with knowledge of the situation informed MMA Junkie of the booking following an initial report from The Scrap.
UFC on ESPN+ 31 takes place April 25 at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb. The event will stream on ESPN+.
Massachusetts’ Barrett punched his ticket to the big show with a win over Sang Hoon Yoo in August. After the fight, UFC president Dana White expressed finding inspiration in Barrett’s backstory. The 33-year-old regional veteran has won three out of his most recent four outings.
As for Henry (12-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC), the Scottish featherweight had a five-fight win streak snapped in March against Dan Ige. He was booked to fight Mike Davis in September, but withdrew for unknown reasons.
With the addition, the UFC on ESPN+ 31 lineup now includes:
