The legacy of Bill Walton is something that will be remembered forever by many. And, it isn’t just sports fans, either.

Bill Walton’s connection to The Grateful Dead is something that went viral after the news of his passing came out. Of course, the basketball community mourned the loss of a legendary player and broadcaster.

But, Pearl Jam paid special tribute to Bill Walton during a show in Seattle just after Walton’s passing.

The played “Man of the Hour” and displayed Walton’s picture on the screen after the song, sparking a huge round of applause from the audience.

Eddie Vedder, the singer of Pearl Jam, delivered an emotional speech about Walton before the song in a touching tribute.

So, it isn’t just the sports world, but also the music community, that Bill Walton has left a lasting impact on.

Quite simply, there will never be anybody else like Bill Walton.

Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder blasted Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker

Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam has joined those condemning Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker’s comments at the Benedictine College commencement address.

“While I have your attention,” Vedder said at a show in Las Vegas, “Can we please raise our voices, clap our hands, and show our appreciation for the first group to be on the stage tonight, Deep Sea Diver?

“That’s some good men and good women making up a great band. The singer, Jessica, and the keyboard player, Patti, they must not have believed that ‘diabolical lie’ that women should take pride in taking a back seat to their man.”

Vedder continued: “You see the kicker and he doesn’t have the pads because he doesn’t tackle anybody or get tackled.

“But he started telling men to puff up your chest and be more masculine and you don’t lose your masculinity.

“The irony was that when he was saying that, he looked like such an expletive-expletive. There’s nothing more masculine than a strong man supporting a strong woman.”

The Change.org petition demanding the Chiefs release their kicker has more than 216,000 signatures as of this writing.

Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder connected with a baseball while wakeboarding in a Boston Red Sox helmet for ALS Research.

Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder stepped up to the plate — sort of — in a Boston Red Sox helmet no less as part of the #TrickShot4Snowy challenge in the fight against ALS.

Vedder was challenged by his friend, current Cubs, and former Red Sox boss Theo Epstein. The #TrickShot4Snowy challenge was started to help out Calgary Flames Assistant GM Chris Snow who is battling ALS.

As part of the challenge, people are asked to complete a trick shot of some athleticism and post it with the #TrickShot4Snowy hashtag, helping to bring attention to ALS, then make a donation to directly fund ALS Research.

For his trick shot,  Vedder was wakeboarding — towed behind a boat on a surfboard — with a bat in hands and delivered a sweet swing and connection..You can watch his trick shot below.

Vedder then challenged his Pearl Jam bandmate Jeff Ament, and retired NHL superstar Chris Chelios.
